You're allowed to talk about douches on TFN. Does that come up a lot in the EU?

I guess I had quite a weekend.
Interstellar
Fantastic. I saw it with a friend in what has to be Nolan's nightmare: The smallest screen in my small town theater in probably 2k digtally, but it overcame its presentation to become a fantastic film. I'm trying to figure out how to get my wife to drive us to Indianapolis to see it in 70mm IMAX.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey: Extended Edition
My wife and I had to watch this because its been a year or so since we've seen it and honestly couldn't remember what happened in it. I mean, we remembered what happened, but kept forgetting what happened in which movie. The EE doesn't add much...
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug: Extended Edition
...unlike the EE for Smaug. For the first time the EE doesn't just add bonus lines to a scene or cute sequences we could live without, but RESTORES AN ENTIRE SUBPLOT. Including a completely different version of a sequence that was in the Theatrical Edition. Which to me now means that the Extended Editions are a different continuity than the Theatricals.
Anyway, the EE for this is a must-see.
It doesn't matter what the subtitle is. We're all going to continue to call it Episode VII anyway.
On the other hand, if you're going to download fan edits that use the Blu-ray as a base, you're supposed to own them.
FTFY. ;-)Erik Pancakes said:

I still haven't seen the second Captain America or the second Thor movie--or, for that matter, any post-Avengers Marvel movies aside from Iron Man 3. Hopefully I'll get around to seeing them within the next couple years.
DEFINITELY watch Captain America 2.
I very much doubt that. It's definitely a fan project.
Alas, Ady can't even tell the team what project it is. Very hush hush for some reason.ray_afraid said:
Ady, can you give any details about this other project? Is it a Star Wars fan film?
Yeah...SilverWook said:
Thankfully, I've never seen anyone actually put a Slave Leia costume on a pet. And yes, they do make those.
Adywan is still working on the fan production, but the rest of the team are working on their ends.
JASON LIVES: Friday The 13th Part VI
I was encouraged to watch the Friday the 13th films, so I picked them all up at Walmart. We got through the first 6 this weekend, but I have to say that JASON LIVES is exactly what the franchise should have been from the beginning. Tongue-in-cheek, over-the-top murders, general hilarity. You could probably see just this one by itself, but the others are so short (hour and a half each) that there's no excuse not to.
3.5/5 arms ripped off
Still working our way through them, but here's my scores for the others so far:
Part 1 (2.5/5)
Part 2 (3/5)
Part 3 (2.5/5)
Part 4 (3/5)
Part 5 (2/5)
That's what I was thinking they were talking about!
I believe they're saying that the screen that connects to R2 should have like the vector DS from one of the games.
Now that is cool, thanks for sharing poita!
I believe we've already used the 3D printer for as-yet-unrevealed miniatures. Or revealed miniatures. It's not my job to keep track of such things.
What's that? It is? Oh.
I remember now that we released this picture, so yeah.
Thanks Tim, saves me some time. ;-)
Project is on hold so Ady can do a paying gig so he can finish the edit. He's very much alive.TheDoctor1987 said:
What ever happened to this project Adywan are you still alive?
Did someone mention Fett?!
I still think RotJ could do without him, but Ady says has something special planned for him. We only need to keep him from escaping.
Thanks, I will modify my theory.
I'm 14 years older than the youngest in my family, 11 years to the next oldest. So I know what you're going through. It's kind of awesome.
That's the second time I've heard that, I don't recall exactly when the tape went in. That makes my theory even more clear I should think. Vol 2 is about chasing after the father.DominicCobb said:
Also, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Ain't No Mountain High Enough the first song on Mix 2, and I Want You Back is the second?
My wife has a thumb drive she got at a convention that flips out of a full-sized cassette shaped case. It's The Coolest.
And I did send Gunn a link to my post on Twitter, so there's that.
There's another trailer that used "Spirit In The Sky".
Alright, I've put this off long enough, I have a theory that I want to share, if I don't push it out now, I never will:
------------------
Is it possible this mix created for Peter Quill by his mother is more than just a collection of her favorite songs, but the story of her and his mysterious father?
The song that really jumped out to me was David Bowie’s "Moonage Daydream”, his tale of Ziggy Stardust, the rock and roll savior of the world who at least communicates with aliens, if not falls in love with one according to the lyrics:
Keep your 'lectric eye on me babe
Put your ray gun to my head
Press your space face close to mine, love
Freak out in a moonage daydream oh yeah!
The rest of the mix seems to tell a story of falling in love, out of love, back in love, and wanting to reunite. Peter's mom was a teenage rebel ("Cherry Bomb")At first, she believes that Peter’s father is in love with her (“Hooked on a Feeling”), which he denies (“I’m Not in Love”). Eventually, she persuades him (“Go All The Way”), and they start their relationship (“Come And Get Your Love”). The father, who’s literally been around the galaxy, has to admit that she does mean something to him ("Fooled Around and Fell in Love”), but he fears that they don’t have enough in common ("Escape (The Piña Colada Song)”). He leaves her, but she remains convinced that he’ll come back ("Ain't No Mountain High Enough”). "O-o-h Child” is a straight-forward message to her son that, no matter what, things will get better.
The movie ends with the first song from “Vol. 2”, The Jackson 5’s "I Want You Back”, which to me signifies Peter's mom no longer being content with waiting for his father to come back, perhaps encouraging Peter to look for him.

If I wasn't an idiot, I would have realized that the DragonCon panel with James Gunn would be a Q&A session and I could have actually asked him this question, but by the time I got in line there were way too many people. People did ask about the soundtrack, and he said that the songs were "baked into the script".
Where did he say that? When I saw him in Atlanta, he said that he hand-picked all of the songs but the one that plays over the trailer and isn't in the movie.Erik Pancakes said:
Well, "Spirit in the Sky" was meant to be in the movie, but the scene it played over was cut. I think Gunn said it'd appear on the DVD/BR in the deleted scenes section.
I think during the movie scene.
The question is, how will Anakin having seen this before play into it actually happening in TRSB?
