you and others had some interesting ideas concerning redubbing some of the cast (as Anakin, Jar Jar, ...)

I kind of like that, but it needs to blend in with the rest, and must be well written dialog, ok not Shakespear, but on par with the OT stuff ;-)

Although Jar Jar could be "redeemed" he could also be the "wannabe samurai" from Kurosawa's "7 Samurai" - no need for him to be Jedi, but he could start off as pesant or farmer (hehe, it's an agricultural galaxy) and hang around long enough to show his worth, maybe ending up as high ranking officer (whereas his story-arch could even be humorus or tragic, like my interpretation of "first kill" of Endor battle ...)

I got a little collection of Star Wars games myself and tried so get hold on some cool soundbits in the past - not every program had a nice clean directory with the desired files ...

If one needs just one clip, I used to record it by hand, but if more is interesting, then you should seek for "decompilers", or better search the modding forums, they are some great resources for soundfiles ;-)

maybe I will rip some files in the future, but in the meantime got to much other stuff to handle, therefore only idea tossing for new cuts/edits ...

dropbox seems nice enough, no taking down because of legal issues could arise or whatsoever

Woha, that would be a great character developement point!

After watching the prequels and the clone wars series, I wished Jar Jar was either only a minor character or just a goofball for tv ...

But think of the possibilities:

Take or leave the Naboo/Alderaan ideas, combine it with a struggling senator Organa, who is set in position by his people to defend from growing threats (aka "Federation"), to vote or pose Palpatine as the "grand chancellor" and support a "army of the republic" - only to realise, that he made a deal with the devil himself (though not knowing that he is even sinister as that => Sith!) - forming in secret the oppositon, later known as the "rebel alliance" ... end cue: destruction of Alderaan - greek tradegy at full throttle ;-)

I was very pleased with the many new cuts, but thought that the training-clips would have worked much better as bridges throughout the first half of the movie - to further the character introductions and possible motivations they have.

Starting off with Weylands monologue is a brilliant way to show how the corpoation and mankind is pushing into the stars ...

There are two scenes I would reduce to maximize the "unseen" horror - for one the "pod scene", to show how she is cut open, is just gross (and strange - shouldn't there be much more blood?) - and the "hugging" of the engineer: faster, shorter cuts, and leave an open end to his fate ;-)

What I found interesting, is that in light of the "letter" Weyland wrote about "replicants", that with some cuts, Vickers could be just one of them, even one that can have intercourse with humans - and it would explain the "father/daughter"/ "sister/brother" relations that are hinted in the movie.

Technically, there were some glitches in picture, sound was ok, as far as I noticed - maybe when some cuts are "refined", the HD version could benefit from it :-)

I always had my thoughts about how to make Matrix a consistent story - leave out Part 2 and fill in the gaps or forget about Part 3 and make an new ending.
