one thing i liked about STARWARS that the ATST windows epitomized was how rustic and basic the technology is sometimes. if i works why not use it?

i would agree on having them meet on dagoba, far more simple, plus i can imagine a really nice matte of the blockade runner and naboo ship facing each other, its almost like a 'passing the torch shot'.
the tantive IV is far more interesting visally than the naboo craft in my eyes, so i would prefer to see it entering the clouds, but it may make more sense to be following the naboo craft and have the tantive IV there waiting.
something to add to the PT:R request list would be have the tantive IV changed to match the OT colours, but its not vital.

it would be interesting, at least from an editing point of view to see a list of landings from the PT and OT, and a list of not-landings too. im assuming that the OT may have lacked the landings as they would have been tricky to make with models. incidentally, we never see an x wing land i dont think.

i did a cut of the asteroid battle in AOTC, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VASUJhw-qOc&feature=channel_page, using a very quick cut from luke in an xwing from ANH of him presing a button to show obi wan pressing a button in his fighter.
it was more to experiment with the flow of the scene, because if it wasnt objectionable, then perhaps we could slip in filmed elements of our own, of hands doing stuff to illustrate things.
is there like a big list of changes for this project anywhere? and what kind of work needs doing to complete it? i read through the whole thread AGES ago (at least a year) and all of it sounds amazing.

how about loads of green filth aswell, like the troops in ROTS. maybe the back could have some form of animated pistons and machinery, although that borderlines on steampunk.
i have been wondering for a while, if little 'hand' shots would look out of place. like a gloved hand of maul pressing a button, or the emperor handing vader a new lightsaber in ROTS. it would be like those shots in captain scarlet and thunderbirds that were like human hands pressing buttons on control panels where the puppets could not.
they wouldnt be too hard to do assuming that the skin colour and costumed sleeve were correct. the wall and panel could be rendered digitally, or maybe the 70s black console and glass buttons could be constructed?
out of curiosity, what did people think of the little addition of luke pressing a button in his x-wing in the asteroid battle? apart from the obvious gloved hand and orange sleeve, did it look out of place? if not then perhaps additional filmed pieces of exposition could really add to these films.
that mockup is really nice vaderios, it really brings it to life a bit more.
the colour correction works well too, replacing that green hue with a yellowy one.
i never noticed the landing pad mania in the PT until you mentioned it. its not like we see luke land his xwing in ESB, it just gets mentioned. i wonder if these little tit bits are what could change the PT just that little bit extra? maybe a landing pad allowance could be established.
id like to see a TPM cut where the clone wars have already begun, and the events at naboo are just the current offensive. perhaps clones would not be used at this point, but even if they were it would be cool.
i agree that perhaps the PT just wasnt brave enough to trust the audience's powers of assumption as much. its too bad though that there wasnt the evil darth vader figure to clearly point out that 'THESE ARE THE BAD GUYS'.
is there a better quality version of any of that cut footage on hyperspace? especially interested in that shot with the dead jedi on the floor as stated earlier. just had a quick look myself, but the website seems to be rather slow and difficult to find stuff.

i love the way kia di mundi just presses the off button on the commandship to power down, as if the pilot would accidentally lean on it at any point when reaching for his coffee and cause a disaster!
maybe that why they lost.
it would have been interesting to see a cloneless ending, but i reckon the reason we dont see clones is because they are purely CG, and most clone shots seem to be purely CG anyway.
if there was enough footage and climax to cut ROTS into two movies, and have the clone entrance in the opening of that, it would be interesting to see.

i think the wavelengths are certainly not far off. i found your videos really inspiring, and just starting my own has got over the technophobia for sure! cross dialogue would be a great idea between the two characters. whilst making the jango/obiwan video this morning, i had a bit of an idea.
jangos lady friend attempts the assassination on padme, leading to the investigation.
throughout obi wans investigation which will be slightly more extensive than merely chatting to dex - (who will be removed) he is constantly stalked by a character (a silhouetted jango). maybe one scene could even be in a club, and he could nod at obi wan (ROTJ boba could be used perhaps? although the difference in colours and armour is quite obvious). the key idea though, is that obi wan is being out manovered by this elusive figure at every turn. maybe killing enators along the way.
eventually obi wan is lead to kamino by yodas suggestion
now either
a) kamino is surrounded by the asteroid field enstead of geonosis, a surprise attack from slave I leads to the battle in the asteroid field. oni wan meets jango for real there and pursues him.
b) kamino is as is in the original film, and the asteroid battle is at geonosis. now that obi wan has spoken to jango, SSWR idea could be put to much better use here. obi wan could hide in the field when they real a stalemate. perhaps he has run out of ammunition, and eventually pulls the spare parts trick? i just like the idea of obi wan in a difficult spot, then us cutting to a different story, leading to the assumption that he has been sat around for ages!
blue engines! definitly! no idea how to do that though. anyone know if there is a way of just doing colour replace on FCP?
youve probably figured it out, but i just flipped the xwing cockpit vertically and changed the text colour. the bottom of the cockpit in ANH had diagonal lines at the bottom, that when flipped kind of seem to look like the curves of Jedi Starfigther cockpit.
as far as seeing jangos face, im gona try and do some hybrid shots with the slave 1 cockpit in AOTC. i really wished jango was a bit more mysterious, and if he is wearing his helmet, it would dehumanize him alot which would be better i think.
im not anywhere near as good as you are angel at colours, and for the geonosis arena used all your mockups very closely, although i was limited to RGB, HSB, Contrast/Brightness changes pretty much. if you have any cool ideas that can be implemented by those means, i would happily implement them!:)

though one thought is to maybe have this scene as he is approaching kamino, as if they are protecting the secret from him.

felt that the anakin padme scene earlier was a bit short, so bolstered it up with their second conversation. the added scene doesnt seem so bad now that anakin is 'conan' wooden enstead of 'whiny' wooden.
added an obi wan bit too. the music from 'brother sister, father son' from rotj score (scene when luke turns himself over to vader)
just take some painkillers with the movie. the clone wars movie is like the TPM to the series, its a disappointing start, but it gets better each episode. im still plotting an alternative clone wars film made from multiple episodes, which could potentially replace ep II, with ep II being ep I. but thats alot of commitment.:p
meh, were both british. just seen it though, its really great! i could imagine the explosion being huge, but only if we had perhaps seen a montage of similar terrorist attacks. maybe padme's could included, but we assume that she is blown up in the ship.
the dooku hologram is pretty cool! in regards to alternative dialogue for the RoTS possible dooku/sidious opening, perhaps something from the clone wars could be used.
another thought too, in regards to dookus name, how many time is 'dooku' actually mentioned throughout he whole film? if its not many, then perhaps changing wouldnt be too hard?
maybe he could be bleeding? at least from his nose. may provide that extra touch of mortality.
