Damn Stephen Fry is good. Why would anybody (including Americans) want to listen to Harry Potter being read in an American accent? Riddikulus. Fry's Hagrid is so close it sounds like Robbie Coltrane is sitting next to him doing the lines.
I fear we will never see Smoove T again.
Lolita Convention? Laugh-Out-Loud Icon? Lollipop... Convention?
Please answer my questions thread!
Should I put my light on? I can never decide. Why do some members use it but others don't? Is it something to do with etiquette or just convenience? If I turn it on, I eventually want to turn it off again and vice-versa. Should I just continue to follow my whims and be wishy-washy with my light or should I choose my side of the fence?
LOL
How was this thread ever approved in the New Thread Thread?
I'm thinking of making another thread for Hi-Res Poster Art in Covers, where you can actually find hi-res poster art instead of asking for it. Thumbnails in the first post linking to files that actually exist and are kept up-to-date with the highest quality available. Any thoughts?
Is there a live feed for this? I demand it. Original trilogy pirate radio with updates from pat man as they happen.
And now for A Walk In The Black Forest.

AM I TOO LATE?!
The internet and modern technology is eroding what little common sense I had to begin with. After being spoon-fed so many links and having phone & address books built into everything it was too much for me to imagine typing a member's name into a PM. That's nearly as old fashioned as dialling someone's actual phone number! I'd hate to think how dumb I would be if I grew up in this era of smart devices.
negative1 said: hmm?? when you create a new pm, by clicking on private messages -> send a new message: you just put the members name in the recipient box... what's so hard about that? you don't need to dig up old posts or anything like that..
Well that certainly makes sense. But I'm not that new and I didn't know you could do it that way - one link in the first post might stop other challenged people for asking for invites in the thread.
The first post says to contact walkingdork, but for new members it is not very clear how to do this. You have to track down one of his posts for a PM link. Maybe Harmy could link walkingdork's name to the MySpleen thread in the first post? But yeah, it helps to read it as well.
PM sent.
Woo-hoo! Thanks msycamore.
I recommend msycamore's stuff for Star Wars and Empire but anyone who wants harder to find poster scans (about 2000x3000 px) should try here:
It's not a free site, but 5 euros (6-7 bucks) gets you 100 credits (50 poster downloads) and from my experience so far 90% of them are really high quality and better than those easily found elsewhere. A lot of international versions are there at high quality too.
I am thinking of making a post in this thread using thumbnails that link to the highest quality scan of each Star Wars poster, starting with the main one sheets. I will probably not download international versions for a while but if anyone wants to send missing scans to me I will include them in the post.
It is a pain in the neck searching this thread and finding low quality or removed poster art and it would be helpful to everybody that wants them to have an updated source that is all in one place.
Might it warrant a new thread so I can put this "thumbnail gallery" on the first page?

I've also converted them to NTSC since although PAL has a higher res, I can't STAND the 4% speed up (and I'm from Australia, where PAL is the standard :P!)
I thought pitch correction was easily implemented these days, or is it the video speed up that bothers you?

No but Star Wars (1977) was always filmed with a sequel in mind (either the cheaper Splinter In The Mind's Eye or the more expensive Episode 2 later V).
Sounds painful!

Discussion? Your first ever post in off-topic was a whiny rant about workplace behavior for people who have had something horrible happen to them.
Wrong. It was a whiny rant about hostile workplace behavior in which I used so-called horrible things for emphasis.
Funny thing is, it sounds like the guy you are describing might just be a jerk. But your OP immediately set things off on the wrong foot.
I agree. I shouldn't have tried to use anything for emphasis.
You should try hanging out in the Politics thread for a bit.
I doubt that I will.
But you've already got the formatting down perfectly!

Are you sure you're not doing something wrong? You need to stop listening to the radio or watching MTV or something...
Try living with my stupid fucking bitch of a sister, and you'll see that's impossible.
Ah, been there. Your Lil' Wayne is my New Kids on the Block.
I only just discovered People Under the Stairs. Not sure where they've been hiding :P The second album (Question in the Form of an Answer) didn't seem so great, but The Next Step and O.S.T. are pretty damn good. I suppose we should take this to the "KO and Tyr Discuss Hip-Hop" thread but anyway...
The 80s nostalgia got the better of me and I went to Pizza Hut. I'll be back to bitch about that soon ;)
edit - First listen must have gone awry, 2nd album is pretty damn good too.

Jurassic Five is always good, too.
If you don't like the album Quality Control, it's pretty safe to say you don't like hip-hop.
Are you sure you're not doing something wrong? You need to stop listening to the radio or watching MTV or something... "Hip-hop" artists in the top 40 are just like all the other fake R&B voice modulating douche bags. I have never heard a Lil' Wayne song in my life. I'm not saying you should like the genre, but those "artists" do not represent it.
Indy could become a Bond-like character who persists through various incarnations. I'm sure nobody would hate that idea...
