If an adult wants to kill him or herself with a vice like cigarettes, that’s not my business. It’s my business when they are puffing in my face, and since smoking has generally been outlawed in most places I would have to worry about it, I’m fine with the way things are right now.
This is what I’ve been trying to say. You’re an adult at 18 and you go off to Syria at 18.
Maybe he works for Big Cig?
Big Cig actually wants to raise the legal age in order to increase the “forbidden fruit” appeal. They have sponsored legislation to raise the smoking age many times and studies show that a higher smoking age makes more people smoke, not less.
I also want to add that the precedent is damgerous. If 18-20 aren’t adults on one thing, what’s to prevent 18-20 year olds from loosing other rights in the future? What if it leads to the 26th amendment getting repealed? What if the pipe-smoking characters in the OT and Marion Ravenwood get censored for “setting a bad example?”
8 years of constantly hearing about how Obamacare and gun control are the end of our democracy, how illegal immigrants are the cause of unemployment and crime, and how ISIS is going to wipe us out make it hard to tell which issues are actually important.
We cannot allow the smoking age to go up to 21! It’s an assault on the right of 18-20 year olds to decide what to do with their own bodies! Write to your municipal, county, state, and federal representatives about this!
From age 14-17 I chose all of my friends based on whether or not they were 18, making them old enough to by me cigarettes. Don’t let those crooks at the capital ruin it for the current generations.
When I was 14-17 I didn’t have any friends so I immersed myslef in the Star Wars universe to give myself hope. The destruction of the Sith at the end of ROTJ to me symbolized the possibility that I would one day have friends, so I became passionate about the Sith never returning, hence Frink’s grudge against me.
I also had no friends. I immersed myself in sex, drugs, and rock and roll though; you made a better decision than me 😉
I just realized that I spelled “buy” without a ‘u’, how embarrassing!
I edited my post after you responded to it. I wouldn’t have been interested in sex, drugs, and rock and roll if I had friends. I just wanted friends to play video games and see movies with.

However, the “forbidden fruit” effect means that the more people you forbid from doing something, the more of those people do it. More people stop drinking on their 21st birthday than start. The drinking age is 21 because of drunk driving, and there’s no such thing as smoked driving. Also of interest is that the states where the smoking age is 19 still want to raise it to 21. Did you have any 19-year-old or 20-year-old friends?
Somewhat related is that when I was 14-17, my parents forbade me from having any friends so I immersed myslef in the Star Wars universe to give myself hope. The destruction of the Sith at the end of ROTJ to me symbolized the possibility that I would one day break free from my parents and have friends, so I became passionate about the Sith never returning, hence Frink’s grudge against me.

Meh.
Just curious, but why respond if you don’t care?
Why post it if you aren’t under 21? Why do you care?
Because I care about things that affect others.
Well it’s good you have your priorities straight. Of all the problems in the world, teens not getting to smoke should definitely be at the top of all our lists.
If this is actually a troll post, it’s a masterstroke. I don’t remember you every saying anything entertaining, so it would seriously be one of the better troll posts I can remember. Bravo?
What one’s prirorities should he is completely subjective. I’m also aware that we don’t have the best history together, so I’m going to assume that if someone else made the exact same post, you wouldn’t have cared, let alone suspect trolling.

I believe you. I don’t doubt your words one bit, but if that’s the case, what did you mean by “meh”?

Wait, you can drink legally?
Yes, although I’m not drunk at the moment.
We cannot allow me to post until I’m 21! It’s an assault on the senses of everyone else here to read my posts with their own eyes! Write to Jay and the mods about this!
Actually, I am 21.

I’d only have one Inquisitor in the entire show.
Don’t remember if it was really ruined in TCW: Yoda just happened to meet a fake Darth Bane ghost.
When Lord Haseo says “ruined,” he means “differed from the Darth Bane novels.”

Did I bring him up out of context? No I didn’t so what’s your point pal?
You’ve called TCW Darth Bane an “abomination” twice, you said that Darth Bane was right to destroy the Brotherhood of Darkness in spite of the fact that the Rule of Two was created to prevent infighting, and here you said that TCW ruined Darth Bane.
Was it neccesary to mini-mod?

thread title is “WHAT OTHER SPINOFFS SHOULD DISNEY MAKE?”
How relevant is discussing about rebooting the PT ? Not relevant at all.
Thank you. I want to see a spin-off about the Hundred-Year Darkness (the Jedi-Sith split).
Now there are two of them!
What were the McGuffin’s in ESB and ROTJ?
ESB: Luke
ROTJ: the second Death Star
That there’s no Grand Moff to be seen anywhere. Star Wars (1977) established that the Grand Moffs have “direct control of their territories.”

Let’s waste valuable resources on finding one man when we have a solar-system destroying behemoth breathing down our necks.
My one big gripe with TFA is that it couldn’t make up its mind on what the mcguffin is. It kept abrubtly switching between the map to Luke and Starkiller Base. In contrast, the Death Star is consistently the mcguffin in Star Wars (1977).
Well that’s great and all, but I don’t want to have to read an EU book to understand a movie. Books are great to add to movies, but not to do part of the movie’s job in explaining what’s going on.
After all, Plinkett can’t read.
