about the episode II edits you are doing; are they going to be following similar ideas to the "Shroud of the Dark Side" edit, with the de-saturation etc? i thought the addition of the the blade runner clips and the use of a more urine-stained-yellow tinge to the bar gave it a nice edge.
cant wait to see the clips!
ALSO
are you changing the music to scenes from the OT, or just the PT?

i agree and disagree.
i like the input of the vision, so ep3 and 5 are linked in the same way, but maybe just sound in the background like when yoda senses anakin killing the tusken in ep 2?
maybe this is something that needs to be addressed in an eventual ep3 edit too (when we have long grey beards!)
i think if it were filmed as oppose to animated you would risk making it slightly generic, but i think with it being cartoon it makes it more accesible to the viewer as a flashback.
Originally posted by: Chrille You mention Vader being prepped by an advisor before his chat with the Emperor. That was Sate Pestage and it was a deleted scene from the movie. I would really like to se that but even if they filmed it, adywan would probably not have access to it. Its sealed away at Skywalker ranch or something like that.
almost like the vaults under the vatican with all the alleged extra scripture. i wonder if adywan has a torch, ninja rope and a catsuit?
i think someone should start a ROTJ thread, there are alot of idaes floating around, and it would be a shame if they were forgotten. has adywan replied to any of these yet? i bet he regrets encouraging us now!
- that scene sounds awesome! is anyone here an actor??

That actually makes alot of sense, ben_danger. I have a feeling though that the idea will be shot down....
yeah, i was waiting for some fan to choke me for disloyalty.:S im intrigued by the picture you have on all your posts.
it would be good if coruscant could be somehow worked into the OT a bit more. i was going to suggest that the blue planet used in the ANH hope was replaced with coruscant, but it wouldnt have been as visually dramatic. any ideas anyone? or am i getting carried away here?

no force ghosts of qui gon and mace they are nothing to luke - why would he see them
yeah you've got a point there adyfan. i just like the idea of there being a presence of their spirits to emphasise the triumph of the jedi. maybe they could appear in ghost form around the ewok camp after luke sees the first three ghosts, or just some reference. (im quite obsessive about the links)
either way i guess im digressing on the wrong thread!
- a new idea though:
i think it is in the "building an empire" documentary it mentions one of the emperor's aides prepping vader before he talks to the emperor (the emperor being in a bad mood) - obviously it is a bit unnecessary to literally do this, but could the aides appear behind the emperor (also as holograms) during his talk with vader? (maybe even mas ademma? flanking the emperor like they do in the senate)
would it be interesting to move this conversation to nearer the beginning of the film? it may help to explain exactly why vader is pursuing luke in the first place, and then why he so desperately wants to capture han and leia?
yeah, Chrille's got a point, emperor music in the emperor - vader conversation. considering you did it in ANH in the briefing room it would make sense.
would it be possible to see more of the rebel fleet escaping from hoth? we see a transport get by a star destroyer, but we have no hint of transporter-loads of rebels getting captured or blown up as they attempt to flee the planet. it would work well in parallel with the hoth battle below, just to add that "rebel's getting ass kicked" tension.
heya! (first post on a forum ever, so if i do it wrong sorry!)
first off i just want to say a HUGE thankyou for your work on ANY, i must have watched that cantina scene 5 times. i always felt the original cut, and even the SE was a bit dated in comparison to all the others, but youve rally made it more in sink with the rest.
my suggestion for your empire edition, is to put the music form ROTJ that is played when luke almost dispatches vader ("Final Duel" on the soundtrack) into the scene where luke and vader fight on the gantry (starting when vader jumps out at him in the corridor and ending when luke loses his hand)
i know you may feel the music is more thematic of the emperor, and may seem out of place, but it really seems to add a stronger "father vs son" emphasis to the battle, and ties the fight to ROTJ well. try it anyway.
i also second the idea of you doing the same to yoda that you did the cantina folk with the expressions.
and if you could make the rebel fleet at the end alot bigger, you would have more rebels to kill off in ROTJ.
also, just to get it out of my system, if/when you get round to doing ROTJ, would there be any way of putting Mas Amedda (that blue guy from the prequels) just skulking around with the emperors advisers. it would make a nice link with the old/new. theres a robot chicken sketch with him, an advisor and palpatine in the chancellors office and it looks so right seeing them all together!
another idea for ROTJ would be the force ghosts of qui-gon, mace windu etc at the end. (not strictly canon but would be another nice link)
also, how much are you working with the guys on "star wars reborn" if you are at all?
thanks again for granting me a revived love for star wars, i am yet to show all my friends.
