STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

Wow, it's gone a little mad in here recently. Can't we all just get along guys? Let's stop all the bickering. Not exactly what i really want to read when i come in here with everything going on.

Ghostbusters, i will never make money off these edits and i would never want to. It's not why i do them. Not only is it illegal it's just morally wrong to earn money from someone else's hard work. I only receive donations towards materials because there is no possible way i would ever be able to do these edits without it.

INVAR, almost all of the shots of the Wampa are to be replaced. Not much i can do about the arm when it strangles the Taun Taun or hits luke, but the rest i can do something about.

I need to read through all the other stuff when i get a bit more time free.

Will the color of the star wars films episodes 4-6 be fixed for the blu-ray release?
Time

No, the colours of the OT at the Star Wars concert were exactly the same as the 2004 set. Only TPM had a really good restoration job done to it. The colours in that looked perfect and CG Yoda did look pretty good from the glimpses we got. It was reported by someone who went to CV that the Ep4 showing they managed to catch part of didn't look like it had Luke's green sabre but they weren't sure.

Don't forget that the colour changes were done by Lucasfilm Before they sent it off to Lowrey so i can't see them paying for another restoration

Info &amp; Idea: SERIOUS preservationists ONLY

Rattlehead said:

Sorry Andywan.  I've been overseas for a while and I forgot how paranoid Americans can be.  I see your point, but I've also been too busy for bulletin boards (not just this one, but in general) for several years and forgot just how microscopic the scrutiny of every word of a post gets.  I just don't have the time or desire to scrutinize the tone and wording of every post the way some people do here (or on boards in general).  I guess my thinking is still in European mode and an invitation to a very public and crowded place where no one is possibly going to come to any harm didn't strike me as weird or creepy or anything, and a request for a mobile number to facilitate said meeting also didn't strike me as strange.  As far as only talking about things in person... refer again to what I just said about scrutiny.

If you going to come across at me with that higher than thou attitude you could at least get my bloody name right. And i'm British, not American so your point is a fail there.

You see this is what really bugs me about what you are saying. You say you only want to talk to real preservationists and in person at somewhere like Star Tours. So, in your mind, anyone that lives outside of the USA is just not worth your precious time and can't be serious preservationists? Or do you think you are so important that anyone that is serious would spend hundreds of pounds and jump on a flight just so they could meet you?

But seriously, what is the big deal about only wanting to meet people in person? With todays technology the world has become a lot smaller. Why couldn't you start out by talking to these people in a video conference call on the net first? Wouldn't this be a simpler idea to start off with and you wouldn't alienate anyone that lives outside of the USA?

STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

No. it's ok ghostbusters. Janskeet donated solely to upgrade the computer and that was his proviso for the donation. He had already donated towards materials when i was getting the Wampa fur.. I have what i need to work in 1080p for jedi but i need to concentrate on getting ESB:R out of the way first.

It's hard to put a ball park figure on how much would still be needed. A big expense at the moment is the liquid silicone for the molding process . This costs around £90 for a 5.5kg tub (approx 5 litres) and i have gone a tub already and that is with using it sparingly. It really doesn't go very far. I did try using vinamold, which is a reusable rubber,  but this caused hell of a mess and having to melt it in a pot caused a lot of problems in such a small flat even with the windows wide open, plus it had a high tendency for air bubbles. Then there is all the extra bits like liquid plastic, which is a lot tougher than using resin which is perfect for the trooper backpack stuff and other accessories. I may also need more fur. The plans changed a little since it was just going to be a head an shoulders puppet, but i really need to build half a suit that can be used as a puppet and also can be worn for some of the cave shots. Thats going to be fun because i have to build a partial cave set in my front room. Haven't told the wife yet. lol The main problem is that they don't sell the real fur pelts anymore and the only fake stuff that is any good i have to import from turkey (4 inch pile) and this looks exactly the same as the tibetan lamb fur i have so could be used for the body sections. Now this is cheaper than the real fur but it is still over £30 per half metre  and the postage isn't cheap either. And i would need at least 3 metres :(

Plus theres all the other little bits and bobs that all mount up. So i really can't put a close figure on it all. The only thing i can do is once i have everything i need then any donations i receive they will be automatically refunded

And muddyknees, yes that would be fine as long as no donations are taken for any copies of the DVD. If they want to donate on their own accord then that's fine.

Yeh it's pretty obvious him and his little sidekick are just Lucas worshipers and are trying to stir things up just to get hits. If he can say something like this:

Scanning the original print and tossing it on DVD as is would look like more crap than the 93 laserdisc.

then it just shows he's an idiot because isn't he telling us we could easily do a high quality restoration from a degraded theatrical print?  And he's supposed to be a documentary filmmaker? Geesh can you imagine the one sided crap he puts out?

The donations are going for a new CPU?

Wasnt for materials?

Why now it needs replacement? Isnt the currect one enough powerful for the task?

where all these money go?

Why not keeping your money already? Economy crisis?

No, donations aren't going towards a new CPU or any computer equipment.  Janskeet donated on the condition that it was to get a fast enough PC to do ROTJ:R in 1080p since the blu-rays will be available for next year. He told me it was not to be spent on materials unless i had any monies left over.I mentioned all this in here when Janskeet made the donation.  I could have just spent the money on materials and would have had enough to finish the edit but i am too honest to do something like this.

Any donations i get are solely for materials and nothing else.   And Ghostbusters i did reply last week. I'll have to resend the email again when i can get to my emails.

Just shows this guy knows absolutely nothing about the truth behind why we haven't got the original versions.

http://www.bigshinyrobot.com/reviews/archives/17816

Do the transfer ourselves then hand it to GL as a present who would have to release it? Does he not realize that GL took almost all 35mm copies  of the movie out of existence and what are available wouldn't be anywhere near the quality a direct transfer from the negative would. I just had to put that idiot straight as to why fans are finding it impossible to restore these movies themselves

And i guess he wasn't too happy about the comments on his blog that came from over here too.

Rattlehead, the one thing you have to understand is that the internet is full of nutters and we have had a lot of them come in here from time to time. And when someone who people know nothing about suddenly wants to meet up with people then suspicions are raised. There are some very strange star wars fans out there that . I have personally received death threats from some fans because i dared to meddle with George's creations And when you said in your first post that you would only talk about things in person and wanted peoples personal phone numbers you have to admit it did sound a little odd. We are in a forum after all so couldn't you have started talking about things in here first before asking for personal things like this? It would have come across a lot better.

Need Vegas 9 audio Help.
Time

If you are rendering them out as mono files then you need to change your project settings. Change your settings to stereo, move any audio sliders that are set to either left or right to the center. Then mute every track apart from the channel you want to render as a mono file. When rendering make sure that "enable multichannel mapping" is unticked. Set your output to wav mono and render. Then do the same for each channel.

Best of luck to you and your family, Ady.

I don't want to harp on it, but do you have a response to this?

The Golden Idol said:

Hey Ady, rewatching the trailer again, I noticed that in the shot where Leia, Lando, and Chewie run along the Bespin balcony, R2 seems to be stuck in the hallway, and you can see his back leg stop for a moment and move back and forth as if stuck. Also, in that same scene, the R2 element slightly "bleeds" onto the wall that is in front of him, which is noticeable because the wall's edge stops being straight when R2 passes behind it:

Also, is the blurriness of the running characters in this scene fixed? I know you've said a while ago that the ILM elements botched the superimposed character elements in the SE, but the blurry outlines they have in the ESB:R trailer are not very convincing; it looks like Leia, Lando and Chewie were pasted in the scene.

What you saw in the trailer was an early version of this shot before the final rotoscoping . The rotoscoping done in the SE was awful but i couldn't use the GOUT to fix this because it was just too bad quality. The R2 issue with the wall has been fixed. The strange motion you see with R2 as if he is jumping around is due to the fact that they didn't bother stabilizing the footage before rotoscoping him and then they did a very bad job at changing the position where he stops because they had changed the position of the elements from the original. I've stabilized R2 and he turns a lot smoother now

STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 <strong>REVISITED</strong> ADYWAN *<em>1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION</em>
Time

I removed only the parts of the SE Mos Eisley footage that i found to be terrible (the Jawa/ronto slapstick and the small droid getting hit). It's a common misconception that the new sequences were all CG. The buildings were miniature physical models and the first shot with the rat creatures was only touched up from the original element. Using the GOUT for any of that sequence would have looked terrible.

here is a first run of Jango Fett vs obi-wan colour corrected

Before you attempt any form of colour correction make sure that you have your monitor properly calibrated. That video is way too orange/ brown so i can guess that your monitor is probably set to "cool".

Info Wanted: ANH.....Revisited or Purist???

All i said that i had already answered everything you needed. Then you come back with really rude remarks. I wasn't being funny or anything i just answered a question. You say you knew about what is going on in my life at the moment, yet you bombarded me with emails which all weren't about this thread at all, one was asking about my plans for boba fett in ROTJ:R.

You say you knew about my situation so i gather you read this in the ESB:R thread. So why be such an ass by saying that "my time must be too valuable" to answer your questions, when i already had? And then you wonder why i snapped back at you? A comment like that is one of the most insensitive things i have heard. Of course my time is too valuable. I'm having to take care of my 80 year old dad who has just found out he has cancer only 8 months after my mum died. I may have been a bit harsh with my reply and for that i apologize, but i'm with all the things that i'm having to juggle at the moment i'm getting about 3 hours sleep a night and then i read your reply and i just snapped.  I had helped you and told you what you needed to know but i guess that just wasn't enough for you.My retaliation was purely down to your smart alec comment, which now looks even worse since you did in fact know why i'm so busy at the moment when you wrote that.

That's the biggest load of bull i have heard. I try to help out when i can when people have asked for it and also try and reply to every emails, PM and you should know that because of the amount of times you sent me messages over on youtube, and i answered them. I had never been rude towards you and my reply about the information was not a rude post and just a statement, but you took it completely the wrong way.

Muddyknees2000, there is no need to keep sending me multiple PM's as i have answered everything you wanted to know already in this thread.

well pardon me, I was still a little confused about a certain matter, which is why I was looking for clarification from the source, but apparently your time is too valuable. I guess I had mistaken your presence on a forum based website as a willingness or desire to answer questions and participate in discussions.

Maybe you should find out why i just haven't got the time to answer all these questions before you start being a dick. I fuckin help people out all the time but i have more important things to worry about at the moment than an edit i had finished with a long time ago. I even gave you pointers as to what you would need to do to be able to accomplish your goal. But i guess you want everything done for you. You picked completely the wrong time to be such an asshole towards me. I was actually going to take some time out to produce a new audio track that you could use and then all you would need to do is replace the one shot of Obi-Wan's slowed down cloak. But sod it. You're on your own.
