These guys, perhaps?
These guys, perhaps?
My thinking is that in ancient times, the Sith openly ruled the galaxy and used non-Force-sensitives as slaves, and that the people we see in ROS are descendents of people who bought into the claim that the Sith are the rightful rulers of the galaxy who the Sith hid on Exegol after open Sith rule of the galaxy ended.
I wish they had the stadium audience be all the pre-Sidious Sith.
Like the original trilogy, the sequel trilogy doesn’t show or talk about how civilians feel about the Republic, the First Order, the Resistance, etc. Rebels shows how people on Lothal feel but not how people anywhere else feel. I would have liked seeing people complaining about the Empire the way we see people complain about the Jedi in TCW.
Does anything come to mind?
The gold/silver boxes carried over the scheme from the 97SE VHS boxsets.
I know, but why I don’t know why they would go with a color scheme that had been abandoned by both the 2000 VHS box sets and by the prequel DVDs.
Did Lucas initially want Star Wars to return to the theaters every seven years and not be viewable any other way? I’ve seen Lucas quoted as saying, “Star Wars will never be on home video.” If this is true, I suspect that as VHS took off, movie studios stopped theatrical re-releases, so Fox said to Lucas, “Either we release Star Wars on VHS or nobody ever sees Star Wars again”, and then Lucas relented.
Pizza The Hutt in Space Balls made Jabba in ROTJ worth it.
What?! What is it about Jabba you don’t like?
The only thing I don’t like is the language he speaks. No way they could make that gaping mouth make those vowel sounds & have it sync together. They should’a made his language more frog-like so his mouth could do what it does & the sounds would look believable.
I’m not saying I don’t like anything about Jabba. I thought people didn’t like that part of the movie.
Pizza The Hutt in Space Balls made Jabba in ROTJ worth it.
Sony’s Star Wars soundtrack license expired and Disney only published the OSTs from when the movies were released, not the extended OSTs that were released in 1997.
ANH should have been Episode V at minimum so that there could be an additional movie before it about the formation of the Rebel Alliance.
It’s in the ROTJ novelization. Along with the name “Palpatine”, which isn’t in the film of ROTJ either.
Don’t forget the ANH novelization.
The Emperor’s guards are called “Royal Guards” and Luke calls the Emperor “your highness”, but we already knew in 1983 that he’s a politician who got the legislative body to vote absolute power to him, not someone who inherited a throne.
Another thing the PT got wrong.
As I said, it was already known in 1983 that Palpatine was elected to be the Republic’s head of state. In this case, the prequels were just showing what was already known.
The Emperor’s guards are called “Royal Guards” and Luke calls the Emperor “your highness”, but we already knew in 1983 that he’s a politician who got the legislative body to vote absolute power to him, not someone who inherited a throne.
Maybe they should have had him appear as a holocron or through an object like Lord Momin’s helmet instead of in the flesh?
Sorry - who is Lord Momin and what is he from?
And what about him is it you like?
He’s in a bunch of comics. He’s a Sith Lord who refused to take on an Apprentice and was fascinated by the “art” of mutilating animals and people screaming in fear. He lived on in a mask that could possess people.
I like Lord Momin.
Maybe Lucas was considering having a fallen Whill be Vader’s master?

Thrawn has no force sensitivity. The main villains of the saga, namely Palpatine and Snoke, have always been force sensitive, so it could be underwhelming to break the tradition for the final movie of the saga.
Tarkin isn’t Force-sensitive.
McDiarmid made me love it. However, I would have liked confirmation that he didn’t essence transfer into a clone like he did in Dark Empire and I wish they had draining Kylo and Rey be his plan from the beginning.
Nonetheless, I would have preferred that the big bad be the founder of the Sith or a fallen Whill.
We have this thread for “the EU”, so I figured it would make sense to create this thread too.
When Kylo Ren meets Darth Sidious, he asks how Sidious is alive and Sidious responds, “Did you really think I was foolish enough to send my real body to the second Death Star?”
Sidious tells Ren to bring Rey to him rather than to kill Rey.
Sidious is called “Darth Sidious” rather than “Palpatine”.
When Rey arrives, Sidious immediately drains Rey and Ben Solo rather than trying to essence transfer into Rey.
Have the Sovereign Protectors dress like they do in Crimson Empire and use their weapons from that or dress like and use the weapons of the Shadow Guards from The Force Unleashed.
Regardless of my mood, my headcanon always excludes anything set after ROTJ in the Legends universe.
What would you want? Dooku and Maul in all three movies? Include Talzin and Savage Opress as well?
I figure if Tatooine had a droid factory, that would give some background to the droid-scavenging ways of the Jawas and the Tusken Raiders.
So, the same three movies. Same plots.
Ah, so you recommend Terrance Stamp as Snoke? I could see it.
Snoke is Valorum, seeking revenge on the Skywalkers for helping Palpatine.
