id be really interested in seeing a rough cut.

i really enjoyed the clips you posted, and would happily see a "work in progress" version, just for the ideas and composition.

maybe after a rough cut, you could subdivide the film into small sections, ie, bar scene, speeder chase, dialogue scene, and maybe people could have a crack at taking one a nd implementing the ideas after spending more time on it, like some collaborative film.

have you ever considered making this in the format of a tv series? with a "previously on star wars" opening perhaps? the parallel storylines could create sufficient tense ending points.

theres a really good fan film that uses alot of hans zimmer music, cant remember the name though.

if only there was a clean audio track, i would love to see/hear a hans zimmer star wars enstead of john williams for a change. then maybe a danny elfman one after that.:P

well heres the language fix without colour correction (mstly)

ive smoothed all the images and treated them slightly to remove all the scanned crap off them.

about half way through the recolouring. do you want me to upload the corrected language without the colour change incase i got any of it wrong? ive flattened the images to jpgs and blurred out the scanning errors, ie made it less grainy, but the comic colours and bright blue space scenes are intact.:P

im still eagerly waiting for this edit, in which ever form it is released. like reborn, i was just as satisfied with the ideas than the actual product, i would like to see the alternative film footages being inserted that you have been doing!:)

looks and sounds great. i think it suits the comic well. the crawls for the other star wars films were alot shorter i think, so i was being restrcitive intially to keep with them. but i think the new one is better and we should run with it.

it would be nice to see the imperials landing, but its not really becasue ady is avoiding the EU, as much as it makes the ATAT entrance far more dramatic when its like "whats that"...thudd...thudd...

i downloaded the fonts, and i had to reinsert them into parts fo the photoshop files.

ive finished doing the language on HTTE (some was still in italian btw!) do you want me to send you them before i do the colour correction?

got a copy of photoshop now, i tested a few cracks on a pc at my library. one wasnt a virus luckily.;)

are you going to add a more interesting background for when boba is loading hab into slave I? its not like the camera is looking up at him, and it would look a bit less plain if there is some buildings behind him.

i really love the claustrophobic interiors of cloud city, almost like a polished white dungeon. but the exterior was always a bit empty feeling. it shouldnt become a mini coruscant, but perhaps just a bit more intimidating, like they are being watched by the looming architecture.

just another thought along the lines of my previous mutterings.

STAR WARS was originally a trilogy, so all references within the trilogy and themes were nicely tied up within the context of the 3 films

then (ignoring EU) the SAGA of SIX films recreated this context into the six films, references and themes then intermixing across the six films (not particularly well, but thats the idea)

what if we make all the comic material some contextualised super saga panning 1000s of years? by rescripting and reorienteering ideas it could be some greater story. Lucas tried tieing the phantom menace with ROTJ for example with the chosen one mumbo jumbo. if we were to pretend that the PT and OT arnt films, and choose to use the comics, we can create a series of omnibuses, where the skywalkers, leia, han etc are almost minor characters.

Darknikos has made some cool ideas just in the rewriting in the Thrawn Trilogy (im just correcting the english!:P) to make them run more coherently

I am recolouring when I can to make the imagery itself seem less like its been inked by people who eat neon for breakfast, and also to add some consitency. annoyingly though i need to go to university to use photoshop to do anything :P does anyone know of a free version? GIMP isnt too hot, and i had to wipe and restart my PC when a Photoshop crack had a trojan in it.:'(

if anyone wants to read up on the comic backgrounds just go on wookiepedia, or i can upload chunks to rapidshare, and some naughty individuals seem to have uploaded them as torrents too.

i must confess i also wasnt that bothered about the comics (excpet for tales of the jedi) for the same reason as many, but the idea of making them more consistent and more of a universal project could be fun!:) i never felt that the comics fit in with the films, so replace the films with the comic versions, and slide in the bits about lumiya maybe? expand upon dialogue perhaps? put in flashbacks? we could even do a comic version of STAR WARS reborn? and lets not forget we can always draw stuff in?

"The Great Hyperspace War" - (Golden Age of the Sith and Fall of the Sith Empire)

"Knights of the Old Republic" - (Ulic and the Beast Wars, Nomi Saga and Freedon Nadd Uprising)

"Dark Lords of the Sith" - (Dark Lords of the Sith and the Stith War)

I think ill have to edit bits to make them flow as, well, supercomics. heres some examples of the colouring:

one thing that has always bugged me about the EU, is how seperate it is to the films, almost like its a completely different franchise. It would be cool if there was someway of adapting the comic versions of the films, and maybe adding to them so its as to reduce the difference. you could almost have it as 40 episodes of star wars, with episode 1 being back with Naga Sadow, and the Phantom Menace not being until like episode 20? (numbers just pulled out of the air)

saw WALL E and it must be the best movie of the year...well then i saw DARK KNIGHT.......*gasp*
