Star Wars: A New Hope [OUT ruLes 2.0] - AVCHD & BD RELEASED!

This is one of my first project and quality is far from excellent...

I beg to differ, it's one of the nicest looking LD transfers I've seen.

I remember seeing the stills posted above with the flaws, they probably even dissuaded me from checking this out earlier. I'm glad I finally decided to check it out, it looks great.

there will be an higher quality version in the future, take a look at this thread.

Uhmm, yeah I'm not a big fan of the SE. Added grain often bugs me too. Those shots do look pretty amazing though.

I think What I like about your OUT 2.0 is your lack of additional processing / color correction. The lighter DVNR on the pal LD's probably helps too. Also the fact that you capture a really great image with your gear.

A transfer of the Technidisc using gear like yours with no processing or color correction would be awesome. I love the sharper film look it has, scratches and all. I also prefer the more vibrant color over the whiter slightly muted color of the other LD's / GOUT.

My favorite sources out there now are Puggo's 16mm and msycamore's Technidisc. For Star Wars a non DVNR film look just feels right to me.

V12 looks noticeably better, and was an easy pick in all but frame 53500 where I couldn't really pick one over the other.

Funny, I feel almost completely the opposite.  V12 and V11 are usually not very noticeably different EXCEPT in 53500.  :-)  In that one V12 clearly wins (look at the antialiasing on the control panel).

I do see some minor difference on the control panel, but I'm still unable to pick between the two.

In all of the brighter outdoor shots V12 is an easy pick for me, they just look slightly crisper. In any case the difference is pretty small.

Here are a number of comparisons between SRV11 and SRV12. I've adjusted the settings for SRV12 somewhat.

Frame 4961 is very close too. But the V12 looks a tiny bit crisper, like the focus is dialed in slightly better. In fact it appears that's what you've done, taken a blurry out of focus mess and brought it more and more into focus. These frames look really amazing. I Can't wait to see what it looks like in motion.

 Very Nice!

I would not have believed that much detail was there to recover.

Team Negative1 - The Empire Strikes Back 1980 - 35mm Theatrical Version (Released)

Just saw the first few minutes and it's looking great!

Bit more beat-up than I prolly would have seen had I seen it in a movie theater, but that goes with the turf I suppose...

It gets better, the first few minutes are not indicative of the rest of the film. Some of it looks stunningly good. Though there is significant damage around the reel changes. and some pretty rough moments on Dagobah where someone may have paused, or handled the film?

The 720p worked great for me in XBMC. I just fired it up in MPC and it's working fine there too. Stuttering issues could be from too slow of a media source, flash drive or? Or a weak PC that isn't capable of keeping up.

Good luck figuring it out, it looks excellent.

I can't wait for a similar release of the first film.

Big thanks to everyone involved in making this project a reality.

Which version is better for the OT? Laserdisc or the limited edition 2006 2 disc dvd (GOUT)?
Time

The CGI creatures bug me so much I can't stand it. I cannot watch those versions.

I mostly like Harmy's, Puggo Grande, and msychamore's Technidisc (upgrade still possible? :) ). To get the most out of any LD source view at native resolution, or close to it.

I like DarkJedi's V3 too but prefer the non DVNR look. Still, it might be the go to if you want a very consistent look throughout the film.

If you're talking official releases of epIV, I'd say the Technidisc Laserdisc is the best. It has it's problems too, but DVNR isn't one. It and the japanese special collection set are the only releases not damaged by DVNR.

msycamore did a very nice transfer of the epIV Technidisc.

Info Wanted: What is the best official versions of the Prequel Trilogy movies?

I prefer to pretend they don't exist :)

I'd rather watch Plinkett's reviews than the actual movies.
