I’m not entirely opposed to the President’s DACA decision, if only it were part of a broader effort to curb presidential power. Truthfully, that executive order should never have been signed by Obama, regardless of how much you might agree with its effects. Congress should be initiating and following through on such changes.

If Trump were undoing a number of executive orders with a time limit, thus allowing Congress to implement things properly, I wouldn’t be opposed. That said, it doesn’t appear that his goal is actually to limit his own office’s power, but rather to do what is politically expedient for his far right base while still allowing Congress to fix the problem in the end. I don’t oppose DACA; just how it was implemented. And I don’t oppose its demise; just its reasoning.

Hopefully, Congress will reform immigration with an inclusive package for minors with something equivalent to DACA. I’ve long favored immigration reform.

I feel like I’m regurgitating a bunch of my favorite ideas from the ROTJ collaborative thread, but I’ve always liked the BTL-B Y-wing design and think it complements the OT’s Y-wing nicely.

That are the same ships.

The OT Y-Wings just have their armor panels removed because they are easier and faster to maintain this way.
Also the armor was total useless against modern fighters so it was already obsolete and just made the Y-Wings slower.

So it makes no sense to put them in ROTJ.

They are technically different ships: BTL-B vs BTL-A4. There probably is truth to what you say about the armor, but I don’t think Ady is beholden to any EU, nor does that lack of armor have to be consistently applied to all Y-wings. The Rebels are not as rag-tag a force as they used to be. That said, I personally am suggesting it because of the design, not out of any love for the EU.

Also, I’ve always loved the Macquarrie painting of the B-wings destroying a star destroyer and would love to see that in action.

I was sold a bedbug infested mattress by my landlord, and can’t get rid of the bugs and a refund for the mattress. This sucks.

I used to be an apartment manager, and we experienced bedbugs in our complex. Now that the mattress is in your house, I guarantee they’re not limited to the mattress. There are pesticides, but the most effective thing we found was food grade diatomaceous earth (we bought Exo Dust). It’s much more natural and healthier for humans than pesticides and seemed more effective too. I’ll see if I can find a link.

JEDIT: Not the same brand but it looks like the same product. Seriously, buy this and use generously and you’ll be alright!

I’ve always thought it strange that in an Empire with “a lot of command ships,” Vader only uses an Imperator-class star destroyer while the Emperor commandeered the Executor. Based on the above idea of having Vader arrive in the Executor, I thought it would be fun if the Emperor arrived in the Eclipse from the old EU. Of course this would present some story problems, such as where it went after dropping him off at the Death Star, or if it sticks around, based on existing footage, how would the Rebels destroy it and the Executor? Probably not a realistic addition, but a fun thought.

Police Video Continues To Confirm What Everybody Already Knows:

Cobb County, Georgia police officer Greg Abbott to nervous white woman at traffic stop: “We only kill black people.”

Unfortunately, the H-bomb kills all:

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-northkorea-nuclear/north-korea-says-it-has-developed-advanced-hydrogen-bomb-ready-for-icbm-idUSKCN1BD0VW

SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea said on Sunday it has developed an advanced hydrogen bomb that possesses “great destructive power” as U.S. President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe talked by phone about the “escalating” nuclear crisis.

The report by North Korea’s official KCNA news agency comes amid heightened regional tension following Pyongyang’s two tests of intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM) in July that potentially could fly about 10,000 km (6,200 miles), putting many parts of the mainland United States within range.

Under third-generation leader Kim Jong Un, North Korea has been pursuing a nuclear device small and light enough to fit on a long-range ballistic missile, without affecting its range and making it capable of surviving re-entry into the Earth’s atmosphere.

North Korea, which carries out its nuclear and missile programs in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions and sanctions, “recently succeeded” in making a more advanced hydrogen bomb, KCNA said.

“The H-bomb, the explosive power of which is adjustable from tens kiloton to hundreds kiloton, is a multi-functional thermonuclear nuke with great destructive power which can be detonated even at high altitudes for super-powerful EMP (electromagnetic pulse) attack according to strategic goals,” KCNA said.

“All components of the H-bomb were homemade and all the processes … were put on the Juche basis, thus enabling the country to produce powerful nuclear weapons as many as it wants,” KCNA quoted Kim as saying.

Juche is North Korea’s homegrown ideology of self-reliance that is a mix of Marxism and extreme nationalism preached by state founder Kim Il Sung, the current leader’s grandfather. It says its weapons programs are needed to counter U.S. aggression.

Kim Jong Un, who visited the country’s nuclear weapons institute, “watched an H-bomb to be loaded into new ICBM” and “set forth tasks to be fulfilled in the research into nukes,” KCNA said.

You forgot the rest of the quote that revealed it wasn’t likely an actual H-bomb.

The Prequel Radical Redux Ideas Thread
Time

I hear you, Bingowings, but I can’t help but feel supportive of his decision. Even if he gets through ROTJ:R and ANH:R HD quicker than he did ESB:R, it still will take a great deal of time to ever get through the prequels. There is so much wrong with them on so many levels. I feel it would require someone starting with the prequels who hasn’t already invested so much time in the OT. Aalenfae seemed to have a promising PT, and I believe he said he even finished his series once, but he also lost his work and has since disappeared. His talent and appreciation of the prequels showed a lot of potential.

In the end, though, I can’t help but feel like we need to work with some of the spinoffs. Perhaps the Obi-wan movie could be an episode in a fan-edited PT. Maybe R1 would serve as a new Ep. III. Perhaps something else will come up that could also fit in there. And while there is obviously a visual disconnect, I’ve never been opposed to editing one or two TCW movies to be part of a new PT. We’ll never get the PT we wanted, but the closest we could get will probably never come while working with the existing Eps. I-III.

Not sure if this is helpful for you, but it gives me solace/hope for a future PT I can call my own personal canon.

I’d like to suggest completely removing the Leia and Wicket scene. Add a bit of tension wondering where she is, and the Ewoks seem more of a threat if you haven’t seen one nibbling snacks from a stranger and frightened of helmets.

If it makes you feel better the fanedit I’m working on of the film does this. The thread is around here somewhere I don’t post in it much because I’m very on again off again when it comes to working on it, one of these days I’m just going to randomly surprise everybody with it being done.

But without that scene, how does Leia appear in Ewok the village?
And even if she gets there somehow, we don’t know why she wasn’t served for lunch, while Han is certainly getting prepared to be the dinner.
Because one thing is certain, that the Ewoks are not a friendy bunch, and they like to eat people, despite how they look like.
So it is not very realistic that a human female can talk herself out of being eaten, especially if she does not speak the language.
I guess it is safe to say, logically she can not be in the village, without building trust first, what the scene offers that you want to delete.

As you say, there is a logical connection that we make. She is seen there in a dress with braided hair - clearly not in danger. It doesn’t impact the main plot to not show how she got to be there safely, and actually sidetracks from the important plot points to some degree. It also sets a precedent of Ewoks not being a threat which makes the capture scene feel more like a game at the Teddy Bear Picnic.

You don’t have to cut the entire Wicket scene. You can just show his feet and appear as he approaches, use some darker music, then cut away. It makes the connection and implies danger, yet leaves out the cutsie stuff.

I’m aware of Ady’s plans for Boba Fett, but I will state my preference for him not being in the movie at all, then move on.

I thought this made for a truly brilliant way to justify Fett’s presence in the film and tie the first act with the rest better.

I would like to have a visible shield for the deathstar where, on the first approach of the rebels, ships are shattering! For example, in Rogue One, on Scraif by the Planetshield

I like this idea. Jambe Davdar included a supposed original but unused sound effect on Returning to Jedi and his own special effects of the ships crashing into the shield.

I hope for the inclusion of several deleted scenes that I think would add dramatic tension or character development: Luke building his lightsaber; colorized pilots; the Falcon gunners; and perhaps most importantly, Jerjerrod’s conflict. I feel this could have truly made the climax more powerful.

I have several ideas, but I hesitate to overwhelm Ady. As many will recall, I started a thread for a collaborative edit long ago. It was a pipe dream to be sure, but I feel there were many good ideas that could only be implemented by someone like Adywan. My ROTJ rough workprint is pretty crappy but I feel it showcased some ideas well enough, including/especially Jerjerrod’s conflict.
