Here's my stance
Time
I just wanted to apologise for the trolling post. It was immature of me, but was also the first one I have done. I love the OT and was quick to sign the petition when it was still up. In all honesty, I wanted to time to see how quickly Gomer would answer. I'm confident we'll get an OT release to our liking someday, I'm just fearing this board it turning more towards fanatic than fan.

Here's my stance
Time
I think the whole mentality with the OT and those that grew up with it is that they're etched fond memories of our childhoods. As kids we never looked at them as products, we saw them as other realities and for some people those feelings are still there. Come the PT and we realise as we are older that Star Wars is a product, is marketed as a product and always has been. The reason fans that grew up with it are angry is because it's like having someone burn all your family photos in front of your eyes and you're powerless to stop it. Here's some food for thought: you can't control what you didn't create and even if you did, look how God's creation turned out.

The truth is ENTERTAINMENT IS A PRODUCT, the only time it wasn't was when humans were of the old days telling stories by the fire. We had nothing to benefit but the awe of the croud. This is our world now, it's about money and control. We're all an empire of one because we've been bred into a selfish world that tells us to toil for money to buy goods and services and if we don't get exactly what we want than cry havoc (you know the rest). You can complain for all eternity about getting your way with Star Wars because you see yourselves as "inverstors" in a product you have no control over. Why not instead try to create a similar product to etch in other kids memories and see where that takes you. See if you'll end up like Lucas or not with the decisions you make with your product.

Star Wars Logo Designer
Time
Ah yes, I recall this being posted before, yet still a good read. As to your Disney logo treatments, you can try www.brandsoftheworld.com and scroll down to the search box and look up some stuff. I know there's quite a few .eps files there. I think I saw a few Disney logo's (non .eps) on www.euphoricfx.org (you'll have to sign up - but it's free for the time being) under gallery and resources. Happy hunting!

Star Wars DVD Covers
Time
Talk about judging a DVD by it's cover. If you saw that at the video store, you might actually rent it think you're getting something cool. It's the dark side bait and shit! Hmmm... THAT would go nicely on a T-Shirt... I'll be right back...

[edit]

So... who want's one?

As to content there BBR, you'll have to ask Falle as he's in control of the web site, I just email him content.

Idea: an X 3 edit...
Time
I'd seriously hold out until next year when the 2-Disc edition comes out. I read that in a Ratner interview after I bought the damn thing and it royally pissed me off. I tried returning it at Blockbuster but of course it was opened so in the end I just traded it. That's the most expensive movie rental I ever paid for. I went to Fox's website to see if I could contact them an lodge a complaint, but they have no links. No surprise there.

Lucasfilm Exiting Movie Business?
Time
You know, I tend to see his point of view to some degree. Hollywood get's lucky with one investment and they take it to the limit. Now, with TV, you've got some revenue coming in from broadcast advertising and then sales from DVD or pay-per-view as they want to do. Some may argue that he's a bad film maker (hence the irony of him putting money into film school) but I find him a respectable businessman. If you can take one idea and make an entertainment empire like Lucas or even WWE chairman Vince McMahen (sp) then why not?

Creating covers for thinpaks... How?
Time
Dude, it doesn't cost that much to buy credits at a pay site really. $30 @ Replace the Case will give you unlimited downloads for a whole year. You can download high quality customs and convert them to thinpak or ask the artist if they might do it for you. Some are pretty friendly and accomidating. For a limited time @ R1DB $28 will get you 400 credits. There's a heck of a lot of thinpaks and scans there to keep you occupied. Just think of it as a conversion expence.

I'm not sure which DVD's you own as UK got a 2-dsic version with 21 deleted scenes (I know they cut out Psyloche completely in the theatrical version but surely they added some deleted footage) while I think the US and Canada 1 disc edition only has 13 deleted scenes. I didn't buy a copy today as I know they're going to double dip us again so maybe we can get a good edit in X3.5 or whatever. However, I'm confident Spence is capable. I hear ADM on the other site is thinking of doing one too.
