Info: Droids and Ewoks, anybody ?
Time

Well, we are all simply mooches off of your efforts.  I want you to know how much it is appreciated.  You and Pittrek and Adywan all are doing projects that interest me, and of course you have real lives beyond OT.com.  I really do appreciate it, as well as empathize with your difficulties.  My wife and I have twins that were born at about 33 weeks and thus were in the NICU for close to a month.  I know that it can be hard and you of course need to give full attention to family and real life.

I feel like I'm always a nag when I ask everyone when things are coming, but I just can't help but be excited over all the work you all do.  Thanks again, and yes, I would probably suggest for your own sake as well as that of your fans that you make an imperfect release for now.  I know I said earlier that I wanted the pristine version, but this is probably the better option for now :)

I've never completely read through the thread but I was just now taking a better look at older posts, though I was simply skimming.

Here is someone's recreation of the full Coby episode for Droids:

Perhaps they have a source that could get you the missing footage.

Here also is a Spanish version:

I got the second from this site:

I am at work and can't listen to movies, so I may be wrong on the audio but perhaps these are some helpful leads.

I was looking on Myspleen and saw some suggestions that perhaps you make a "version 1.0" as Pittrek has done with Ewoks.  This may be the best way to go for the missing episodes for the time being.  I personally want the full episode if possible, and obviously would love the best quality possible, but if it takes some Frankensteining to piece together a complete set, I really don't mind.

If this is all useless, I apologize, and in any case, I do again thank you for all your efforts in this project.  I look forward to a completed version.

The crowd clears.  Indiana realizes that someone is standing behind him at a distance.  A swordsman begins flaunting his skills with a scimitar, back and forth, twisting and flipping.  Indiana stealthily removes his pistol from its holster and prepares to fire, just in case.  The swordsman continues showing off for a few more moments, but Indiana does nothing.  Then the swordsman charges, swings his sword down towards Indy's head.  He misses completely, and only at this point does Indiana discharge his weapon, killing the man on the spot.  We don't want Indy to come off as a bad guy after all by shooting first.

Not Star Wars, but LFL so close enough :P

"The Ewoks Project - Animated TV Series" DVD set (now on myspleen) (Released)
Time

I know I seem like the annoying guy who simply asks how progress is going, but I truly am grateful for your efforts.  I've been downloading and burning all of these and they really do look terrific.  Consider this my shout from the holy mountain:

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!

PS Pittrek, in spite of all my excitement, I should not neglect to ask you how you are doing.  I hope you are holding up okay in spite of your recent loss.

ANH:R - Stronger Vader edit: *** Released ***
Time

^I thought it was the only time in all three movies they actually managed to hit anything.  Definitely not SWAT tactics but it's nice to know that once upon a time Obi-Wan was correct: "Only Imperial stormtroopers are so precise."

While I tease, I too am watching this edit with interest and truly appreciate your approach.  I'd be interested in seeing how you tighten that scene up.

The Lion The Witch and The Wardrobe: 1979 Animated VS. 2005 Live-Action
Time

While I suspect you are right on many points, I hope you are wrong.  I want this series to succeed and be completed.  I actually really enjoyed The Silver Chair and wish they would press forward in the proper order, especially since the actor who played Eustace will be significantly older when (if) they do get around to it.

As for Prince Caspian, I again state that it was my favorite of the films.  I know it diverged from the book on many points, and the first time I saw it I was not that impressed.  However the most recent watching pleased me more than I expected and I decided that in many ways I liked it better than The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.  There were some aspects I actually enjoyed about the film that were not in the book, particularly the competitive egos of Caspian and Peter.

I actually liked the film.  Granted, it wasn't an entirely faithful interpretation, but I thought it stuck with the story pretty closely and in many ways gave each child more depth.  In the books they largely melded together, with only Edmund standing out, and only for part of the time.  But the film does have its weaknesses, including its emphasis on the action that was not really even discussed in the book.  It was indeed trying to cash in on the LOTR hype.  But at the same time, would it have appealed to as many if they didn't reveal more of the battle?  Again, I liked it.

It seems that the movies have gotten further away with each subsequent release.  Prince Caspian changed a lot more of the story (though it's actually my favorite of the three films), and Voyage of the Dawn Treader really made a completely different tale with similar themes.  One thing not present in the books but that I enjoy about the films is that the White Witch continues to be a threat to Edmund's integrity and his errors in the first story continue to haunt him.

Those are my thoughts.  I just felt I needed a new topic that was meaningful to me, but also wanted to look for a thread to bump :)

George Lucas cameo a la Hitchcock.

Uh, I mean...what a great idea!  Oh, wait, this is the Worst Edit Ideas thread?   I thought this was the Wizard Cool Ideas thread.  Heh heh *sweats*

In reality, I don't have a problem with this.  I was thinking more of a more prominent role when I wrote that, such as George missing his ride on a speeder or something (much like North by Northwest).  I honestly do think that the subtlety of his inclusion in the above shot is pretty cool, and I'm not simply succumbing to Infallible Adywan Syndrome when I say that.
