I'm fine with the MKV and the AVCHD. I just need a program to burn the DVD with.

You should try multiAVCHD.  This program specializes in all things HD.  I've converted many HD files to SD-DVD with it and you should be able to use all the audio tracks you desire.

Well, now that I read this a bit closer it would seem that you're wanting to put the audio "you" want to hear with Harmy's video, while retaining the DVD9 menu's for a DVD5?

I'm not sure you'll be able to just port over that menu without issue.  This is not my forte but I believe you won't be able to use just one "fix all" program for this.  It's going to take a little work and patience. 

No I'm not trying to retain the menus. I'm trying to burn the mkv file to a dvd. However, I would still like the DVD to include the additional audio tracks and I would also like the quality to still be fair. The only program that I've used so far that has allowed to include the audio tracks is ConvertXtoDVD. I tried it and it work what the quality was a bit boxy in some areas. The program I prefer to burn DVDs with is Nero but Nero will wont incorporate the other soundtracks, only one.

But won't that just give me the file? I have the file. I just need a good program to burn it to a DVD to that will also allow me to include the audio tracks and retain a good portion of the picture quality. Also the homepage to Myspleen just simply asks for a username and password. I haven't got one for that site and there's no option for me to create one.

Thanx for the response. I'll looked forward to seeing v2.1. I haven't checked in here in a while so I have one more question. The shadows on the Falcon in the shot before Han goes 'You're all clear kid...." etc. They look a bit deep. Can you explain that?

A small correction - CGI DID exist in 1977. Even the original 1977 version contains a few CGI shots, but they're only on various computer monitors etc.

Harmy. Two quick questions. I think I may have asked already but if not I'll ask again. How come you didn't use GOUT upscale for the shot of Han going 'Yes, I'll bet you have!' and also the shot of the fleet taking off (with the man in the tower) in the original it was four ships in each row but in yours its 3?

I'm 19 and whatever the argument may be I will forever put my foot down and support the original versions of the Star Wars Trilogy 'til my dying day!! Star Wars was a film released in 1977 therefore it should remain a film released in 1977!!!!! Same thing with ESB and ROTJ. I always agree that films should be presented for future generations in their original forms. I don't want to see CGI in films that were released in a time where CGI was not in existence yet!! I don't want to see a CGI King Kong or CGI shark in Jaws. Not only CGI but audio changes bother me too. I hated the 5.1 remix of Jaws and will only watch that film in the original mono. Now I'm not saying that George should not express his vision and has no right to change his films. The part that bothers me is his refusal to give the DIE-hard SW fans their option of viewing the theatrical cut in addition to the Special Editions. For instance, when Spielberg made the changes to E.T. he made sure that when the new version was put on DVD that Universal would package it with the original as well. Thankfully since then he says he regrets the changes and the new Blu-Ray/DVD of E.T. will indeed be the original. George is going as far as to say that Greedo shooting first was always the case. His explanation is because its done in closeups it gives the impression that Han shot first. Pfffft how stupid does he think we are? As far as the Blu-Rays go I dont have a Blu-Ray player nor do I have a desire to get one at the moment. I've heard about the Blu-Ray changes to the Trilogy and I don't want those editions. It may be George's vision but trying to erase history by throwing todays technology into an already finished product is wrong!!! Star Wars is a 1977 film, Empire Strikes Back is a 1980 film, and Return of the Jedi is a 1983 film!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any version prior to 1997!!!!! Well let's see. My first Trilogy was the 1995 VHS set. This was the originals remastered in THX and was the last time until 2006 that the originals surfaced on video. I played the HELL out of that trilogy. Then I became interested in the Special Editions for small reasons. For instance I knew Jabba the Hutt was in ANH and wanted to check that out. I got that trilogy on VHS when I was about 5 or 6. It was interesting but I didnt have to second guess myself when I had to decide for myself which I preferred. I had already played out my '95 set and that was still the version that I played more. Another reason for this was because my dad wanted me to keep the SE trilogy in good shape and he kept it in a cupboard when I wasnt using it. That was ok since I preferred the originals anyway and would watch the SE's on occasion. I then became interested in the 1992 set. This was the last editions of the originals on VHS to feature the original poster art. I knew about this set because a close friend of my mother's had those editions. I used to borrow their tapes even though I had the '95 and '97 sets. When I was about 8 I finally got my own set of the '92 tapes. I played out those tapes a lot as well possibly just as much as the '95 set. Since then I've gotten more trilogy's. I got the Widescreen VHS sets of the '92, '95, and '97 releases. I also have the '04 DVDs and '06 DVDs. Other VHS releases I have include the '92, '95, and '97 sets SEALED, the '84 VHS releases, the 1990 box set, and more. Right now I suppose the editions I prefer is my '95 box set, the '92 box set, and the '06 DVDs even though they're poor transfers. I also have recently enjoyed Harmy's DeSpecialized edition.

I've seen your cut and its fantastic. The remastered version is the best. Two quick questions. You mentioned you had to slow down the first few frames of the shot where Han says 'Yes I bet you have'. Why not use the GOUT for that shot? Also the shot of the fleet taking off (with the white flashes) in the original it was four ships in each row but in your cut it looks like 3 ships in each row. Was that intentional or was that an accident?
