BIG agree. This is a great improvement. And I agree about removing Ochi killing her parents, anything that portrays them as important to the story detracts from the “Rey Nobody” idea.

The ghosts being red is weird visually. Personally (and who knows if this is even an option) I would re-color all of the Exegol footage, and then check in with Jonh if he’s still got his original project files from adding the ghosts. Instead of re-coloring around them, if he could swap in the alt-colored-Exegol in his project with the blue ghosts still on top of it, that would be great.

Yup, it removes any and all tension from the scene. The music is so absolutely triumphant while Rey is still struggling, it’s telegraphing how easily she’s about to defeat Palpy.

I could see this working in the movie actually. That triumphant music cue really is made of pure dopamine, isn’t it?

I wouldn’t say that it works in terms of the movie, but the timing is flawless! Very well done, but it’s definitely still obviously trailer music, not John Williams score, and would feel a bit disjointed in that regard.

Seriously though, EXCELLENT timing on the cuts!

I actually love that. I’m hoping that someone does all of the Exegol scenes in red or gray, the blue is so bland.

I’d be very interested to see a clip like that! Anything to give it its own visual identity.

I just wish we didn’t get three new desert planets in the Disney movies, you know? Between Jedha, Jakku, and Pasaana, it seems like they could have given one of them blue or teal or orange or purple sand, or something.

Someone had mentioned attempting to change the color of Pasaana so it’s not just another desert, was that ever mocked up? Is it too ambitious to color grade all that sand to a different color?

Is it only me that hates those little spikes? To me, they turn a perfectly fine lightsaber design into something from 2012 DeviantArt. Hell, if it doesn’t bother anyone else nearly as much as it bothers me, and if someone can send me the bit of footage and tell me what to do with my export settings (Premiere Pro CS6 for Mac), I’ll even do it myself.

Are you talking about the triangular vent/flap things on top? They don’t bother me from a visuals/design standpoint, I’m more confused by how they seem to be entering the beam of the saber without being destroyed.

I have a new updated edit/version with the new track,
Recut the whole track to fit the scenes pacing better, it also keeps the original in there, its about 50 seconds now and has a lot more emphasis on Duel Of The Fates, repeats twice but smoothly transitions together. I don’t think Hal is interested in updating the origianl version, but always good to get feedback.

The clip that shortens Palpatine’s line doesn’t flow well, but cutting Rey’s line down is fantastic. Makes a huge difference for me personally.

I believe that the only way to pull it would be to cut him completely from thr Exegol 3rd act, and restructure the scenes order, so the scene of him and Han Solo wpuld appear just before the final Tatooine scene. He just throws the lightsaber and stands there. It d be a nice ending for him, like, bitter sweet. He s brought back to the light, but what next? What can he do now? It would be a nice end for thos character.

Yeah, it’s definitely not a feasible edit, just wishful thinking on my part.

I think the main issue is that all of them except Fluid are just shapes scrolling up rather than random movement. Since Fluid doesn’t do that, is it possible to stack Fluid on top of the other three effects to see if it becomes more randomized?
