Someone has this preserved on MySpleen.
Someone has this preserved on MySpleen.
This wasn’t originally in mono but IMO the surround mix on the BD for NeverEnding Story is a big effed up mess. Not so much sound effects changed or whatever but just over all mixed entirely different than the original. Reverb added or in some cases removed or certain sounds that are very clear in one case but not the other. Examples.

BD
Note there’s reverb in Falkor’s voice in the original.

Way too much reverb added in the BD mix in this scene. If it matters some streaming versions still use the original mix for this film.
2001 DVD (2011 reprint, same logo appears on 2001 VHS)
Actually the 2001 VHS has some wind and jingling sound effects at the start of the logo before the music starts but otherwise same logo.
Willy Wonka’s opening logo has been plastered at least five times.

1994 VHS (1995 reprint, same logo appears on 1991 VHS). At first glance you might think this is the same logo on the ‘84 and ‘86 VHS but if you look closely the clouds are in a different position.

My vote no. The suspense of the Wampa scene is reduced by showing it too much, expanding Cloud City is nice but IMO calls too much attention to itself, using Ian would’ve been better if he wasn’t delivering his lines like he’s literally reading from cue cards, recycling footage from ROTJ to show Vader returning to his shuttle was pointless, and, no, getting rid of ‘Bring my shuttle’ for me was a big no no. I will agree though ESB is the more tolerable of the SEs.
There’s also this shot from this video on the Star Wars Instagram.

I can tell from the compositing of the speeders it’s from the SE.
Mission Hill had the majority of its music replaced on video. Thankfully there’s a very good restoration on MySpleen.
That 70s Show on streaming, DVD, and BR is a mess of music replacement and syndication edits depending on which version you have access to, but to my knowledge none of them have the original music despite frequent claims to the contrary.
The first season (at least) of Scrubs is missing a large chunk of the original music on DVD and streaming.
The new Netflix dub of Evangelion took out Fly Me to the Moon on every episode for licensing reasons (I’ve made a version of this new dub with the music restored myself).
I actually had involvement in restoring a bunch of music to episodes of That 70s Show, though sadly I’m still missing a bunch of episodes (most of them from season 2)
And literally to show off my work I uploaded snipets from the restorations on YT, and surprisingly I’ve had little trouble from this. (there were only two cases where a video got taken down cause of the music featured)
Off topic but do you know why the mouth effects on the Aerosmith cut outs have been removed from later releases?? I think even TV reairings have used this version too.
(Not my video)
it’s clearly due to an overlook in the remastering process when the widescreen versions were created, they forgot to animate the mouths and eye wink (ironically the clip you posted is actually the version where the music cue was changed from the original FOX version)
here’s the restored song version I uploaded, skip to 3:03 for the specific moment https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UpU6TtkVyjQ
Nice.
The Mill Creek releases have restored the original song throughout? If so, I’ll update my post.
Yep. First post.

Married… With Children: Sinatra’s “Love and Marriage” was replaced with an instrumental version on the season three DVD.
That was on the Sony releases. The remaining seasons also had the song replaced. Also it wasn’t even an instrumental version of that song. It was a completely different piece of music. Fortunately this isn’t an issue in the Mill Creek releases.

They kinda did here.
I can see your Face is as big as mine! 😎
Funny. If they really wanted to spoof the Faces covers they could have used a Spaceball trooper instead of Barf.
At least they’re not the awful “Faces” covers this time.
Ironically that was my first trilogy set.
Honestly the only time I’ve ever liked video art work that wasn’t based off an OG poster for any movie(s) was the Universal Monsters VHS series of the ‘90s.
Thank you for those oojason but sadly I need basically all of the edge of Vader’s helmet. In the meantime I did send a message to the dude who made this cover to see if he’d be willing to send me his copy textless though he has been MIA on this site since February.
Also sent a message to SkyderHouseMafia to see if he had anything else.
First link says file is unavailable. I checked out SkyderHouseMafia’s gallery. He has two with less cropping on the right but unfortunately they both lack R2 and 3PO.
The metal case Best Buy offered with the GOUT releases wasn’t that bad either.
I’ll check those! Thanks! 😃
Anyone got a textless copy of this…
…but with more image on the far right like in this poster???
I didn’t actually mind the GOUT covers. At least the posters the fronts were mimicking were on the back.
True, true though I will say this. They opted not to use the original posters yet used the image of Han and Leia from the ESB poster anyways!
Anyone notice they used a ROTS image of Vader on the ROTJ cover??
New covers.

Has EOD been remastered in HD though?
Nah sadly it still looks SD.
