no idea. annoyingly we don't see anakin in a fighter at all. i was wondering if elements could be cobbled from these sources ( SSWR?;) )

i. a close up of anakin's face from when obi wan asks about his dreams (sad face, peering down) this could be combined with a cockpit background.

ii. then we would need a jedi fighter taking off, which could be created, or stolen from the deleted scenes. perhaps even at a long shot from the CG clone wars as a workprint.

iia (also padme expectantly watching him from a window could be sourced from ROTS)

iii. which would then be mixed with the clone army ending scene, but without the senators, and the foreboding music. this whole experience should reflect a positive - "liberators of the galaxy" feel. so lots of jedi and clones leaving.

iv. the fleet would all assemble in space possibly, though i'd like it finish with the golden sky filled with triangles.

what music would people think fit best? i was wondering if it could be the ending music from A New Hope, or is anyone familiar with the ending of Ben-Hur?

i'd like an ending silmilar to the original clone wars series opener, with anakin leaving in his jedi starfighter, and the sky being filled with triangular star destroyers. padme stands sadly at the window watching him depart.

it could give a greater contrast of the departure at the end of SOTDS to the return at the beginning of ROTS. of course they would be meeting up shortly before to get all impregnated and such.

i've been browsing alot of those fake trailers on youtube, that combine clips from other movies to make mildly convincing star wars films. it could be a great resource here if we could identify films, and more to the point scenes that could be used in fan edits possibly?

The entire "sifo-dias" matter in SOTDS is moot-- the name has been cut. (Hopefully it will be changed even further if we can get the material worked out to replace "sifo-dias" with "Qui Gonn".)

 

i should have explained more fully. i had this idea ages ago of expanding upon lee's character more, and attempt to turn him into the new vader for the prequels. the use of a mask cold allow more footage to be shot.

specific storyline adustments would suggest that the 'masked lee' is known as count dooku, noone knows his real face. also this could later suggest that his 'real' identity could be the ex-jedi, long believed dead, who ordered the clones. of course much material and dialogue would need to be editted or cut, such as interchanges where characters know his identity.

it may be too far down another line for this edit, let alone difficult.

if there is to be a maul-grevious character, it would be awesome to have him feature as an actual character in the film, who gets toasted, so providing some form of humour later on when he returns even more robotic.

i also was pondering having Christopher Lee wear a mask throughout the film, and the name 'count dooku', is actually his alias for his true character (possibly making him sifo dias). he could remove the mask at the end of the film just before the duel.

on ep I integration - 'sifo-dias' could be mentioned somehow, maybe the jedi are going to naboo because his character never returned from negotiations. also maul would need to become a general, so lead troops and give orders.

we need men in suits with expensive equipment.

have you seen the episode of clone wars (series 2 episode 5) "landing at point rain". it has some good footage of y-wings and geonosan fighters, and loads of republic landing craft being destroyed. its not movie quality, and stylised, but good footage of vehicles if you wanted to replace some of the independence day clips.

That would be amazing! But a question to adywan (and I apologise that this may be the wrong thread, but this is an ady specific thread)

How much are you going to plan any PT work (additional plotlines, alternative interpretations etc) before embarking on ROTJ:R? The SAGA as a whole would have benefitted originally if there was some loose plan holding it together from the start, or at least before the finale.

And thus without revealing anything, would ROTJ:R be best viewed as a close for the OT, or the entire SAGA?

i can't stop looking at the flyby shot of the gantry, and get goosebumps every time.

what would people think to inserting a small shot during the duel, from a distance?

maybe not from such a distance, and would probably work only as they exited the building part.

i like bingowings suggestion AGES ago of streamlining the film so there is less going back and forth. sadly to achieve this we will need the magic fan edit machine, that is slightly beyond our grasp.

is there any way that the film opens on tatooine, from anakin's perspective. there would also appraoch three parties who interact with him.

1) The Jedi, who have come to take him for training. Anakin would initially refuse as they will not free his mother. "They cannot intervene"

2) The Naboo, crash landed on tatooine, come looking for spaceship parts. They meet Anakin in the shop. Padme explains their dreadful predicament.

3) The Sith, a mysterious dark figure is also hunting Anakin, skulking around menacingly.

after many adventures on tatooine, anakin convinces the Jedi to help the Naboo, offering his training as a bargain.

just some scraps for thought, although no idea how it could be done, and how much would need to be scrapped. would be a shame to lose the pod race as its quite a chunk of the film.

I was also wondering how possible it would be, and if it would be a sound concept. Coruscant material would need to be editted significanlty. I'd love to see the new jedi introduction (ship exploding, jedi out of smoke etc) as an introduction to the naboo battle, with the jedi fighting maul on the main ship.

Killing qui gon on tatooine sounds interesting, how much of the rest of the film be adjusted to suit this?

i thought beru and owen could have been a sort of han and leia of the PT. owen would go from being a young republic soldier to embittered old soldier. they would live on a backwater farm to escape the torments of the war.

i really liked SSWR ending idea, it sort of reminded me of the ESB ending.

the desaturation looks awesome with that spotlight. almost like 'Frank Miller's' Star Wars.;)
