As for members here actually owning one of these rare IB prints then I would like to see some proof of those claims.

My previous post contains more-than-enough information to track down proof.

It takes less effort to aquire the proof than it does to aquire a projector.

What do you HATE about the EU?

BBY/ABY being the official calendar of the New Republic. A regime making its own formation year 0 seems Orwellian to me and I'm not sure what purpose the New Republic doing that serves. The New Republic should use the same calendar that was used before The Empire was formed and the Battle of Yavin as year 0 should remain exclusively out-of-universe.

any feed back for how the 1st installment went?

I definitely enjoyed it. I love how you took the concepts behind the prequels and improved the execution.

I think that you should drop "younglings" and "padawans" in favor of "apprentices". I also think that Palpatine is just as important as the Skywalkers. Also, I would drop the concept of the Sith and change "Darth Maul" to simply "Maul". In the OT, nobody cared about Palpatine and Vader being Sith. An organization devoted to killing your master makes no sense and "Darth" being title is silly.

No one has seen a lightsaber really since Ep3

All those who saw the fight on the Death Star 1 - Dead

No one saw a lighsaber in ESB apart from Luke & Vader

All those who saw a Lighsaber in Jedi - Dead

Apart from our 'Heroes', no one in the galaxy has really seen a lighsaber in battle since the Jedi were in power....A long time ago!

Furthermore, in Star Wars (1977), the Jedi are seen by other characters as a joke and as the underdogs fighting against a technologically superior foe. If the movies made since then are anything to go by, technology should be the underdog. I wonder if TFA will present Jedi as underdogs like the good old days of 1977.

I would have made Luke Skywalker's real name (insert a first name here) Vader instead of making Darth Vader's real name Anakin Skywalker. This way Obi-Wan really did have a pupil named Darth Vader who turned to the dark side, joined the Empire, and betrayed and murdered the Jedi. This means that Imperial propaganda doesn't have to explain where Vader came from and Vader's "my old master" dialogue with Tarkin doesn't hint at Tarkin knowing anything. Instead of Luke not knowing about Anakin because of Tatooine being isolated, Luke doesn't know about Anakin because "Anakin" never existed.

Of course it's not a contest. GOUT looks that much better. In GOUT, snow is white, Star Destroyers are gray, and 3PO is gold. On Blu-Ray, snow is blue, Star Destroyers are also blue, and C-3PO is green.

Well.....if you exclude the jaggies, the digital noise, the optical grain, the limited colour palette ect.....then the laserdisc/GOUT might have a better chance!.

Jaggies: not noticable

Digital noise: not noticable

optical grain: it's called film

limited color palette: I didn't know that gold 3PO indicates a more limited color palette than green 3PO.

Well they might not be noticeable on a crap display.............

I doubt that all of my displays are "crap".

If your display does not show the below....then I would suggest that it is:

My display shows the below. The below looks awesome to me.

that is fair enough mate......I enjoy the GOUT....I enjoy that VHS tape which predates the GOUT by 24 years!......I enjoy Star Wars!

Agreed.

@Handman

35mm release prints were notoriously inconsistent from one print to the next and even from the showing of a print to the next showing of the same print!

It is one of the reasons(if not the main reason) why they have been phased out.

Francis Ford Coppola admitted h could not remember what the original Godfather looked like......who can blame Lucas for being the same with Star Wars.

Despite the inconsistencies you claim, I'd take that any day to the consistently messed-up colors of the BD.

Because the colours were so consistent on the laserdisc or on the VHS tapes?!

 I was referring to 35mm.

So you have  your own personal un-faded  35mm print from which you can reference whether the blu ray is true to it....or not?

No, but from this : http://savestarwars.com/technicoloribscreening.html

It is clear that the BD colors are incorrect, and because of Harmy's and Negative -1's efforts, I soon won't need my own print.

Plus it's common sense that snow is white, Star Destroyers are gray, and 3PO is gold.
