When you insert a single line break in the editor, it creates a single line break within the current paragraph. Two new lines are required for a new paragraph, which is why the last line in these examples ends up bundled with the quote. Pretty sure this is by design in Markdown.

However, I think I can mitigate it by inserting an empty bracket at the end of the quoted post in the reply form. That way, even if this happens…

Reply here.

…it’ll work.

That will probably help mitigate it. Not sure how much time you need to spend on something that sounds like markdown’s issue.

Baby Driver (2017)

One of the slickest, best action movies I’ve ever seen.

I keep hearing good things about this movie. Oh what shall I do?

Steps:

  1. Drive to theatre.
  2. Purchase ticket to Baby Driver.
  3. Enjoy one of the slickest, best action movies you will have ever seen.
  4. RINSE AND REPEAT

P.S. Give the soundtrack a listen for good fun too.

Still not clear. I guess it shall consult my magic 8 ball in the future when I need guidance.

If someone quotes a post, but doesn’t include a blank line between the post they are quoting and their own, it looks like their response is part of the post they are quoting.

see: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/Harmys-THE-EMPIRE-STRIKES-BACK-Despecialized-Edition-HD-MKV-and-AVCHD-v20-NOW-AVAILABLE/id/12511/page/138#1087312

If you quote that, you can see that it is indented with a different level, but the style it is rendered with makes it look like it isn’t.

I downloaded the MKV file on Uloz and it is corrupted.

Are you sure? Isn’t that posted as series of rar files? So which rar is corrupt?

I don’t know. The entire download when I use Winzip says that it is corrupt. I can watch the movie but I can’t skip chapters.

Does your download include the readme file? it include checksums, and that is the best way to determine if your file is corrupt.

I enjoyed reading this, maybe it will make you all happy for a brief moment.

Honestly it just made me a little depressed.

At least you felt something though, most political things this days are like celery at a party. I eat a few to pass by the awkward moments, but i barely notice it.

My biggest grievance is that being incredibly open with new users allows for many to simply “hit and run”. Once they’ve procured what they came here for, they’re gone for good. I understand some people don’t want to be apart of this community, but the least they could do is stick around in the General discussion topics – there’s plenty to talk about here.

Why do you feel that people must stay in this community even if they don’t want to?

Once these hit-and-runners are gone, they have absolutely zero impact on the forum whatsoever. I don’t understand why people would have a problem with them.

yes yes yes. and the admins/mods approve. Imagine if the whole internet worked that way? I am more than happy to have the majority of the tired, huddled masses just move through this site getting the information they need, and being on their way. if everyone felt they had to contribute first, we would have even more crap posts than we already have.

Forgot to post this when it actually happened, but I went to a comic con last weekend in Worcester, MA and scored a bunch of Star Wars schwag. The 501st had a charity raffle where I ended up winning a gift basket full of figures and legos and stuff. Also got a Millennium Falcon model kit, the 40th anniversary black series Luke action figure with the 77 packaging, and the coup de grace, a Sebastian Shaw Anakin Skywalker action figure from the 90s.

You made out quite well! that is awesome.

^Those are very good points. I hadn’t considered new users not even seeing the Topics page. In that case, have you considered adding a page between the ‘register’ button and the sign-up form that gives some helpful info? Something as simple as this would be nice:

Welcome to our community! Before we get started, did you know:

If you’re completely new to the forums, the General Star Wars Discussion is a great place to start.

If you’re interested in a particular project, some of the most popular are available on public torrent sites, no registration required. Many smaller projects are hosted on Myspleen.org, and you can ask for an invite here after you’ve registered.

(‘Yes, I’ve got it!’ button)

Yes, a general welcome and link to rules etc makes sense as part of New user registration.
