The first step of a preservation is to determine what the original contained. Before we can discuss any specific preservation, we have to have the discussion about what, if anything is different.
The alleged change in question is a “bleep bloop”, which I believe is the correct scientific nomenclature.
One would have to obtain the theatrical audio mix for this to happen and I don’t think the higher ups here are keen on “acquiring” TFA materials while it’s still screening in theaters (i.e. making money).

Once he finalizes the 3.0 masters for all three movies, he could probably crank out Respecialized versions over the course of a weekend. I remember him saying the SW Respecialized only took one day.

In VLC, you can crop the 16:9 video into a 2.35:1 ratio, thereby removing the black bars.
You can crop it to another aspect ratio in VLC I believe.

The scans that Darth Lucas corrected all had varying degrees of white balancing issues.

Oh there’s definitely demand from this guy. Although I have come to love the OUT since joining this site coming on two years ago, I grew up with the 2000 VHS set in my household so I still value having an HD version of the 1997 version on my computer. I may not love the reversioned 1997 SE anymore thankfully, but I love what Respecialized did for it and I also love Adywan’s ESB 1997 version too. It’s in the same spirit as Despecialized and all the other projects here, although not done with the same love perhaps 😃
