Ah well that is one heck of a coincidence then. To me, an error on the part of your seller (who must sell other falcon kits) was far more feasible than 2 different falcons from 2 different retailers both going missing at the same time! Crazy.

My opinion: I think it was zigfried :P

Just to be clear Ady, looking at the invoice, it wasn't the same seller that you purchased from, was it? If it was, it would be pretty obvious what had happened - your seller has sent your package to the other guy, and the other guy's package (addressed to you by accident) went "missing" and had the address torn off it.

In the case that it IS the same seller, his proof of posting he provided to paypal should be proof enough that he sent the wrong item - it will have a completely incorrect weight/shipping cost.

Not sure if you can file an 'item not as described' claim after having already made an 'item not received claim' though.

Sorry for all these edits to my post. It probably isn't the same seller anyway, making my whole post pointless :P

If it is the same seller though, there's two magic words I have for you.

TRADING STANDARDS!

The chances of there happening to be another falcon kit that had just happened to get the address torn off is also pretty astronomical!

Having said that, unless it was shipped from the same seller (which I'm sure Ady will have made sure is not the case), it's near impossible this guy would have got Ady's Falcon. Unless Ady's falcon's address was torn off too (would be a huge coincidence), and the other guy made a simultaneous claim for his missing falcon, and ended up being handed Ady's £200 model instead of his own by inept Royal Mail staff.

I'll have to read back on what shots it's being used for, but this sounds to me like it's a very meticulous job. I haven't a single doubt that this edit is going to be spectacular! :)

Also, I second the above. A worklog of sorts would be amazing!

I for one cannot wait for the new Star Wars The Old Republic game. Hopefully the Star Wars MMO will be done well this time. I just wish something new would happen in Star Wars without everyone using it as an excuse to retread their dislike of Lucas and Star Wars. Cant you just enjoy that awesome trailer and leave it at that? Becuase I for one would just love to say GODDAMNEDTHATWASFUCKINGAWESOME!!!!!!!!!

As for the advancment of tech in Star Wars, yeah Ive always thought that it proceeded very slowly, but it's just something Ive come to accept about Star Wars.

This is Bioware's first venture into the MMO market, which leaves me a little bit worried that TOR won't live up to expectations, but not very.

RPGs are their specialty, and the fact that this one is online hopefully won't make any difference. In fact, it could work to their advantage. They are the gods of story driven RPGs, and that's the one thing most MMOs lack.

The release of any Bioware Star Wars game is always going to be followed by criticism of Lucas, because let's face it, Bioware know how to write Star Wars better than he does!

If the trailer is anything to go by, this will be EPIC!

All it needs IMO, to be truly great is a thriving in game economy, and player owned spaceships (possibly with space battles) a la EVE online, but that might be asking a little too much.

This is still just a test shot to show that it's possible to use CG for this shot, I'd assume if Ady wants to progress down this route then he's supply or have more specific ideas about the bckground mountain range etc...

I commend you for being willing to put in the work to adapt/redo the footage. With the help of people like you, this is going to turn out extra special! :D

I suppose that the Star Wars Galaxy would hit a technological plateau where there wouldn't be that much of a change for thousands of years.

Technology has been rapidly advancing for us since the Industrial Revolution but before that it stayed pretty much the same for a very long time.

If we reached a point where all things that were practicle for us to use were discovered (or discovered to be impossible to build) we might settle back until our circumstances changed when we found new problems to solve.

That's how I always explained it. Technology can only get so advanced before it's unimprovable. Like a technological singularity.

is there anyone who can make me a copy of Ady's New Hope Revisited (PAL) ?  Mine got scratched in the post ; it chips heavily during the whole disc ; I would appreciate this very much ; some guys have promised me to send me a copy over, but I've been waiting for several weeks now and received no answer ; make someone happy in Belgium ; I'll make several copies of the received dvd disc and spread them around here ; PM me

Actually, I've only been able to find a PAL copy of the DVD5, myself. My DVD9 is NTSC, so if anyone can help me out too with a PAL DVD9, I'll gladly cover postage and the cost of the disk (and of course will distribute it as I've already been doing)

EDIT: Jonno is helping me out. Thanks a lot! :)

Man...building sets, pro cg artists on board. This is shaping up to be a huge project! Something Lucas and ILM with their millions of dollars and limitless resources will never be able to match, because Adywan and the people contributing on these boards have one thing they don't - passion.

So... we'd watch 6 hours of young Obi's adventures with some guy who ultimately doesn't matter, never meet anyone named Skywalker, and then when he talks to Luke in "Star Wars" he'll refer to his good buddy Skywalker that we've never heard of.  Then in "Empire" we learn Vader is Luke's father.

I'd rather a character who "doesn't matter", and becomes a sort of a red herring (we think he becomes vader) than a whiny Anakin Skywalker. At least we'd be justified in hating Hayden Christensen this way, and it doesn't take a shit over our preconceptions of Anakin as a good man who falls to the dark side.

My first thought would be 'WOW! Unnamed guy with the eye-scar was really Luke's father!"

Why would you think that? Besides, if someone found a way of giving him a name, this wouldn't be a problem.

EDIT: Also, and this is, afterall still a radical idea, Adywan, or whoever might do such a drastic edit, could insert some holo transmissions somewhere with his face lifted from Sebastian Shaw's other work, and redubbed. He could even replace some Jedi on the council who contacts via hologram at points in the film. There are also plenty of examples of different characters saying "skywalker" so that it's clear who is in the transmission.
