Dub one background stormtrooper with George Lucas’ voice, to bring the movies in line with action figure lore.

Honestly not a horrible change.

If I was going to do a lighthearted edit as a companion piece instead of a possible replacement - you know, like some kind of special edition of the movie - then yeah, maybe I would actually edit it in, if I could find the right audio and the right place for it not to be super intrusive.

It would require a lot of VFX work - I remember someone doing a really cool VFX test to turn Rey’s outfit black, which was a 1000% improvement, but the AI software couldn’t detect the edges perfectly. Changing a person’s skin to blue would be even more difficult for an AI, and I think you’d have to manually rotoscope it in most shots. That’s a staggering amount of work; just look at the “crackling saber” VFX from the Ascendant edit thread.

It’s possible, but it would take a huge amount of work, besides which - do you really want Pryde’s character in the movie to be Thrawn? He doesn’t really gel with Thrawn in the rest of SW media personality wise.

I think this was mentioned, but using alolan Vulpix and/or Ninetails to replace the crystal fox things would be good. Oh, and there needs to be one that “transforms” into a Zoroark when it trips.

I’ll add some Cryogonal as well, for the line “Where’d the crystal critters go?”

Unless that line could somehow be made to reference Crystal Version.

People seem to agree that only the first Sors line should be in the final edit; yeah?

Is there any way you can send me the scene including the extended bit where Sors’s second line would have been? I’d like to try implementing another Jedi such as Plo Koon in there.

Sure, I’ll render out the current Two Sors Lines Version without either of Sors’ lines in there, so people have got flexibility with adding whatever they like in their own edits. I’ll do it when I also do the Single Sors Line Version, so hopefully sometime next week.

Those may very well have been the filmmakers’ reasons for not including a ghost of Ben.

However, showing his ghost is the natural capstone on his redemption story. Without it, it leaves the audience to say, “Oh, well. I guess he’s in Jedi hell.”

Also, I feel like the script already seems to address this (as though they originally meant to have his ghost at the end) by having Palpatine refer to Ben as “the last Skywalker,” as KumoNin points out.

I’m losing it.

Here’s a little demo of the civilian fleet, with the original audio subdued to let the comms be much more audible than they’ll be in the final product.

(There’s a shot missing visually, but don’t mind that.)

Also, wow, actual chills on this one. Just like jonh’s Force Ghosts, it took a scene that made me feel nothing in the theatrical release, and made me feel emotions.

In the opera scene, when Anakin says “The Jedi think selflessly, only of others,” add a phoneme so Palpatine replies “And the Jedi donut.” Rotoscope a large donut into the centre of the Jedi Council scenes earlier, so that it sounds like Palpatine is reminding Anakin of an important piece of Jedi doctrine.

The Jar Jar version should probably remain a fun standalone extra, but I’d love to see surface footage of Alderaan added to the movie itself. I don’t know if it’s still online anywhere, but years ago Timstuff (I think it was him?) had a great mockup that would be amazing to see fully realized.

EDIT: Yep, here it is!

I wonder where the additional footage is from, that’s not poached from ESB?

I just checked the flythroughs video, no dice.

I think the dice hanging shot is salvageable though, if I can find a good image of the Falcon cockpit exterior with which to replace the crew and camera. This is the closest I’ve been able to find, though it’s not perfect and is still rather distant for these purposes. It matches the blue lighting of the interior though, so that’s a bonus.

If there’s still need of a closeup to show that these are in fact dice, it would be a good thing for MR to film and could probably just use the shot from TLJ with Luke’s hand replaced with another.

Would it be possible to render the shot you need of the Falcon ourselves, or outsource it to someone who can? There’s plenty of super high resolution Millennium Falcon 3D models online, might that be easier than combing through official footage?
