STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW
Time

I totally forgot the main reason i came in here in the first place. lol. I posted this earlier over in the facebook group:

OK, i have come to a major decision regarding the prequels. I will be approaching these in a completely different way to how i am with the OT. I have decided that, instead of concentrating on one movie at a time, that ALL THREE will be done simultaneously. Madness, i hear you all cry. Well, yes it is pretty insane but it's actually a pretty logical move.

Now the prequels aren't going to be like the OT:Revisited saga. With the OT it has only been minor editing changes (well part from ROTJ:R) but the PT really need a major overhaul. A LOT of editing will be done. Now working on all three will really help with this. Say, for instance, that i have an idea of how the story flows in TPM that will later affect something in say ROTS then, if i finish that one first only to find that i can't pull it off when i get to ROTS, i will hit a huge stumbling block and the whole trilogy would fall apart. This way i can make sure that this doesn't happen as i will be able to try the changes out in the later films as i work on the first. Plus, as many of the locations are featured in all three films, and miniatures i need to build can be all filmed and used for each movie without the chance that these will either get damaged or that i won't have the room to store everything. And another thing, i will most likely need to film extra scenes/ inserts and if i needed someone for a character in TPM and then later in AOTC/ ROTS there is the chance that this person/ persons wouldn't be available and could put a stop me being able to finish what i started.

So there you go. Complete and utter madness and a huge workload but this can be done and is really the only possible way i can accomplish what i want to do with the prequels.

All in all, Empire should not have taken this long considering it needs the least amount of work done to it. Im all about coming close to perfecting these movies, but honestly, when the trailer came out, it seemed like this movie was going to be done shortly after the trailer release. And now we are all thinking of silly ways into delaying the release of the movie that really needs some fun, and difficult work done to it.

Well i'm really sorry that these "silly ways to delay the release" was down to my personal health issues, caring every day for over 2 years for my sick Mum and then losing her early last year followed almost immediately by my dad discovering he had cancer and i continued to care for him every day until we lost him a couple of months ago.And now it's the battle i have with my brother who turned into a huge ass since Dad died and wants everything his way. And also now because my ass of a brother has demanded a sale of dads house, i'm having to reorganise where the hell i am going to film and store all these miniatures and the Wampa cave set, which was all to be done at Dads.

The breath video was just a test to see if it could be done and how long it would take to do and if i liked the look of it, which i don't. I stated a long time ago that i would be taking time out from this edit so doing these few things were more of a distraction for me. Most people that have gone through what i have gone through since starting this edit would have given up a long time ago and, to be honest after seeing so many comments around the net complaining how long its taking me, i really wish i had.

I'm aiming for a May 2012 release date. I just need this break away from full on working on this edit or i will just go insane. All i want to do is build the miniatures in my spare time and then film them once ready. I will not be touching any effects, editing or composite work until all these are done and filmed. Last thing i want at the moment is to be stuck at the PC 24/7 like i was before all this happened.

I know these little changes are making all of you happy, but i dont think any of you realize what kind of potential you all have into getting some serious recognition and attention.

I don't do these edits for recognition or attention. They are just something i wanted to do and share with everyone.

(I realize that there are threads and stuff for the PT and ROTJ, but i guess this ramble is mainly talking to adywan).

Just a ramble i felt i had to give. Dont hate me everyone!!

Sometimes personal things get in the way of these edits and reading a little way back in this thread would have given you all the answers as to why this is really getting delayed. But we don't hate you ;)

That is certainly not blowing about in the wind. That is the three legged version and those things are pretty heavy, even if it didn't have the mechanics in it. For the wind to move something like that then it would have been strong enough to blow Alec's wig off and you can see that the wind isn't very strong at all. More likely that it's a crew member moving the R2 unit to give it the wobble effect that kenny gave the two legged version

Will the Blu-Ray's increased gamma fix at least this issue?

And, yes Frink, I'll be haunted by it still too.

No, a plain gamma increase won't fix this but only make the Emperors slug look even more prominent. This snapshot has had the gamma changed to match the screencaps on the official SW Blu-Ray site. Looks even more shit now.

I'd say we are going to find out a lot earlier than Sept 16th. These things are going to leak early, just like the 2004 DVDs did.

What makes me laugh is that you kenkraly, along with the other Lucas worshippers over at Blu-Ray.com slated me and others who pointed out the 2004 glitch on the blu-ray preview at comic con along with things from the official screenshots pointing to these being the same old 2004 transfer, saying that we were pathetic for using a video taken of a screen (even though we even used screenshots DIRECT from the original source video). You all said that how the hell can we tell anything from these videos and that we know nothing. But now, all of a sudden since the new 360p youtube video was posted, taken from a camcorder with no direct footage, you are all saying how good the blu-rays look. Here are a few direct quotes:

shelldweller:
From what you can tell by that the footage of the Blu-Ray looks amazing again... really no reason to complain by now.

kenkraly2004:
Agreed no reason to complain by any means. Looking forward to September 16th for sure.

Beast:
All the footage they keep showing in these videos look great. I'm actually astonished how good some of it looks.

georgec:
Agree with everyone that the footage in the video earmullet posted looks pretty solid.

Can't you see the hypocrisy here?

The thing is you slate this site and the members here over at the blu-ray site, constantly tell anyone who dares question the great god george to shut up and that they can't call themselves a true star wars fan, amongst other things, then come back here and act all apologetic as if no one here would have seen any of this crap. You need to take a step back and really see what you are doing.

Looking at these four images I have to say that I think, even if it's the 2004 source, that they have definitely altered/tweaked/messed with the copy quite a bit for the blu-ray release.

Vader's lightsaber is MUCH different in the direct capture for the blu-ray than in either the 2004 or the Original Version.

The Original Version has a fat blade with a red/orange tint to it while the 2004 version is a fat PINK blade. The blu-ray versions is a MUCH thinner blade that has clearly been altered and appears to have a "redder" tint to it than the '04 version.

Welcome shandy706. The reason why the blade looks different on the Blu-Ray image is because it is in fact a different frame (plus the gamma change ). Look at all the other frames on vaders cloak and there is a small section that sticks out towards the bottom of the cloak. And because the blade pulsates, the thickness of the glow changes from frame to frame

Blu-Ray deleted scenes:

Shame they couldn't have spent a bit of work and cleaned them up

Oh great, the always insightful JT34 is back. Looks like his senility has finally got worse because he is down to a few words sentence now. But why even bother posting on a site where you have blocked almost every member? Looks like he is upset with Blu-Rays because they are much smaller than his Laserdiscs and he has problems finding them with his old eyes. Idiot

Well, no, I'm totally useless with audio. But the mono mix is there.

But I think it would be a nice idea (as someone here already suggested) if one of the sound guys made a nice 5.1 mix that would have all the mono mix sound choices. But I'm definitely not the right guy to attempt something like that.

Harmy, my ANH:Revisited 5.1 track has most of the mono mix dialogue, so that might be useful for you. I don;t think any sound effects were added in the places these lines were replaced

Some close up screen shots of the Blu ray demo:

http://www.zonadvd.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=30596

They're totally fake. They supposed to have been taken at the London preview on 14th July. Now for one the TV is fixed to the wall, whereas the TV at the preview was on a stand which was well away from any wall. Then there is the fact that no one at the preview were allowed to get close to the TV to take any pictures. They're Just pictures someone has taken while playing either the 2004 DVDs or the HDTV broadcast. And the text just seems to be a reworded copy from another site. here it is translated:

During the Digital Entertainment Group Europe event, held at the Disney offices in England last night of July 14th, 20th Century Fox showed to the media present clips of about 30 seconds duration from the Blu-ray editions of the Star wars movies.

Not much was seen and due to the exclusivity, taking pictures or videos from the screen was also not allowed, but at least it served to get a first impression about the quality of picture and sound that you'll be able to enjoy. The first two clips were from Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (with Yoda and Clone soldiers flying over the battlefield during the Battle of Geonosis), and the one of Obi-Wan Kenobi vs. Anakin Skywalker fighting at the end of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. Obviously, since both movies were filmed and digitally stored, they looked absolutely perfect - making the most of the 1080p resolution of Blu-ray. They have never looked so good before, not even in HD TV broadcasts or in theaters themselves.

But the surprise arrived with the clip from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope. It was the opening sequence of the special edition of the film (when the Star Destroyer catches Princess Leia's ship), the moment when C-3PO shows for the first time in 1080 is impressive. The sparkles from the golden parts of his body with so much detail and shine made you think that the film was made this year instead of 34 years ago. Little else was seen and even though the material displayed was so little, everything suggests that Lucasfilm has done an impressive job with the high definition transfer.

Remember that on September 14 for the first time the complete saga of Star Wars on Blu-ray will be available and that will be the moment to confirm if first impressions are true. The pre-orders have been going on with great success for months.

Oh, and great covers coov :)

Well i got a reply from the person who was at the Blu-Ray preview at the Disney offices and it does look like we are getting the same old crappy transfers done for the 2004 DVD set:

As I was also at the launch of the Original Trilogy DVD box set, and spoke to Lowry Digital, who made the digital masters, it is my belief that the Blu-rays are created from the same masters as the DVDs. However, Lowry Digital originally created either 4k2k or 8k4k masters at the time (my memory is a little vague) not 1080p ones. And I believe it is these that have been used as the basis for the new BD transfers. Certainly, they are considerably better than either the DVD versions or 1080i TV broadcasts.

So only people who have these Apple products are going to be able to get these previews? Why couldn't they have created this app for Android users too? Lucasfilm really does like catering for only a select group of fans

Harmy's RETURN OF THE JEDI Despecialized Edition HD - V3.1
Time

Harmy, I take it that you are using footage sourced from the NTSC version of the GOUT. Well for some reason the PAL GOUT ROTJ uses a different master and has a bit more detail than the NTSC version so it may be worth using the PAL version for this scene. I also noticed that there is a small SE change still in that clip. When Leia and Chewie enters and the guy is knocked to the floor, you could originally see the actors neck pop out from underneath the mask, but in the SE they blacked this out
