was pondering today at work with endor on the brain.

what if:

• the rebels land on endor at night, with the moonlight shining off the deathstar's face.
• endor is full of dinosaurs and monsters, so the odd shot of a pterodactyle flying and monster moans in the background.
• the ewoks have glowing eyes, and should be regarded more as the 'spirits of the forest' who seem slightly magical.
• the ewoks ambush and kill the scouts enstead of han and chewie, they are united by this event.
• when luke presents himslef to vader the sun is rising, and everything is eerily quiet whilst bathed in orange ("the deep breath before the plunge")
• the bunker battle could have these endorian 'monsters' incorporated. sort of like nature itself is turning against the empire.

one thing this thread has taught me is that there were only two decent star wars films.

rotj feels so small. two locations, that's all we get, and now with the prequels behind it too it seems even more claustrophobic.

i was thinking of this project the other day. wouldn't it be wonderful if someone somehow made a wolfenstein grindhouse to go with it?

The Genndy cartoon had no storytelling, and it didn't respect the EU all the time (thankfully). As for respecting the movies, both cartoons did. And who cares for the EU?

i have a possible solution to the ewok question. i was trying to put it together on Final Cut but i am having issues.

when we first see scout troopers, what if they are ambushed by ewoks? the rebels could go down to assist them perhaps? this could introduce them as killers. footage for this can be stolen from the battle of endor.

after the encounter, they could just go to the village without being tied up, bonding over a common enemy. leia just follows wicket there. not sure what luke's journey would be.

is there a way to get the sound files from the soundboards? im sure someone mentioned it.

i love the red stripes, and all the insignia, but its all about kitschness for me, not logic. i'd love to see a PT more akin to the early mcquarrie drawings.

erm. hmm.

logo - very cool, but no. could work if someone tackled the reborn project.

red text - if you did this for every film in a different colour, like a thread somewhere suggested, then yes. but no.

grey ships - could you try making the light on them REALLY bright. the SDs in ANH look almost white, not gun metal grey. the fighters need some seperation, so perhaps they could remain the darker grey?

it would be awesome to see a vintage special effects genius redo this sequence with models, and see what is left with all the limitations.

could obiwan pick up the sabre from the temple? this could serve as an alternative discovery of 'darth vader's' identity? (as oppose to the holographic security footage.)

also, i was going to mention this before. have you considered changing the motive of obiwan's motives for going to mustafar? enstead of 'destroying the sith' obiwan could go to save his friend from damnation.

yoda's lines from this scene could be repaced with him talking about their exile, and obiwan could mention that he needs to do something first.

but isn't over-explanation what clogs up the PT? from AOTC we should have the impression something fishy is going on with the clones.

but do we actually need to see the order being given? its delivery was not exactly the strongest part of the film. its ridiculous to think palpatine actually addresses each commander individually.

i never liked order 66. it always felt a bit contrived. would it work if the clones  zapped kenobi, and the whole sequence played out without the order being seen, so as if from the jedi's perspective?

alot better jaitea, i definitly see what your point is and it makes alot of sence.

could an alternative approach be inserting a shot of an imperial officer taking the orders?

have you tried changing the bridge lighting from green to white? it fudges the screens up a bit, but the floor lighting looks really good when you try it.
