i hate that he didnt reveal his true intentions in releasing the special editions and finally the prequels. there was an 'official' reason but i'd rather hear the real one

lucas always said though that the prequels would be alot less fun than the ot from way back. so i dont know what to think. i do know he couldve worked a little harder at consistency between the trilogies, that wouldve done wonders. i mean even if the prequels completely sucked, which they mostly do, he couldve at least had that to fall back on

still i dont get how someone makes something everyone here considers so perfect (star wars) to something as dreadful as the special editions and the prequels, what went wrong with lucas then? i cant believe it was just a fluke

i also like what someone else said about the prequels having no breathers between scenes. you know scenes where the audience can catch thier breath. the films go from one scene to the next without pausing, i noticed that but didnt know exactly what it was when i first saw tpm. thats really been more my criticism for these films than anything else. theyre tiring

i just think this scene is wierd because wouldnt sidious be worried that vader and luke could supplant him? if i were the darth sidious of the prequels, creative mastermind, or whatever, i would send someone else after luke

i never thought that some day there wouldnt be grain on films anymore, i always thought grain was part of the charm of film. i think it adds more depth. im not against digital photography i just like preserving things the way they were when they were first released. not add anything which they do when they take away things that were origianlly there. still i could lose the grain if they just fixed some of the other things i was talking about . or 'unfix' them

i hate the remastered dvds for that above example alone. what is up with blue hoth? it looks like different films to me now. its not that im against change but the dvds just look strange. i think i could get over any special edition tinkering if the films would just look more natural, meaning a little more grain, more contrast, less weird color and a little more brightness. this would match up with the prequels better, they look more natural than these movies do now and thats saying something

ep 1 and 2 are just excuses to get to ep3. i think if he had made ANH be ep 2 or 3 it wouldve worked better. i dont get why he thought he needed 3 films to tell this story, even as far back as 1981 when ANH was retitled ep 4. this is about my only gripe with the prequels, i just wish the first two were shorter. and because of that they have horrible replay value

yeah i liked those padme scenes too. i just think he should rework the prequels rather than the ot, since i had more problems with them, by the way i dont care as much about continuity as i do about rewatchability
