How would a Star Wars reboot do?

Is it a popular theory that Luke was attacked by the wampa early in Empire to help "explain" this difference in his appearance?

That theory is as old as Empire itself. Yet we see Luke in closeup before the Wampa attack.

An unpopular theory then? I know it isn't new and that there are close-ups of Luke before the attack, but that doesn't entirely disprove the theory. An audience seeing Empire for the first time have a limited window to notice any difference before that event takes place, and it is a plausible explanation for those noticing afterwards.

It would have been too heavy-handed to have had it happen without clearly showing Luke at least once. He is injured in his first scene, I don't think it is incredible that this may have been a decision that was made to partially bridge the slight gap in continuity caused by his change in appearance. Or not...

His lack of on-screen roles after the OT was likely due to the car crash that busted up his pretty mug.

Which happened between Star Wars and Empire. Harrison Ford has a scar, and that hasn't hurt his career. Luke Skywalker casts a larger shadow than Han Solo in the minds of casting people perhaps?

It is obvious when it happened, as Mark's face never looked quite the same after Star Wars. A scar on your chin isn't quite the same as major reconstructive surgery. Frankly, I don't think Mark would have ever gotten the role had his face looked like that to begin with. But I agree that Luke Skywalker casts a larger shadow as you said.

It's a pity this, the Spiderman and X-men movies weren't brought into the same continuity as The Avengers  as it would have been fun to have a really expansive Marvel Movie universe.

Doctor Doom was pretty much wasted here.

It would take a nifty explanation for why the Human Torch and Captain America are identical. Doom was terrible, Julian McMahon is about as scary as Topher Grace.

So I keep watching Ultimate Spider-Man... The show has grown on me a little since Toilet Venom. I'm getting used to the SHIELD team angle and the humour that constantly falls flat; Jameson's voice is done by J.K. Simmons and Venom's second appearance was a lot better.

I like the art style more than any previous Spidey cartoons and their version of the Hulk was maybe the most entertaining I've ever seen (I like my Hulk dull-witted and hilarious). If they could only quit the ridiculous metaphor visualizations and the tiresome devil/angel on the shoulders nonsense that constantly kill the pace of the story I might actually start to like it. It seems to be aimed at children with attention spans of twenty seconds or so.
