I don't know how much this would help, but it looks like someone posted most of the filmed segments, as well as some pre-production rehearsal footage, on Youtube.

Part 1
Part 2

The quality is nothing to write home about, but it is worth nabbing, if only because it's virtually the whole thing, and the dialogue is hilarious (e.g. "Now, we go bust a move" and "It's a T-1,000,000"!). The best part is the two actors playing John and the T-800 (the live-action versions) hamming up their lines.

I'm just saying that there is still this dynamic there where you see Jabba starting the race, you see him hounding Han for money, Han talks his way out of it, but it isn't until ROTJ that we see Jabba in all his crimelord glory. To me it's not a total loss.

I agree that there is some of the same information in the ANH Jabba scene that was already found in the Greedo scene (likely they added much of this repeated information to the Greedo scene when he figured he was just abandoning the Jabba scene). But at the end of the day it just is what it is. I really like having Jabba in there, I like Han's dialogue with Jabba, but at the same time I wouldn't want to ditch the Greedo sequence because that is a really cool exchange as well. Sure I guess he could have gotten away with just having Jabba ask Han why he shot Greedo, but I really like the Greedo confrontation.

For me the coolness of both scenes outweighs the fact that some information is repeated.

What you are saying is very true. When I saw the SE version of New Hope in the theatres, I was thinking (for the first 25 or so minutes, anyway) that this was the greatest theatre experience ever. Then I saw Jabba, and I thought to myself, "Why are they repeating information that I just heard a couple minutes ago?" It reminds me of the "Aliens" special edition, where we saw Hadley's Hope before the alien attack. You lose a lot of impact in the following scenes, as well as having unneeded exposition.

Idea: an X 3 edit...
Time
The people I'm most angry with are the editors. I can't believe that they would cut out all that stuff, especially when it explains the story holes and errors that were in the theatrical release. Jean doesn't call herself Phoenix? Well she does in the cut scene. Iceman only gets to freeze one person? He and Colossus get to take down a massive villain in a deleted scene. Beast and Storm are underused? Well, they certainly get their moments in the deleted scenes. And then, there are great shots, like Phoenix causing Alcatraz to blow apart with her mind (the extended version) that could have been one of the pivotal shots of the finale, and it was all of ten seconds, and they still didn't use. Look at all the stuff they cut out:

-action scenes that gave ALL the heroes involved something/someone to fight
-character development scene
-explanations to characters (Phoenix being conflicted about who she is, Rogue not taking the cure and accepting that she is a mutant, Magneto asking Jean to help)
-great special effects shots

It's hilarious listening to their reasoning for cutting these scenes. The filmmakers even say that they cut the ending with Rogue not taking the cure because "if you like Rogue, watch this scene instead of the other one." They even cut the scene where Iceman defends his duties as an X-Men, and chastises Logan for thinking that they're not ready, because it went "too long". Unbelievable.

Now, I really liked the film, in spite of it's faults. There is some really good stuff in the deleted scenes, including the extended fights and character scenes, and they should really be edited in. If you are planning to go ahead with this, Mr. Spence (I lack any knowledge of how to edit films), I could try to put together a DVD rom folder with pictures of the missing scenes and any storyboards I can find that aren't on the official release.

Idea: X-Men 3 - Deleted Scenes - fan edit?
Time
With the official DVD coming out Tuesday, I guess I should probably update you folks on the deleted scenes they're including on the disc, just in case anyone ever wants to take a stab at it (no pun intended):

The following deleted scenes are ALL on the U.S. DVD , as far as I know:

(from SuperHeroHype.com)

1) Xavier Voice-Over For Main Titles
Continuing the tradition of the first two films, a chunk of exposition. Dropped because it was deemed superfluous. (I don't think this is the same speech as the one he gives in the trailer.)

2) Alternate Version: Beast Meets Logan
A slightly more antagonistic first encounter between Wolverine and Beast.

3) Jimmy in Laboratory
Shots of Leech being scanned, and various scientific bits of equipment being used to create the cure.

4) Plastic Weapons Manufacturing
Shots of soldiers manufacturing the plastic guns used in the final battle.

5) Pyro Tells Magneto About The Cure Announcement - Clean Shaven Version
Short "They just announced it!" scene between Pyro and Magneto.

6) Pyro Tells Magneto About The Cure Announcement - Bearded Version
A different version of the same scene, only with a bearded Gandalf - err - Magneto.

7) Alternate Version: Guard Yells at The President
A more expressive version of the scene where the imprisoned Mystique impersonates the President: "Mr President, shut the **** up!"

8) Extended Fight Sequence at Jean Grey's House:
A much more brutal version of the scene where Wolverine and Storm try to get into Jean's house. This includes more Wolverine and Juggernaut mano e mano, and a nice bit of business where Logan becomes a conduit to channel Storm's electrical energy into Juggernaut. Cut because it was "too long".

9) "Psychic Battle" Voices:
During the Phoenix/Professor house sequence, Xavier mentally pleads with Jean to stop, but she says that she is the Phoenix (I think there's an alternate head-on angle of Xavier's POV at Jean. I think it also has temp sound.)

10) Original Version: Jean Displays Her Power at the Encampment:
Jean takes a coffee cup and turns it into a miniature sun, blowing rays of heat at the Brotherhood camp. I liked this scene, as it showed she has greater control of her powers.

11) Alternate Version: Bobby and Kitty Skate
A "controversial" version of the skating scene, only this time they kiss, adding more of an incentive for Rogue's actions later in the film.

12) Hank Warns Trask of Magneto's Plan
As the military prepare to enter Magneto's forest hideout, Hank calls to warn them that Magneto may be preparing an attack elsewhere.

13) Original Version: X-Men Board The Jet
A different version of the rallying scene between Wolverine and Iceman, shifting the emphasis to Iceman. Some of this version appeared in one of the trailers.

14) Jean Senses a Scared Little Girl
An extension to the scene where a family, trapped in their car on the bridge, encounter Magneto. It also helped take the scene from daylight to dusk - it was cinematographer Dante Spinotti's favourite scene of the film.

15) Wave!
An addition to the attack on Alcatraz - Storm creates a deluge, to fend off a wave of attacking Brotherhood members.

16) Bobby vs. Phat:
Remember the fat mutant at the church meeting, who shrank down in size so he could sit down? Well, here he returns, during the Alcatraz attack, where he is brought down by Iceman and Colossus. This scene was cut because it wasn't well-executed. (Really? Lame excuse.)

17) Beast Breaks a Neck
Cut to ensure a PG-13 rating.

18) Magneto Asks Jean To Help In The Battle
A nice addition to the Alcatraz attack: Magneto sees that some of his pawns are being cut down by cure weapons, and demands that Jean step in to help. "You sound like him again", she observes, referring to Xavier.

19) Alternate Version: Here's Juggy
A version of the scene where Juggernaut enters Leech's cell, with dialogue paying tribute to The Shining.

20) Magneto Tortures Logan
Slightly extended version of the "You never learn" torture scene.

21) Extended Dark Phoenix Destruction: Consists mostly of an extended tracking shot of the facility and soldiers getting blown up. Why didn't they use this in the final film?

22) Alternate Ending: Rogue Returns
A gloved version of the scene where Bobby greets Rogue on her return to the school...

23) Alternate Ending: New School Year Begins
Shows Hank returning to teach at Xavier's school, instead of taking on the Ambassador's job.

24) Wolverine going back to Canada for some reason Logan Returns to Canada

There's still a bunch of stuff that hasn't (or won't) be released. There's an article that mentions the actress who played Psylocke (and the work she did in the film) here, and there's still all the stuff from the original post that never got in.

And wait until you get a load of what the reasons for cutting the scenes were. Try reading this page and this as well.

The ship isn't dynamic enough, there are no NextGen-style warp stars, they didn't "fix" the "error" with the phasers, not enough new shots of the model, blah blah blah. Why don't we give them our rontos and our giggling droids and our honking dewbacks and Vader's shuttle and Hayden so we can have Star Wars and they can have the CGI-fest they seem to want?

Hopefully, this is just a vocal minority of fans. But maybe it's not. Maybe only those of us who have seen the face of Hayden know the danger of CGI editing. The path to the Dark Side.

I understand what you mean. I saw Balance Of Terror, and to me, none of the new visual effects really stood out. Heck, I didn't even realize they changed the theme song until I read about it on the official website. Personally, I think it's just change for the sake of change. The original was fine the way it was.

And New Voyages is terrible. I may like Star Trek, but it doesn't blind me to the point where I can accept something as silly as that.

Well, as far as I remember, it was never mentioned again after that game. Wikipedia gives a reference to Darth Maul using a "Stygian cloaking device" on his Sith Infiltrator, but apparently that went over my head, because I doubt 90% of the population would even make the connection between those two things.

Keep in mind that this game was also released during the Playstation's heyday. The version I saw on that video featured gameplay from the PSX version. The PC version looks slightly crappier, at least to my eyes anyway. I quite liked Jedi Knight, though. At least when the actors did their thing, it looked like they were actually putting in effort, other than just standing around in front of a green screen looking bored.

I have that game, and it's horrible. It's like some sort of lame Flash shooter that you might find on AddictingGames.com, but with slightly better graphics. There's no challenge (simply aim and shoot), a weak storyline (come on, TIE Ghost fighters that are built on one ship, are all blown up at the end, and are never mentioned again in the expanded universe?), and horrible levels (yes, let's send waves of TIE fighters at your B-wing that take ten seconds to reach you, multiple corridor levels and a speeder bike level where you can't even tell where the heck you're going), not to mention it has one of the gayest ways to beat a final level in recent memory (a Star Destroyer version of the final level in Super Mario Bros., complete with repeating sections, then once you've done all that, you have to fly along a tunnel, you can barely move, numerous guns are shooting at you, then you have to destory a little panel and direct your mouse to a certain area, or you will get blown up and have to repeat the level again).

No thanks.

Are you talking about the scene where Luke meets his three friends (Biggs, Cami and other person) at that place (Anchorhead or Tosche Station? I can't remember.) that was a rough deleted scene on the Star Wars: Behind The Magic CD-ROM? Or is this something else? (EDIT: I misread your question. No, I have never seen those scenes ever in the film.)

On an unrelated note, I will swear on my life that the first time I watched Alien 3, on a broadcast airing on CTV Television here in Canada in 1997, there is a short shot near the end of the film where one of the researchers goes up to Ripley after she's killed the alien and is talking to Bishop, and does some sort of test or something on her arm. Ripley looks at him for a moment and looks back up, mildly angry. I have never seen it in any subsequent versions, and that was the only time it was aired on that station. I am sure it exists.

I would have liked to see Sam & Max 2. The original was awesome. Day Of The Tentacle was also really good as well.

I'm unaware that there's even an argument here. You've got sand in your pussy cuz I'm coming down on the guy for trying to bullshit us. And what exactly did I threaten you with? YOU need to get over YOURself. You ain't THAT important to me. I know it breaks your heart, but it's true. And I'll insult you all I want. Moron.

I'm not questioning you because of whether the guy's a troll or not. I'm questioning you because of your silly gauge of how to determine whether this guy is telling the truth or not. Stop twisting my words around.

Oh my God.....feelings hurt? Piss off.

It certainly seems like you're the one who's pissed off, considering that you are replying to EVERY. SINGLE. POST. in this thread in order to somehow maintain your dominance over the current subject at hand, which isn't even related to what the original post was. When I joined this community, I thought everyone was going to be nice, but judging from your behaviour, that's certainly not the case. Your use of insults to try and reinforce what non-existant argument you have shows volumes about your mentality, and even when I told you to stop, you still continue. That is BAITING. Troll-like behaviour. If I wanted to see that, I'd go to TheForce.net. Stop the insults and get something better to say next time, because you're blowing smoke at this point.

Keep thinking you're in a pissing contest with a 12 year old and you WILL get pissed on.

Moron.

I meant to mention a man that was referenced in Hunt's column about the anamorphic issue with the DVD's, but I forgot his name.

You just proved my point about being in a contest. If there was a report function, you would be the first person I report, because you are obviously letting this go to your head. Your demeanor is reminiscent of a child, and yet you still continue to post baseless insults and go after me. Don't threaten me or insult me ever again. Your argument is silly and stupid. Let it go.

And no, I will not "piss off" just because your feelings were hurt. It's the internet. Get over it.
