Armies of Sith.
Armies of Sith.
I can't wait to learn about how the Sith were founded almost 2000 years before TPM and about Palpatine's life in ancient times. I want to learn about the TRUE history of the galaxy.

Darth Maul....back from the dead....with Robo-Legs is canon
The canon nazis deserve it. They've bullied me so much on TFN.

I don't see how this is anything but good. All I care about, really, is the new films. If they had to fit with old canon, that would have sucked, plain and simple. No creative freedom there. This is much better.
And new EU stories will not be 110% canon. The thing they're saying about every new thing having the same continuity for the first time is just them making the new EU seem better than the old EU. I imagine them having as much bearing on the new films as the old EU had on the old films.
And anyway, old EU stories will still be in print (they're not rewriting history like someone we know), and new content can and might still take inspiration from them.
Wins all around, I think.
This. Completely and absolutely.

Is this the entire list now?
If the EU is dead, Plagueis might not have ever existed, and if Plagueis never existed, he can't be the villain of episodes 7-9.

If the folks at TFN don't like it, then there is a pretty good chance it is a good thing.
Correct.

I loathe the whole notion of "official" canon, so consider me one of those people who aren't pleased with the idea of making the films and the NuEU 110% compatible with one another. Continuity should be an option, not a prerequisite.
Seconded.

Not funny.
You had no problem with a post about prequel fans murdering Simon Pegg.

Really curious as to how TFN is reacting to this.
Tomorrow's news: Iger murdered by EU fans.
What Tim said. I'm so haply to say goodbye to Caedus and Krayt.
Do http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Typhojem and http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Immortal_gods_of_the_Sith count?

"canon war"
I find those hilarious. The passion with which they'll flame each other over whether or not something is canon is quite a sight.

they permanently ban people now for preferring the OT over the PT.
Pretty much. What we call "preferring the OT" they call "trolling". They also call preferring the OT over the EU "trolling".
An inconsistency exists over whether or not the great schism that spawned the Sith was the First Great Schism.

Darth Bane concept art for The Clone Wars:

Kinda neat, but why doesn't it line up with the other images/toys/covers we've seen of him?
I wouldn't have cared, but wouldn't a lot of people complain at great length if that had happened?
I guess GL thought the orbalisks looked silly.
The fact that Leia wasn't supposed to be Luke's sister yet heard Luke's call for help (as well as the fact that Luke calls out to her in the first place) in ESB definitely supports the idea that anyone can use The Force.
Change "Wars do not make one great" to "Wars make one wonderful" and have all of the training that Yoda gives Luke be about saber combat.

I've heard that Lucas was a big fan of Dark Empire, so I wouldn't be surprised if he got the idea from there.
A very intriguing theory. I'll never look at Dark Empire the same way again.
The book makes it clear that Yoda and Palpatine weren't intended to be lightsaber-users. I wonder whether or not Lucas changed his mind on that when making TPM, AOTC (we know that he had changed his mind for Yoda at least by this point), or ROTS.
Tobar said:
Even with Lucas' anyone can learn the Force thing he still sticks to the idea that some people are inherently stronger in their connection to it than others
Just before one person is born with a strong connection to The Force doesn't mean that someone else can't develop a strong connection through their actions. One can be born muscular, but someone who isn't can become muscular by lifrimg weights.
That the Clone Wars didn't involve evil clones of good guys.
My favorite part of Rebels so far is that the inquisitor isn't a sith.

Well to me it seems a bit ridiculous to have a 60 years old grandpa fighting around as bounty hunter.
1. Obi-Wan's age didn't seem to be a problem.
2. Boba could always get himself cloned.
