I’ll check and add that!
I’ll check and add that!
I guess I should update this since it’s been… a decade?
This is just the Original Trilogy.
11SE Blu-rays (purchased used individually, some from a going-out-of-business Blockbuster Video)
ESB GOUT (used media store in 2018)
ANH GOUT (shrink-wrapped from a local grocery store in 2019)
The Digital Six Film Collection (Microsoft in 2019)
19SE UHDs (purchased individually last week)
ROTJ GOUT (eBay this week)
ANH GOUT (“fullscreen”, so I don’t have to open mine, eBay this week)I found a “Faces” VHS set somewhere in the last decade, I have that too.
I’m planning on using a friend’s custom cases to store each 19SE UHD, 11SE BD, 04SE DVD, GOUT, and the new bonus disc.
I’d like to see the custom cases once you’re finished with them.
Here you go! https://twitter.com/doubleofive/status/1248627547857960960?s=21
Do you know if Wired plan to include a version of the article in their print edition?
I believe the stuff I signed was just for online.

Episode I DVD in 2001
Episode II DVD in 2002
04SE Widescreen Trilogy DVD in 2004
Episode III DVD in 2005

Congrats on perseverance and continuously tweaking the presentation until you captured a more mainstream audience. George would be proud. (kidding!)Contact Kaminski and see if you can get the article added to https://savestarwars.com/
I sold it to WIRED, maybe he could add a link?
Excellent work. I also could not stop laughing at the CGI Yavin, it’s been a very long time since I watched that version and I never realised it either.
There are 30 tiny explosions in that GIF.
Thanks, Anchor!
Ady attempted this for ESBR, if I recall, it was too much work and didn’t look quite right. You can see it in the early trailers he made.
The scenes between Han and Leia should be more intimate. Just a thought.
How would one accomplish this?
The column appears to also be entirely gone in the tracking shot of R2 heading towards 3PO, which seems to confirm my 3D conversion theory. I added both shots of the CZ to my rough draft album and credited you, yotsuya!
It was WIRED’s idea to make it about Disney+ since that’s the big thing everyone is talking about. And it wouldn’t cost them printing and distribution. It’s as easy as uploading.
- Changed light area on wall behind CZ droid to shadow.
We didn’t notice this one, well done! How did you even see it?! I wonder if it was done during the 3D conversion so they wouldn’t have to worry about that weird piece of architecture going off at a weird angle.
- New Sky over Stormtroopers in the desert (1997 SE added scene) including a cloud
Not sure what you’re seeing here, the skies look identical to me.
Sorry if this has been asked, but are the included 1080p blu-ray versions from the new (maclunky) scan too, or did they just repurpose unsold blu-rays?
They’re Maclunkey.
Did I not say in the article that I was going to just go over the major additions? People keep pointing out I didn’t cover this or that. It’s not that I don’t have an opinion on Shaw’s eyebrows or Wicket blinking. I just had to stop going down the rabbit hole somewhere!
LOL, that’s amazing. What Hoffman thread?
1981 was after Empire came out… 😐
🤫 time is fluid.
LOL

I finally published my history of the Special Edition, which actually breaks down every addition to the trilogy and how it actively harms the movie, and explains how both versions can live in peace.
I also reveal a mistake introduced in the SE that I’ve never seen pointed out before.
It’s quite a read, I hope you enjoy! A lot of you helped, in the end.
Here it is, gang. My magnum opus.

Yeah, the 4K transfers were done at 2.39:1. I’m not sure the small amount of “lost” information is worth the amount of cleanup Ady would have to do to 4K83.
The point is… that… if we assume this fan edited scene was in our head canon Last Jedi Revisited that we should… make his lightsaber blue in Return?
Cool. I’m sure Ady is very fascinated by all of this.
TDB has a breakdown of the bonus features.
Comparison of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope 4K Disney+ vs Blu-Ray Version-
Cool comparison video, but it looks like all the laser bolts are washed out. There is a video for each of the first 6 movies.

Whatever sources they were using for the Disney+ comparisons were messed up, we discovered the actual video is much better. They also have “SDR vs HDR” videos, and that’s not how either of those formats work.
Like the shot where he puts his hands up? I don’t see any difference from a quick look.
I mean, theoretically there’s 3 years we didn’t see of them trading saves.
