RotJR will have new shots and effects. But no prequel stuff. Adywan wants the prequels to fit in with the originals.

yes, well aware of that, but surely if the new PT is to fit in with the OT there should be some concrete links between them? loose plotlines tied up in rotj that concludes all five preceeding films other than just the two that preceeded it originally.

if you are pooling your time/resources for the PT, would it be worth putting ROTJ in the pool too?

considering the possibility for additional shots for that, and including visual and narrative links to the PT could produce a more cohesive saga? or are you approaching it more as two trilogies?

great news though, and a very sensible choice!

bringing the briefing characters into the opening could be good.

the shot of a hologram fading into the real thing isn't that star warsy, although it is cool.

i would like to see the entire saga brought together in this film, so some PT hooks would be good, even if it opens in coruscant perhaps?

some good stuff with this guy.

Clone Wars Animated Fan Edit (Updated)--Watch 1st Five Minutes
Time

i was always hoping for grevious' backstory, and for them to re-do the old series, so seeing anakin getting knighted etc. ALTHOUGH, the arc with the "planet of the force" sort of redid the old animated series where anakin has his "test of the spirit" (really cool snow planet and native american-esque race), and it was really really stupid.

would love to see a ventress film.

what are you sourcing from? i heard the dvd movie had a just  one channel for music, which would be handy if the series was the same.

I’m using the Blu Rays.  So far the primary dialogue and sound effects are on the center channel with the music and secondary sound effect on the right and left channels.

Fwarr. That may just tempt me to buy them!

They are trying to figure out the chronological order for many of the episodes. Could be good for B-storylines or longer arcs.

That does leave the "I'll meet you at the rendezvous point on Tatooine." line a little strange, but not unsalvageable.

Tatooine is never mentioned by name in ANH (I don't think), so it could be anywhere really. I always liked the idea that luke's desert homeworld didn't even have a name!

IF jabba is portrayed as an old villain in the reworked PT, aka, the old big bad, geonosis (or whatever it is changed to) could be this alternative new world? Could be really flash in the PT, and just a burnt husk in ROTJ.

This is why the PT falls flat on it's face nine times out of ten.

ESB has a moral centre which is missing in those films.

LUKE : Is the dark side stronger?

YODA : No...no...no. Quicker, easier, more seductive.

LUCAS AOTC Commentary : We're cementing [Anakin's] determination to become the most powerful Jedi. The only way you can really do that is to go to the dark side because the dark side is more powerful. If you want the ultimate power, you really have to go to the stronger side, which is the dark side.

ahhhh! that is awesome!

I think prune-face was just another excuse for an action figure really.

I've always found this to be a cheap shot at Lucas.

Were all the aliens in the cantina just an excuse? Were the ugnauts or Lando's copilot just excuses?

We complan that all the shuttles in ROTJ were the same, but if they were different were they just excuses to sell another vehicle?

Frankly I wish there were MORE superfluous aliens in ROTJ.

hmm, maybe its all an excuse for an action figure... point being as fore-mentioned that this guy is a cheap background addition, who just sort of looks a bit rubbish and either hovers so far in the distance or disappears entirely. I'm all for additional aliens, especially as rebel pilots and troopers (assuming that the rebels on yavin and hoth were just one arm of the rebellion). aliens in the cantina and jabbas palace was more of a play on how exotic and unusual the environment was i assumed. it would certainly seem alot less exciting if aliens were just everywhere.

enstead of adding aliens though, really need to look at adding all those sideburns that we lost after ANH.

Random thought I had a while ago.

What if the exposition in ROTJ could reveal that luke has been missing since the end of ESB. So he recuperates with the fleet and then just disappears?

The material would be a bit thin on the ground, but perhaps his reveal could be within the sarlaac scene, so Han is about to be fed by himself? Luke could be on the barge and is revealed then.

I agree with Mithrandir about the current state of ROTJ. Jabba's palace feels like a huge intermission really. It made sense for a trilogy finale, but not for a saga finale.

I would suggest making Jabba's palace have more of a hook in the prequels, then it may just have some relevance to tying up some loose plot strings. Dealing with some long unfinished business.
