Aalenfae's PREQUEL TRILOGY (Heavily delayed - computer exploded)

I am now working on the Obi-Wan vs. Anakin duel.

Does anybody know where to get (relatively) cheap, but accurate Obi-Wan and Anakin costumes? I'd really rather not pay tons of money, and the current footage won't cut it for an epic duel.

On a similar note, I need affordable Clone Trooper costumes, and most importantly a Commander Cody.

I don't know about getting clone trooper costumes but this ebay site has some really good costumes that are pretty cheap.

True. While Matt Wood says his voice is in all 6 movies, no one has found him in any of them so far, as far as I know.

I thought I read somewhere that Matt Wood and another person helped voice Obi-Wan's new scream in ANH.  Anyone else remember this?

People may not want to hear it, but I believe the "other person" is Ben Burtt.

No, according to the "sounds of Star Wars" book, where the new howl was first heard it was Matt Wood and Dave Acord. Here's what it says;

An interim crow sound was first tried before Burtt arrived and recorded Wood and Acord in the parking lot behind the Tech Building. "He sourced it from Dave and me yelling," Wood says, " We screamed and screamed. I was trying to model mine off this terrible cheesy element that i love from a Disneyland ride, The Haunted Mansion: ah, ah, ahooooaah!"

So he knew that it was a "terrible cheesy" sound and he still thought it was a good idea for the howl. Enough said.

Progress report:

The shield generator parts are now all finished and ready to cast. Work has started on the Dagobah miniature set and while this is in progress i will be working on the snowspeeder model (a modified version of the kit i purchased off ebay cheap) replace a few background shots and also the full scale Han Solo in carbonite front section that will have the correct shirt and also the Asteroid canyon.

Need Help burning AVCHD or M2TS
Time

Is the file you downloaded a ISO file or is it just the folders?

You will need a free program called imgburn.

ISO: Open imgburn, select "write image file to disc", select the ISO file and burn to a DL DVD+R

Folders: Open imgburn, select "write files/ folders to disc",  import the folders (BDMV etc), change the UDF to 2.50 in the "options" tab, then burn to disc.

By the way, an actress in Jedi dubbed by a man? I'm very tired as I write this, so am I forgetting something really obvious?

That was during the final space battle, right?  One of the Rebel pilots?

yeh, its the a-wing pilot. you actually get to hear her true voice in the deleted scenes on the blu-ray, so i will probably be restoring her real voice for ROTJ:R

The lightsabers in the cave scene aren't animated differently for each frame. You have the same 3 frames repeated with the same animation effect for each of those frames. If the slow motion was a technical error then the lightsabres would have been animated differently in every frame to give the slow motion effect, but they aren't , so the way the slow motion happens with frames repeated is intentional and therefore i will not be doing anything to change this effect.

ESB:R will be a mixture of HDTV and Blu-Ray sources, with the Blu-Ray being the main source for the edit. I'm just completing transferring the color correction to the Blu-Ray and then I'll be reapplying the FX work to the sections that are using the new source.

Which blu-ray source are you using, the internet rips, or the retail?

I'm using the retail.

Listening to the archival interviews commentary track for ROTJ it is pretty funny what George Lucas says about the scene where Vader pick up the Emperor now that he has added Vader's Nooooooo's:

Acting with masks is a very ancient tradition. It's the emotion of the story that can carry you through and the nature of cinema that you can switch shots you put on either side of the mask that tell you what the mask is thinking.

So younger George knew that the audience didn't need to hear what he was thinking to understand the scene. I'm really surprised that this comment made it onto the Blu-Ray, unless adding the No's was a last minute decision when everything else was finished.
Wait, that wasn't the 2004 commentary? That's the old one?

Well according to the set-up menu of the Blu-Ray it is the archival commentary.

It's funny, there were three deleted scenes from the PT that I really wanted to see, one for each movie.

TPM: Obi Wan gets lectured for shorting out his lightsaber in the Naboo swamp. Always seemed like a good scene, nice to have some sorely missed master-student stuff.

AOTC: Padme in the Lars homestead and gives 3P0 his coverings/ alternate 3P0 intro. I'm glad in some ways this was cut because I feel like it could drag the pace, but this seemed like a really good character moment in a film that was awkward and cold.

ROTS: Original Anakin turns sequence. This could have blown people's minds! A solid 10-minutes or so of the core sequence of the film which plays out completely different, with 80% new footage. Why??

There's a lot of little scene extensions that I know they didn't include, like more dialogue between Anakin and Padme after he saves them from Sebulba and onboard the ship in AOTC dressed as refugees, because portions of them are in the outtakes. But they left out a lot of the more interesting scenes.

DAMN, all 3 of those sound pretty cool, are these available anywhere? or did you just read about them?

You do get some footage of the "bare" 3P0 in EP2 along with some footage of Padme giving him his coverings in the 3P0 suit 360 degree video commentary on disc 7:

Is there any chance that the Vader No and the Krayt dragon scream sound better on the final blu ray?  They just didn't sound integrated into the scene.  Perhaps the youtube video that was leaked wasn't what the final product would sound like?  I could tolerate those changes begrudgingly if they didn't sound so awful.

No, they still sound awful. They just don't sound like they belong there, especially the Vader No.. It's too prominent in the mix and doesn't blend in very well.

Someone on TFN said that Shmi's voice was added to Anakin's nightmare in Clones.  True?

yes, thats true. It really improves the scene too.

I was listening to this clip, and I don't really notice much of a difference.

http://www.dvdactive.com/misc/chris/sounds/articles/starwars/prequels/anakindreamnew.mp3

Did he just rip it wrong or something?

That isn't the version from the blu-rays.

This is the true Blu-Ray version:

Ady whats the quality like on the lost 20 scene for the prequels is it good enough to re-insert into Episode 2? There any other decent deleted scenes which could be put back in that weren't already known?

Not very good at all. In fact i can't see how any of the prequels deleted scenes could be used in an edit without a very noticable drop in quality. here is the lost 20 scene, although they never talk about anything apart from a brief bit about Dooku. In motion this scene looks 100 times worse
