From what I saw of the deleted scenes though, they looked like uncleaned and unusable. Mind you I haven't look at all of them. There's enough stuff in the 14 disc set to keep you entertained for hours.

I think to make Superman II work well would be to have the Donner and Lester cuts edited together. A lot of the angles and fight scenes in Donner's cut are great, but Donners ending was a let down. I think Lester's ending made more sense and though I'm not American, I enjoyed the patriotic ending.

Yeah I know what you mean. Everything Lucasfilm release should have disclaimer that reads "thank you for your purchase, but be advised that what you are about to watch does not often meet the creative standards of the company ceo and revisions may occur."

I called for my replacement discs at Warner today and those from Canada wondering if they're honouring the replacements north of the border nead not worry. Let's just hope the replacements dont get lost in the mail.

I bought the ultimate set today and will have to call the number as Superman III isn't the deluxe edition. However, the english 2.0 track is there on disc one of Superman the movie. Did I misread or was the error that it wasn't present at all on the disc or that it was the wrong track? I'm sure Warner will replace them both when I call again (tried today, they're way too busy).

A couple of questions of you don't mind:

If you have two anamorphic films (1.85:1 & 2.40:1) can those be edited together to the same aspect ratio with some conversion method?

Secondly, have any of you heard of/used this open source editing program?

Thanks BBR, I'm always open to suggestions. Okay, so 3 disc and 3 single disc cases. Should I use different art for all three cases or use the main poster art with the episode numbers added with different art utilised on the back. I figure I've got some time to work on these as I'd like them to look good and capture the feel of Kaydon's work. Oh... and we're going to need labels too.

Thanks for the help Twister, I found some resources I'm sure to use. Now, I've decided to make this a 3 disc case to house the inevitable parts 2 & 3. I'm just curious as to what to add to the back. Kaydon, I don't suppose you have a synopsis for the whole trilogy kicking about? Here's a preview.

That's a plausible theory if I ever read one. Home video market-wise I've only given my money to Lucas three (minus 1) times. VHS, 2004 DVD's (watched someone else's copy - returned them), 2006 DVD's. I haven't bought any prequel stuff as I know I'll get them in the 2007 box (not that it matters, but it's a bonus to campare to fan editions).

So far I found the orginal poster art but it had all the orginal pc box, rating and original lucas arts logos on it. I've been spending some time cloning out everything, added the new lucas arts logo and have to fix the yellow saber as it was too short. Does it look blended in or no?

UPDATE!

Fixed what was needed (thanks Twister) and just have to consider what to do with the back. Shoul the front slogan stay? Not sure about that one.

Well, d/led, seeded (for awhile - I have limited bandwidth with my provider) and finished watching it. Really enjoyable. His voice work is great and adds some subtle humor here and there. Rebel_1138's review is spot on, so I'd read that. As to a cover for this, I'll see if there's any material about to use.

You know Mark, you're right. I paid high end Block Buster prices at the time of purchase but I was a kid again when I popped in those baby's and I haven't complained since (or did I? my minds in the wash). Now that they're going down in price just means I'll have to pay less for my brother to experience the same feelings for Christmas.
