Japanese Star Wars special including some behind the scenes stuff i've never seen before. The first 2 parts basically uses clips from the Making of Star Wars doc, but the good stuff starts from part 3. Shame about the Japanese voice over though.

I can't really blame him for removing the first post and link after the reaction it got. This actually looked like a much better site than that NNRRPPB one. Maybe, instead of jumping on anyone new in here to rip into them, we should give them a chance. No wonder this site is getting a really bad name in Star Wars fandom.
Thank you everybody for you kind words. It's a really tough time for us all at the moment. I really don't like having to sort through all Dads personal things and deciding what needs to be kept and what has to go. Just so much left to do before the funeral next Thursday. I have no idea when i will get back to the edit as i just don't feel like doing anything at the moment.
There was already a thread about this, but after he decided to inform everyone that he would only ever show it to a few friends and it would never be shown to anyone outside his elite circle, then it seemed pointless for anyone to bother being interested in it.

No it wasn't. It was pretty lame compared to the original and just too short. Even the 2 different endings couldn't save that game.
Yet again us fans outside of the USA get forgotten. 4 of the 6 movies were made here in the UK, yet we only get 1 event. But i agree with Warbler, there is nothing to celebrate with the current sate of the franchise.

thanks for all the well wishes guys. Dad has had to go into a hospice because he now needs round the clock medical attention. he has deteriorated so much. We got a bit of a scare yesterday morning when the hospice rang up and said we needed to get up there as soon as possible because they didn't think he had long left to live, but he seemed to improve and become much more alert as soon as i got there. They did say that we do have to prepare for the worse though and it would only be a matter of time unless a miracle happens. my heart sinks everytime the phone rings now.
It seems like things just keep going from bad to worse. Sadly my daughter suffered a miscarriage on saturday and this has knocked me for six. She seems fine and is keeping her spirits up, but I just feel like cracking up.
Moving your project solely to facebook and deleting all your posts here is probably the worse thing you have done, especially when it seems like your motivation is to receive attention, especially with a quote like this:

Just because you don't get a lot of replies in here doesn't mean there is no interest in your project. Maybe you should have looked at the amount of views your page gets and not reply solely on how many replies you get. Since March, when you started this page, you have received over 3200 views, which is pretty good going for a few months. There are many lurkers here who follow many edits but hardly ever post anything in a thread. This doesn't mean that you are getting no interest in your project, but more that they feel they have nothing to say or contribute towards the edit.
Maybe you should have also been clearer on what people should search for in Facebook to find you. After a few tries i managed to find your page.
So it now seems you want to only share this with the elite few who "like" your page? Members only benefits? This is NOT the way to go if you want your edit to receive the attention you seem to crave. It will only serve to alienate people.
You would have been better off keeping everything you posted here intact and just used facebook to branch out to a different audience. There are many here that do not use facebook that could have been given you some very helpful feedback and advice. There was a member here called Anti-Matter who pretty much did the same thing because he wanted to move everything to his own self promoting website. Fan editing should never be done for glory. It should always be a personal thing and if it receives attention then that should always be just an added bonus, and never the thing that drives you.

But like I said, it is already miles better than the SE and it would be quite fine if it stayed the way it is in the clip.
I overlayed the panels /head from the GOUT for R2, because the panels were unusable from the SE. I'm still going to try working on them, but if i can't improve them then i will keep them as they are now

What? His panels are horrendous in the SE. They are just blocks of colour that aren't even rotoscoped properly and are all over the place.

Thats ok ;).I didn't add a dramatic one as it is hitting water and not land, so wouldn't be so harsh. I have also given the same treatment to the shot when Luke crashes his speeder

When was the last time they broadcast the 1997 versions, didn't ady say they did sometime ago in the UK, they showed one of the three films in SD from 1997 and the other 2 in HD from 2004. I am not sure but i think it was ROTJ.
There are a few DVB transfers of these seems like. What ones are there, reivax, flunk, TB, and gkar. And not complete sets for all.
Reivax and Flunk are just episode IV i believe.
Not sure which is the Canal+ broadcasts maybe the TB.
The reivax is better than the LD but some scenes are a little too dark, like the scene where Owen talks to threepio at the droid auction.
Is there a copy of that '97 RoTJ floating around? Did anyone record it, or do we only know of it?
They broadcast episodes 4 & 5 1997 SE version on ITV1 a couple of years ago but they switched to the 2004 version of ROTJ because ITV HD had just started and they wanted to show it in HD. The 1997 versions were cropped though to 16:9 to fill the screen so weren't really any good to archive.
That is in the original and , unless i replaced the whole background asteroid, which couldn't be done, there was no way to get rid of the matte. You can't even rotoscope the asteroid and make it larger so it would cover the original & eliminate the matte because of the falcons cockpit window.
I haven't started on the canyon shot yet because i am building a new canyon, so everything will be different in that scene, which is why i didn't bother to alter the colouring from my ESB 97 AVCHD version

You know I hate suggesting this but it might aid the transition of Luke from Hoth to Dagobah if we saw a glimpse of the Hoth through the cockpit window as he leaves (in the way you added Yavin in ANH:R).
Naturally it would have to match the tilt and speed of the ship but adding a already small but receding planet behind Artoo might (just might) work.
Though as always I am aware how late in the day it is to post suggestions but this is the first time I've seen this version of the footage.
I actually thought about doing something like this ages ago but i realized that you wouldn't see Hoth through the rear cockpit window. If you notice the angle at which it leaves Hoth, then the following shot it turns to the left, so the planet would be to the right and offscreen during the first cockpit shot

Ok, i've just seen a video and i'm pretty sure now that someone at lucasfilm is keeping a close eye on this project. Too many similarities between this clip from the Star Tours ride and the new transport scene in revisited:

Ion cannon positioned next to the hangar entrance, 2 transports taking off at the same time, blue ion cannon lasers. hmmmm. I guess now i'm going to get accused of stealing the idea from the Star Tours ride now.
Not sure why you think the depth of field is "sudden" because i certainly can't see that, and it is a gradual blur because that is how depth of field is set up.
The crawl actually fades out a few frames earlier than the original. i think you might be thinking of the prequel crawls as the fade out ridiculously early. And you can still see "the empire strikes back" at that point on the original too.
But i'm not trying to recreate the original crawl because there are so many differences in the crawls with each movie. You can just how bad it is here:
This is a new crawl that can be made consistent with all the revisited movies. I don't care if it doesn't match the original perfectly because that is not what i was going for.
I've double checked the original file i uploaded and there is no glitches in it like has been reported and the same file was used for the facebook upload and it doesn't appear there. the only thing i can think of is something got corrupt somewhere down the line. You can clearly see that its a video playback glitch

Unfortunately no. I would have to slow down and speed up the crawl in sections to synch each paragraph to the cues because, since the episode number and title was added to the crawls , there is just no way of doing this without the speed changes
