Star Wars OT & 1997 Special Edition - Various Projects Info (Released)
Time

Just watched the 20min SW77 sample. Wow! it really is hard to believe this came from GOUT, it is much more watchable than even your V3. The colors and level seem perfect.

The grain revealed looks a little weird sometimes though? Is it all from the GOUT? Or is some of it a result of your process? Or maybe the relatively low bitrate of the sample?

Thanks stretch009, I did see that one. It seems althor1138 wasn't happy with the first release? I did find it on a.b.sw with the dual video streams it's huge. Unfortunately after getting it all, it is already too corrupt to repair.

The only scenes where the color bleed/shift really caught my attention was the sunset (but it still looks cool), and the Leia hiding scene Asaki linked to with all the red looking a bit off. I was watching it pretty small though in 4:3. I could see how it might look worse blown up bigger? Really too bad, cause it looks so great aside from that.

It does look good. I watched the excellent Dark/Sega transfer of JSC epIV a couple days ago. I love the crisp, raw smear free look. Along with the Technidisc these are the best sources of epIV video (for my eyes anyway). Would really love to see what someone could do with a high bitrate anamorphic transfer of this source. With no Japanese subtitles, and no (or maybe minimal?) color correction / glitch cleanup.

STAR WARS - Special Widescreen Edition (Technidisc) (Released)
Time

I noticed you really pushed the bitrate with this . There's barely even any room for audio. After viewing multiple times comparing different audio with it, I think I'll fill that meager space with (1) Belbucus Mono @160 and (2) Schorman13's Digital '77 stereo @320. (that might push it, but it should be OK huh?)

edit: nope, it won't even fit on the disc. I ended up just using Belbucus Mono @320 I'm warming up to it as my favorite way to watch SW.

The only thing that really jumps out at me is the ending credits look a little crappy?

If you try this and the color is a tad "loud" that's what the knobs on your TV are for :)

Love it, thanks again man

Wanted: Technidisc (a.k.a., Smear-free '93) Trilogy: I now own it!!!
Time

After checking out many sources over the past weeks I've found msycamore's pull from the Technidisc (and of course Puggo's gem) to be my favorite so far. It has the feel of a film transfer to me and man the colors pop :) I've paired it with Schorman13's theatrical DD Stereo he found on a Japanese pressing for an amazing experience.

That said, there is definitely room for improvement. I really look forward to seeing what you can pull from those discs.

If you haven't got your players back it sounds like you need to call this guy? ;)

The Mono Mix Restoration Project (Released)
Time

I saw it in a theater opening weekend. Told my mom how great it was and saw it in the drive in shortly after. I don't know about the A/V part, but it was an amazing and memorable experience for me as a 10 year old boy. It was just as awesome in the drive in with one of those metal lo-fi speakerboxes hanging in the window.

I really like the mono on Puggo's restoration, even the narrow range seemed nostalgic. There is some weird clicking that distracted me a few times though, it sounded like it was coming from behind me?

The Mono Mix Restoration Project (Released)

I know I'm late, but I'd really like to hear this at high bitrate.

Can't find at a.b.starwars (1000 days), could someone post there or wherever?

Thanks :)

edit: doh! I guess I didn't look well enough. I found Belbucus mono FLAC posted to a.b.sw 70 days ago. It looks like someone already added the 1.017s at the beginning as Foobar tells me it is 2:01:07:424
