The "ADigitalMan Special Editions" DVD Info and Feedback Thread (Released)
Time
I unfortunately cannot download or copy DVD's, but I would love to get ahold of SL copies of ADM's work on ROTS. This prequel is the only one I bothered to see in theaters *and* on DVD. The fact that the work is done has made the xmas season more joyous. I can B&P or whatever-- or just weep without them (sob, sob). If anyone can help a bro out, PM-- much thanks.

We will include several excerpts from other movies, but hopefully you won't realize that a bit.

Sounds like an improvement to me. Robbins was good in the role, but it was a stupid role that made a somewhat stupid movie even stupider. And I'm supposed to believe that 4 foot midget Tom Cruise took out Tim Robbins so easily? Please.

If anyone can help out a non-downloader with the Hannibal and Kirkless discs, it would be appreciated.

Who's gonna read "Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader?"

Imagine if tomorrow the Walt Disney Company made an official statement that Mickey Mouse is, in fact, a rat and not a mouse at all. His new name is Mickey Rat. They then go back and digitally alter Mickey's appearence in every cartoon and movie to look more ratlike (longer snout, brown fur, etc). Future generations will embrace Mickey Rat, but how the hell are you and I ever going to forget the mouse?

Nice analogy!

There would probably be t-shirts reading, "Don't Forget the Mouse!"

Was the Frankenstein Walk Shortened in ROTS DVD?
Time
I've had the bootleg since rots was released in may and have the dvd now, and can say it's pretty much exactly the same!

Do you mean IS exactly the same, or pretty much the same- meaning NOT exactly the same. Can't be "pretty much exactly." That's like saying there are "around one" M&M's left in the candybowl.

I assume it's the same, I'm just playing the semantics game.

Original Making of documentary, released on LD in Japan, but here in PAL.

Is this the same Making Of that was released on VHS in the US, in a set with Die Hard 1 and 2? If so, it was a great special-- and contains some deleted footage not on the Vengeance DVD. Pretty strange that this Making of wasn't on the DVD.

Info for... the Ewok films: 'Battle For Endor' and 'Caravan Of Courage'...

Why the alterations between the different versions? Seems rather minor and pointless. I mean, I'm not surprised of course. Just curious.

Nope. I see lots of differing opinions here about various versions of SW, both OT and PT, and what people like/dislike about changes, etc. It's what makes it an interesting and fun place.

So, will I be allowed to give my full opinion on Lucas, the prequels, the SE, and the O-OT, without anyone getting upset or angry? I would like to just to get it off of my chest, by my opinion seems extremely unfavorable.

I think people already know what you think. You say the same thing every time without much discussion or elaboration-- "I don't care about the OOT, I love all the changes, the EU is canon even though it's not, blah blah blah", bating people and being a smartarse. And you know exactly why anyone has a problem with you, and why you were banned. Don't worry, it's not your opinion that's unfavorable. It's just you.

You can read more about it on my Wikipedia reviews.

One big difference is that while a video game can be considered entertainment, or even art, it's art that you control. There are multiple different scenarios even within an original version of a game.

You can't control a film. It's on video or DVD however its presented and that's it. [not getting into fan editing and that phenomenon] An original game might be rereleased, or changed, or updated, which could be either cool or annoying, depending on how much you like the original, or if you have nostalgia for it, or whatever. But there still are differences within said original. It doesn't play out the same way every time, like a movie does, so altering a film is kind of a different thing.

Not only is Ian's performance kind of blah and phoned-in, but so is the look of the shot. It's way too brightly lit, and the whole job looks as if it was done in 5 minutes on someone's lunch break. They could've at least matched the look of the previous hologram effect a bit better.

The original surpasses it in every way-- if I never knew what the image was, I would still think it looks pretty cool. I don't care if it was a woman/chimp-- it's a mysterious image attached to a mysterious voice that didn't need to be changed.

Help: looking for... The Missing 'Raiders of The Lost Ark' Scene...

Maybe it was in a TV version? Or a comic book, or script? Or, just a Cinematic Urban Legend (a phrase which I just coined)?

But the movie is not the dark, ESB-like middle chapter as Lucas purports. It's more of the Beverly Hills Cop 3 of the trilogy.

Ha! Yeah, BHC3 was quite a letdown. Best part: With the "Wonderworld" themepark music repeating in the background, Hector Elizondo yelling, "Turn that fucking song off!"
