Are you being ignored by Jedi Temple34?

I think if we all repeat this at once we can get Jedi Temple34's head to explode.

3D STAR WARS for the masses...has ARRIVED!
Time

I've got to admit, this all makes me sick. Not the 3D part of it as i would go and watch the OT in 3D if just for the fact that it's on the big screen. No, it's the fact that the OT in 3D won't happen unless the Prequels do well. Talk about kicking us OT fans in the balls again. So he's basically saying to us that we have to support the PT3D or we won't get the OT3D. So we can probably place a safe bet that the OT3D just ain't going to happen. There is no way i'm going to pay to see the PT on the big screen ever again. The only way i would sit through it would be purely for novelty value and only if it was either a cut price showing or free.

But wait a minute, didn't GL say that the reason that we can't have a restored OUT is because "it's too expensive"?. But it's ok to spend all the money to make these films 3D? How can it be too expensive to restore the OUT when he would easily recoup his money from the blu-ray / DVD sales. Pure and simple he wants the OUT buried

If you wanted to do this then you would have to re-edit both the video and audio. You would also need to add a music fadeout at the start of the conference scene because the original and new music do not match and you would have a very jarring cut or just use the purist cut down version of the reveal with the original music.

If someone wants to do it then fair enough but i won't be having anything to do with it or offering any help because i have too much on my plate at the moment and i need to finish ESB:R as soon as i can

Adywan, would you be willing to supply the needed audio and video to someone capable of doing this?

It's already available. I only have the same DVDs that are on the net. The original files are all gone.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

Thanks for all the words of support guys.

I have stated many times that i won't be adding any music that wasn't already in the movie

The "arm around Han" error will have to remain as it can't be fixed. Filming a double wouldn't work either, even just to replace an arm. Some things just can't be fixed. Ad i know there are going to be people moaning that some of the errors remain but quite frankly i don't give a damn.

One error i'm really surprised no one has ever mentioned is the 2004 imperial insignia replacement monstrosity. Not only does the badge shift places between shots but when the officer turns the badge jumps all over the place and is one of the worse pieces of motion tracking for digital replacement in the movie.

i've fixed this and made the motion as he turns smoother so it doesn't look like the badge is jumping all over the place.

We don't know the full extent of Dad's cancer as yet but we know that once treatment begins i'm going to have to be caring for him. So i need to get this edit finished and out the way as soon as i can. I'm working all the hours i can finishing the video side of things while working on the miniatures and costumes etc. I'm still in desperate need of donations to get this thing finished. It's going to cost me even more for materials after Xmas when this bloody government introduce the VAT rise in January. Delivery charges and everything will rise. So if i can the remaining materials before Jan then it would be great.

And sorry to anyone who has been emailing or PMing me recently and haven't had a reply. I will get around to answering them whenever i can, but with no Internet access at my dads it isn't easy and it will take a while so please be patient.

Info Wanted: ANH.....Revisited or Purist???
Time

I won't be redoing ANH:R. I have to move forward or i will never complete the saga. I did look into just doing a new audio track that could be easily replaced without losing any of the DVD-9 menus or features. But this is impossible because there is 1 shot that is a different length between the purist and proper revisited version and that is when Obi-Wan's cloak falls. You just can't sync the original audio to the sabre duel.

There will always be bits that people don't like in any movie. If i tried to do an edit that would suit everyone then there would be thousands of different versions of ANH:R out there.

If you wanted to do this then you would have to re-edit both the video and audio. You would also need to add a music fadeout at the start of the conference scene because the original and new music do not match and you would have a very jarring cut or just use the purist cut down version of the reveal with the original music.

Well, yes, that's exactly it. The point where he turns his head to see the falcon (not snowspeeder). I know you already fixed that point where he turns his head, but he seems to be turning it "inhumanely fast", don't you? His head turns too fast, way too fast, for it to be normal, even if it is just to queue it in time with the falcon turning round.

Or is that just me?

Yep, just you, i'm afraid. ;) There hasn't been any speeding up added to the clip or the original. Looks perfectly natural to me.

Adywan, I was watching your final ESB:R trailer again, and I noticed that around 0:51-0:52, when Luke spots the snowspeeder, his head/neck movement seems much too jarring. Did you notice that, and fix it?

It was supposed to be a fix already, but it seems much to stuttering now.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DPtwBQpDl08&feature=related

I really haven't got a clue what you mean. Is it when he turns to see the falcon? Well if it is that has been fixed as can be seen in the trailer. There is nothing jarring about it and certainly no stuttering

Ady...is the timing of when Chewbacca goes up the ramp during their escape from Hoth going to be altered to fix the continuity error of him going up the ramp twice? You can see he goes up the ramp and is seen no more until they show a close up of Han going up the ramp and then Chewie starts about 3/4 of the way up the ramp to enter the Falcon again.

gurgle1624 said:

A more noticable continuty error that does bug me is right before Han says" That'll do nicely" 3PO's hands are entangled on Chewie's shoulder hair and then when the camera switches to show the front of chewie 3PO's hands are no where near his shoulders and Chewie's hair is smooth where a frame before it was a mess with 3PO's hands.

Any word on fixing this?

fixed and fixed

Ady, are you just using the ships from the Matte, and you have built or will build the hanger in miniature?

Yes, i'm only using the ships. The rest will be a miniature. Looking at the scan closely i noticed that the closest transport is actually a photograph of the model. I always thought that this one looked too good to be a painting.

And yes, the edit has gone through a lot of changes since the first workprint

savmagoett you are a Saviour :) I really can't thank you enough. Just look at those original colours. So beautiful. Just PM me the link :)

It's really good to see you back. Would it be ok for me to PM you because i wanted to talk to you about the varying scales of the transport in the movie.

And i thought you will redo this shot with model props :(

-Angel

I only needed the transports that are in that matte as i don't have access to a studio scale model of the transports and the CG transports don't hold up very well at close range but were fine for background models. The rest of the hangar i would be building a miniature set, but without the transports it's hit a brick wall, and i certainly don't want to have to use the shot as it is now :(

this totally sucks. If he has the mattes in hi-res then i would be able to make a reconstruction of the pre-SE version of ANH so much better than having to use most of the GOUT stuff :(

Bossk makes a comment (in his language) and his lips nor jaw move at all. It would be nice to add some subtle touches like eye blinks and some jaw/lip movement to account for the sounds/speech he is making.

But if you look at the scene he has already finished the comment before we cut to see his face so he isn't saying anything when we see him

I thought you said somewhere earlier that you gave him some facial articulation.

Yes i did, but if you read the comment i was replying to he was talking about adding movements to account for his speech, which Bossk has already finished speaking before the camera cuts to him

Does anyone have a high-res picture of the matte painting used in this shot?

My god, kenkraly2007. Please just shut up about it. It seems as soon as someone mentions anything negative you chime in, but with the same thing over and over again. It seems like you're on a mission and pop up in many threads but say nothing new. I'm fed up with every time i come in to read new posts all i seem to read is you saying we're all going to be wrong about the blu-rays. I keep getting a feeling of deja vue

I really wondered when I saw your ANH:R, why did (or do) you care to refer to the prequels that way. Is it important ? Besides, who tells in five years or so, you won't have the will, and perhaps the ways, to change these things you refer to now ? (Perhaps you already planned? Then, don't tell).

That is why there are 2 versions of ANH:R - the regular DVD and the purist. The purist is for those that don't want anything to do with the prequels so the music during the battle is gone along with Darth Vader's theme . While the regular version is to be viewed as a 6 film saga and will also work with the prequels as they are officially

But isn't that the whole point of what makes a good movie. It enables the audience to interpret things their own way instead of having everything spelled out for them (like the bloody PT)

I'm not going to be changing the way it looks. I've loved that star ever since 1980. Some things just don't need to be changed.

STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I still prefer the idea that it's a forming star. It symbolizes a new beginning. They have all just gone through hell. They have suffered a heavy defeat and been forced to abandon their base on Hoth, they have been betrayed at Bespin and have lost their friend, Luke has suffered not only the loss of his hand but also just found out that the person he hates the most is his father.

Now Lando is off with Chewie to find Han, his character fully changed from bad guy to good guy and they head off towards the star. A new beginning for him too.

I have never liked the idea of it's a galaxy. It's moving too fast for one and its bright center looks more like a star than the center of the galaxy.

Just because it was said the be the galaxy in 2003 doesn't mean to say it was originally intended to be just that. I don't believe most things that are said about the trilogy since the early 90's because it just seems that they change the history all the time.
