Here’s what I came up with for that scene. Not a lot of meat on the bones, but it works as a little pop of action and showing Rey giving in to her anger a little bit.

A few minutes later, I’m using a version of the “You will kill Palpatine and take the throne” edit that’s further up the thread. So we get a little reminder of that here too.

I really like this, but I feel like the Sith whispers are a bit to prominent. Could you send me the audio files? I’d like to try something with them to make them fit the scene a bit better.

Here is an example of a potential line for an edit that emphasizes the friend her friends face. Just, “Your friends are doomed.”
I feel like this voice would need to be deeper. I just feel like it won’t fit with the rest of his dialogue.

One of those was simply adding effects and pitching it down, the other one slowed the clip down as well.

That is very elegantly done! I agree with RogueLeader that the ghosts work in theory, I just don’t know if their appearance has enough weight/significance with the current pacing, mainly due to Palpatine’s line specifically directed at Rey coming while they appear.

Oh wow. Now the only thing missing is the mask effects. I wonder what this would sound like run through the filters that Poppasketti used for “you were right”?

Okay, this is actually huge. I know that there had been a lot of talk before about making new Kylo lines, but chopping them up yielded less-than-convincing results. If someone taps this person to make new Adam Driver lines, I will happily make a Kylo mask effect for them. Great find!

I don’t have a 5.1 setup, can anyone tell me if the Stormtrooper voices in this scene are just in the center channel or if they’re all over? Wondering how difficult it would be to remove them.

My intense (but might not work out) idea for this scene was too add a whole new soundscape. I really want to have a scene that shows civil unrest under FO rule, so it’s not quite as out-of-nowhere when the wind Galaxy rises up at the end of the movie.

I wad thinking of making it sound like a riot is going on farther back in the city, with these troopers split between trying to keep everyone else detained in their homes, and marching towards an area they’re being deployed to. Any graffiti would be great to show that Kijimi is a protest hotspot, but could anyone here add flashes of laser fire to the establishing shot as the Trio’s ship flies in?

There are already a good amount of noises in the scene, I’d mainly add voices and distant blaster fire. It should sound like they landed far away from the action.

Honestly I really don’t know if this will work, but I’d like to give it a shot first, and then if it’s a non-starter we can try simply replacing trooper dialogue instead. Does this sound like a good idea to anyone?

Yeah. Maybe the hypothetical “Skywalker Lives” text could come accompanied of the jacked Luke from the original SW poster to drive the point home.

The Rebel crest could also be thrown in (to allude to the Resistance already having allies across the galaxy), and we could draw inspiration from the official Star Wars propaganda artbook.

These are great ideas. You’re right, it should probably one be one Aurebesh line, like Skywalker Lives, and mostly pictures. The Rebel crest done up like a tag is a great idea.

If oviniboy is Brazilian, definitely take whatever they say over me, I haven’t lived in Brazil for 10 years now so I’m a bit rusty. I wasn’t sure if literally saying “highly trained” would feel stilted, but if they think it works, go for theirs.

When they were first talked about, I offered to do the audio if the visuals are done, so yeah I’ll definitely add voices if this happens! I just only know how to do audio, so I can’t really help with any of the designs or edits.

I agree that it makes enough sense for Lando to just call it “The First Order” so your average galaxy-dweller would know who he’s talking about. But if anyone comes up with some other BDW lines they would prefer to use, absolutely PM me and I can add it to the transmission!
