i definitely think thats why he made the prequels, but i think he couldve made them more entertainingly, wouldnt that have ensured bigger profits?

Naboo meadow (Location shot)
Naboo Royal Palace (Location Shot, Caserta Palace)

I'm sure there's a couple more, but that's a HIGH number of locations. For Episode III, this goes up even more. Not counting miniatures used as background plates, like parts of the Arena Battle

but NOTHING was untouched by digital effects. by the way the arena model was SCANNED into the computer and filmed that way. lucas does that alot with models which is why they look so fake in the end

thats why ep3 feels almost like a different movie, because 3p0 and jar jar are non exsistent. r2 doesnt bother me as much even though he kinda takes their place

just because it goes on dvd doesnt mean directors should go in a mess with the damn films! directors of genre films from the late 70's and early 80's, give it a rest! by the way i'm glad someone thought the directors cut of star trek sucked as well. now if i can only get someone to agree about superman and its lame sound alterations and its over tweaked color

personally i think they should leave the films alone, period. cleaning it up is fine but everything else, bad mattes, and so forth are part of film history and need to be left alone. by the way if you wanted the original no ep4 title crawl than they should offer it, along with the numerous sound changes as seperate audio tracks

i just wish the prequels had been trimmed down a bit, espescially ep 1 and 2. i thought rots was fine, a little clunky here and there. although i dont like to over complicate ep 4 too much by thinking of the prequels, i think it works better without them . also i miss the fairy tale qualities in the pt. thought that was what sucked the most about them, they felt too contemporary for some reason

i think lucas was really tired of star wars by the time of jedi so he decided to wrap it up. although i just read an old mark hamill interview before he made empire saying he was signed up for two more films and that was all, so who knows?
