ive had a stab at a little video

based on the idea of having JABBA as a seperatist goon

features:

JABBA enstead of, whoever mr reverse talking mosquito king was

removal of music

insertion of crowd noise (need a better source than an american football game though!)

execution drums to act as music to build tension

a tiny bit of colour correction, in one of the shots.

i used JasonN's TOTR for the AOTC footage as it was the only avi version to hand, so thanks go to him for the better pacing of those scenes.

is there a set date for the trailer? or is it just may (excited!)

just been thinking more down the jabba path. someone a while ago suggested posibly amalgimating geonosis and tatooine in some context. if so, the execution of padme/anakin, could be presided over by JABBA himself. maybe swap that droopy mosquito king with jabba? the palace, and area around tatooine that is seen in ROTJ could be tweaked to include an arena perhaps, just as AOTC could also be modified.

imagine he is like an ex lord of many worlds, once great before the clone wars, now ruined to strike deals with scum and smugglers.

what if we had a cutaway AND a hologram.

the cutaway could show a little panel with text on which would be what their eyeline is focused on perhaps

wow, that is really really awesome! is there any way though that you could make one without the green text? i love the input of the gas mining station then cloud city. works fantastically!

i guess none of the PT elements are fixed really, so maybe not all the leaders would be executed. i was imagining that jabba would be an investor as oppose to a warlord. it would be good if he is in most of the scenes as a background character, and maybe even making the odd speech.

im not sure if the ANH footage would be worth the hassle, as its not that brilliant anyway. maybe a new CG jabba or a puppet would work?

i like the globe idea. if there was colour added, the light on their faces could change also as the flick through different systems.

whatever the design, it would be good to maybe see it implemented in both AOTC and ROTS, and maybe even TPM. the  PT kind of lacked consistent iconic ships, apart from the cool naboo chrome thing.

sounds silly, but id love it if the jedi, or someone, used the MF as a consistent ship somehow. it cold be cleaner and fancier, maybe with alternative plating, but it could give an alternative reaction in ANH when we think 'omg, that thing is still around!'

any thoughts to Jabba the Seperatist? it could make a nice PT-ROTJ link.

MAAAYBE, if my suggestion for Jabba the Hutt as a separatist leader was considered, there could be a few token battle droids in jabbas palace as security? could be just a nice visual link to the earlier episodes, almost a reminder that this is a culmination of the six film saga.

[assuming that the Hutt relationship to the galaxy is editted in TPM somehow (maybe theyre part of the federation, or better, the seperatists are in TPM)]

could the tail be solved by maybe just having the scene focus on something else? like just cut to one of the goons or chewbacca for a second. the scream could get cut out.

but i agree with CHAINSAWASH, it really isnt such a great scene, and isn't necessary.

WOW! i cant believe how well those lines meshed together!

maybe he could announce some of them before the execution too? or perhaps just before the droids show up? the 'new power is risng bit was great, but 'to war' was a bit rushed. anyhow, it was such a cool mix of the two films!

now im thinking of what other Christopher lee-isms would fit.....

despite all the good arguments made for having fett, i do feel it would be a distracting subplot, and kind of unnecessary, and could be viewed as a fan service (like fett in AOTC). i would only include him if you find that the restructured ROTJ creates a gap that he could fill. i wouldnt go making a gap to put him in.

using him for plot movement, or an alternative reveal to an item would be cool. just a fett episode squeezed into the running of the film would be a bit silly.

what if we are looking at this the wrong way? if we have padme survivng, but with the belief that anakin is dead, we could look at a reason why vader would not want to see her. perhaps he is too ashamed by his new appearance to see her, and decides to go on without her. something could go along these lines

EMPEROR   "the damage you have sustained is irepairable lord vader"

VADER      "padme must not see me this way"

EMPEROR   "trust the dark side my young apprentice, maybe together we can find a way to reverse your wounds"

VADER      "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!"

well maybe not that way, but i think you get what i mean.

i was thinking last night, about the ideas for the fett scenes. would it work better if,

• fett jumps out of hyperspace, meeting a gathering febel fleet (maybe a HUGE fleet seen orbiting a planet like some form of ring, more and more ships jumping out of hyperspace and joining the loop)
• he flies towards a main ship, or station
• delivering the plans to someone, maybe a general, or maybe just an underling
• departing fett flies off, and then he gets a transmission from a cloaked figure (vader, or perhaps a cowled sidious) so the treachery is revealed afterwards

the question would be who is betraying who, is vader betraying the empire? is fett betraying the rebels, or mabe the cowled emperor is working both sides again like in the PT, fett would have no idea that the cowled sidious is the emperor, but we may remember him from TPM.

really cool!

the only thing i'm skeptical about is it becoming distracting to the pace and plot of the film, BUT, hopefully the fim is going to be jumbled a bit anyway, so maybe if Fett is used as a way of moving the plot to certain locations, it could work perhaps?

what if the whole boba fett plotline was the opening 10 minutes of the film? it could be an alternative to vader going to the death star perhaps?

wow, that is brilliant! the original lucasfilm and fox logos are a really nice touch too! i look forward to seeing this project.
