thinking of the many versions of movies that are released nowadays it makes me wonder ... why couldn't there be a "theatre cut" of Star Wars ?

WB, Sony and co throw thousands of copies out, so it must be a big market for every movie edition - it was just Lucas who didn't care anymore

I got some ideas that could improve your edit:

- change the Coruscant scene to night, because we had dawn in the prequels, and the Empire has now full control over the planet, making it a dark place

- as for "Tydirium", I have watched that project since it was anounced, I fear it is on total hold, last news was that they could/would not publish it (hopefully oneday it will be released)

there are some very promising fan films coming out this year, so maybe there will be material to pull from ...

I'm on your side with this idea, because without her Star Wars would have been a disaster or just another cheesy sfi-fi flick and not the mega-hype that changed the world ;-)

back then I thougth R2 and 3PO had a very long partnership going way beyond Episode 1 ... cause those droids could be "ancient" ;-)

well, yeah sure ... it is just unbelievable to have teddy bears kill full armored troops with sticks and stones ;-)

hm, maybe if the Ewoks had the Gorax as "pets", THAT would make things different, think something like the Rancor ...

well if Jabbas Palace gets a rework, the Endor battle really needs one too

ok, I like the Ewoks, but find it rather unconvincing to have them be the "guerilla troops" originally the Wookiees meant to be ...

I'm fine with them as some sort of distraction and helpers/guides for the Rebels, but them to be "superior" over the elite troops ?!

and how or when did they built that very heavy "AT-ST Crusher" - such a thing wouldn't be unnoticed by scouts patrolind the woods ;-)

as for the outnumbered/gunned rebels:

maybe mor action from the cannons/batteries would improve the impression, that they not just throw rocks at mountains ... ?

wasn't there a shot from a cannon that should destroy an AT-ST ?

we see that even this "better" ground gun hasn't any effect on the AT-ATs ...

As much I would like to see Imperial Troops rush into Echo Base - wouldn't it be nice to have some Speeder Bikes (in Hoth coloring!) chase along the Walkers ?

that would really add to the smaller battles and be even faster than the AT-ST or AT-AT assault ;-)

yeah they showed it at the Europe Celebration - before that the plan was to bring out ALL 6 movies in 3D, one every year, but that didn't work out as we saw ...

even the thought of cramming 2 or more in one year was dropped, and then Lucasfilm went over to Disney and now "3D" is on complete hold - not just the release of Episode1 3D on bluray

maybe if Disney would focus on their older productions (eg: TRON), that they would start marketing the other stuff in 3D ...

THAT is how the PT should look and not the strange plastic optic we got ;-)

with THIS material to work from, a better version/edit of the PTs could really be made!

yeah, I suggested something like "Jekyll / Hyde", with the touch of supense and mystery, the story plus the "turn" would feel more natural - Anakins broken psyche and his lust for power should have been the vehicle to introduce the dark side of the force ...

hm, the duel could be us seeing it through Anakins eyes, by this time he is twisted, but not completly evil, Obi-Wan is the dark spectre we think killed the other Jedi, in reality it was Anakin all the time!

ah the "forge", yup that would be a great base - hm, I would add/change the concept more to like the classic Battlestar Galactica, where Baltar had 3 base ships, and the could hunt the good guys ... make more damage

the combination of the cloning facility and hidden base is a very nice touch and could solve many flaws the PTs have ;-)

I somewhat like the idea of a base ship the "bad guys" have, that they use to escape every episode - that would be very serial like, back to the roots of star wars ;-)

I rather have blue/green/red than only blue/red - and the other colors be a "suprise", like for Dooku or some "special" character ...

as I said, not fond of Yodas duels ;-)

going "radical": I agree, it would be better to cut Yoda all out and have him be the great and mysterious master!

yeah, big collections tend to get a little chaotic, and over the years you get more stuff, it duplicates - having files in all sorts of quality and format isn't helping to build a database ...

well the bad thing is "Yoda - the fighting frog", but maybe if he wasn't jumping all over the place, Yoda wielding a lightsaber could be watchable ?

like put him on his "floating chair" and then he could do battle Dooku or Sidious ...

I wasn't very fond of the duels, but this could smooth them a little ;-)

As for coloring, don't know if the whole "blue/green/red" or mutlicolored is better, depends an your story and taste ...
