Bingowings said:Thanks for the photos, it's a little too small and detail free for close up work but maybe if scaled down to the far distance it might be usuable for mock ups at least.
The paintwork isn't a problem I can remove that with PS.
I haven't seen all of the Clone Wars episodes do they turn up there at all?
they do indeed, the only episode i can think of though is 'storm over ryloth' it gets blown up too. episode should be on youtube somewhere.
i love how it looks like a computer game

I like it! I d love to see it without the two musics at the same time.
As i said before, ROTJ march was a bit off.
is just me :)

stop enabling him! who knows what abomination he will produce next! fishmanlee, im still clinging to the illusion that you have infact created the scoreless saga, and are just toying with us. any progress on that yet?
*sigh*
utterly f*cking aweful.
i think it would be fitting when luke makes that final charge against vader to have much more chaos going on around the tower, maybe even burning capital ships smashing into its surface. this would somehow tie in with luke's current rage against him perhaps?
hehe. i know the wampas weren't the prettiest monsters, but thats just mean!:p
what scale is the wampa going to be?
you should name it too. snowball is my favourite.
is it possible to make a VOB file for a section of a dvd, so you can just replace a chunk of the movie as oppose to redoing the whole thing? if so, you could just release an alternative opening crawl VOB to replace the original ones, and maybe with JasonNs permission, just replace his crawl to fit with your trilogy?
i would also like to just swap the ANH:R vader/obi wan duel with the purist one.;)
adywan said:fishmanlee said:i agree the only reason it had music was for entertainment purposes
about the BOTH in ANH:R: i thought if it had music it should be TCOL (see here)
but why use that music? that is used for Luke vs vader so is totally unfitting to be used for the duel between vader & Obi-Wan. I used BOTH because it signifies the final duel between the two former friends. it wasn't added just to have music in the duel. using a piece of music that was written for the duel between Luke & vader would be like using yodas theme when jabba appears in ANH:SE. Its one of the things i hated about the hack up job that was given to the score in ROTS. No though went into it at all. why use that piece of music when Yoda confronts the Emperor. Themes are there for a reason and thats how JW originally wrote them. when i first saw ROTS and that music cue appeared i instantly thought of Luke vs vader at bespin. JW writes the music to enhance what you are seeing on the screen. certain cues are there to fit the action. when you add a piece of music that was written for a different scene over another one, without re-cuing/ remixing the score it almost never fits. Anyone that knows anything about musical scoring for films knows this. This is why the soundtrack for AOTC & ROTS was such an abomination. the editing destroyed what JW had originally written. If you notice in ANH:R the BOTH was re-edited so that it folllowed what you were seeing on the screen. A quieter section came in when it needed to and vice versa.
the addition of the ROTS score in ANH was great, and i especially liked the mix of emperor themes in the conference room. the only thing that didnt work for me so much about the obiwan vs vader music, was that it just sounded so different to the rest of the music in the film. it would be great if we could get hold of a re-recording of that track, by perhaps a smaller orchestra, without the vocals with older recording equipment. maybe an editted version could work? despite this though, the piece of music fits the other action in the scene remarkably well.
could there be an anti credits roll on ESB:R, like a list of shame where names are displayed in red?

I just wish something new would happen in Star Wars without everyone using it as an excuse to retread their dislike of Lucas and Star Wars. Cant you just enjoy that awesome trailer and leave it at that? Becuase I for one would just love to say GODDAMNEDTHATWASFUCKINGAWESOME!!!!!!!!!
As for the advancment of tech in Star Wars, yeah Ive always thought that it proceeded very slowly, but it's just something Ive come to accept about Star Wars.
I went full geek over the jedi knight games. If this game is at least similar in game play then I will kindly swallow it like jabba the hut on frog slugs. Jedi academy was only good on multiplayer. They made Luke seem a little odd in it. Kyle was badass in dark forces 2.
okay, now were getting a bit off topic, but if you like jedi knight, there are two mods you HAVE to check out. maybe we should make a game mods thread as it is like a fan-edit.
its like STAR WARS REVISITED for Jedi Knight, a full graphic makeover that makes the game much more playable
made by the same genius. sadly doesnt include boc and jerec levels, but is a multiplayer version of the game, great for LAN play
i suggest playing these two together, with a simple glowsaber mod such as GLOWSABER X
as far as technology goes, i always just assumed it was something that was just standard, like in LOTR, technology seems to reamin at a standard level. perhaps its worth thinking of the technology like professional tennis techniques. the players only gradually improve, but certain techniques seem to be very popular until someone figures a counter to them, only for later on the old technique comes back around.
i must admit though the Exar Kun, Sith Empire and other old republic comics set as far back as KOTOR, did give an ancient feeling to STAR WARS. the spaceships were like submarines, and the lightsabers had power cords and looked much more fragile. the problem though, is artistically you want it to look like star wars i guess, and this era will allow alot more creativity to BioWare. Apparantly its going to have similar chunky graphics and gameplay to WOW, which would be better than the Galaxies format IMHO.
plus if the game looked completely alien to the popular star wars films, i guess people wouldnt be able to make the link.;)
i like that the jedi have armour, theres something slightly archaic about that, though i wish the mandalore woman and the sith were a bit more iron like.

Credit to bioware :)

oooh, definitly some valuable stock footage there!
when i was younger, before 1998, i did always think that the jedi and sith were like two evenly powerful sides that just wiped each other out until there were only 2 of each other left.
i just keep watching the charge over and over again!
watch this. watch it NOW! admitidly just pretty colours and explosions, but highly entertaining none the less.
maybe we could make an alternative version of fanboys, like fan-edit-boys, about an international group of intellectuals who journey to clear out the ranch...
return of the padawan...
it would be interesting, in a sith vs jedi sense, that luke decides to not pass on his knowledge, and to bury his sabre at the end of ROTJ. the reasoning behind this, is that perhaps withouth the jedi, there is no force use, and no dark side, so no sith, so the same events need happen again. the force could be brought to balance by its annulment.
in a gary kurtz interview, he mentioned how the original plan for episode I was to have the creation of the jedi order. perhaps if in a very radical edit this were to happen, the act of buring the sabre would have more poignancy.
Bingowings said:brash_stryker said:Bingowings said:The clones don't attack and we haven't a clue what the Sith want revenge for, at least there is a phantomy menace in TPM.
Phantom Menace is the only title that makes any sense, but Revenge of the Sith is the only one that feels Star Warsy. *dilemma*
Really it makes sense to swap the revenge and return around so TPM becomes Return Of The Sith (the Sith clearly return from being thought of as extinct) and the final episode returns to being Revenge Of The Jedi (despite what Lucas may say about Jedi being above such things the Jedi clearly had their arses handed to them in Episode III and return the favour in Episode VI.)
There is a Clone Wars TV DVD called A Galaxy Divided and it evokes British Civil War dramas like By The Sword Divided.
So I'd like A Galaxy Divided to be the Episode II title and The Shadow Falls is such a great title it really should be used at it would make a very good Episode III title.
Hi there mangojango, some really interesting ideas there, glad to have you onboard.
"a galaxy divided" is brilliant idea for a title. "the shadow falls" or "the falling shadow"? im personally divided over the "revenge of the jedi" title. it sounds quite dark as it is like the jedi (ie luke) is compromising himself, but the great thing about 'return' s that it can apply to vader's redemption too.
well at least he posted images. i dont think we should discredit people from trying with illustrations at least.
oh god whats happening to this forum tonight?:p has TFN launched some form of sleeper comedy spamming system that is beginning to present itself?:S
