The Empire Strikes Back is a "junk movie"

Don't blame Hayden Christensen for the bad acting, blame George Lucas, he wrote the script, Hay Chris just chose to go along with that!!!!!

Check out Jumper and factory Girl, two films he did just after the prequels. His acting is exactly the same level as it is in the prequels in both of those -awful. In fact it's so similar it is as if he is still playing Anakin Skwalker in both of those, except in one he uses a very dodgy accent. Good actors can still shine even with bad directing, but bad actors will still be bad no matter how good the director.

What exactly was stopping George from "handing off" the prequels???

Of course, folk who post on internet forums don't have an ego, do they? No, nary a whiff of ego round here...

I have an attitude but it isn't a bad one. If you think differently to this, don't be afraid t say so (it's much better to talk straight than hide behind snide remarks, I always find).

Didn't the wink at the end give you a clue that there was no snide intent to my post and was meant in jest?

You seem to be so paranoid that everyone is attacking you, you are coming across as having a bad attitude and the only snide comments seem to be coming from you.

I have no idea but walk down the aisle of your local HMV and tell me how big the Blu-ray section is in comparison to the DVD section.

Probably because HMV is a crap store. Most times when i have gone in there (my old local one) to get a blu-ray they haven't got it in stock. And the ones they do have, unless they are in one of their sales, are an extortionate price compared to elsewhere.

But i did notice before i moved that the DVD section had become tiny, while the blu-ray section had grown to about the same size as the DVD section. Don't forget, it was quite a few years before anywhere started stocking a good selection of DVDs when they first came out.

The Clone Wars: Season V
Time

Easterhay said:

If you deny the prequels (which is pretty outlandish, a bit like those three monkeys with their hands over their eyes, mouth and ears) then by extension you have to deny The Clone Wars - and, I imagine, anything else that doesn't meet your specific standards of what Star Wars is and should be (again, pretty outlandish).  Funny, though, how some will practically give themselves a hernia pointing out how "flawed" the more recent parts of the Star Wars story are while completely ignoring how your limb can be severed by a lightsabre and yet still bleed.  "Sigh" indeed.

I'd have to disagree with that. I think it's totally possible to completely disregard the PT, yet still be able to be a fan of the Clone Wars series. The Clone Wars series is superior to the PT in so many respects and many episodes have more in line with the OT than they do with the PT. In fact i think you could enjoy this series even if you have only watched the OT.

before i moved a friend came around to mine while i was watching the season 2 blu-rays. Now he was not a big Star Wars fan ( he once was). As he put it, he grew out of the movies around the time the SE's came out. He had never watched the prequels yet became engrossed in the Clone Wars. He was only popping around to drop off a DVD he was lending me, but stayed for a few hours. Now after this he wanted to watch the prequels, so i lent him the DVDs. Next day he came back and handed the discs to me and , in his words, said "Fuck me, those were shit. How the hell can you still be a fan after these?". Yet he still wanted to borrow all the seasons of the Clone Wars that i had because they felt more like the originals.

The Clone Wars, for me, attempts to tie in with the OT in a way that the PT just never did. The tech seems more "used" along with weathered ships, environments etc. The PT just seemed too clean, even after a war is supposed to be ravaging the galaxy. Plus you can actually care for these characters. They are fleshed out heel of a lot more than George even attempted in the PT. You can see why Obi-Wan called Anakin "a good friend", whereas in the prequels this was lacking.

But to say that someone is outlandish for denying the prequels and comparing them to the HNE,SNO,SNO monkeys has only made you sound like those you claim that jump on anyone who likes the prequels. ( It still surprises me that anyone is shocked at how many here dislike the prequels, even though the site is called originaltrilogy.com).

And people here DO see the flaws in the OT and pick them apart, it's just that there aren't as many in the OT as there are in the PT. At least the OT has good stories and not just flashy video game effects to try to hide the flaws in the storytelling. As GL once said " A special effect without a story is a pretty boring thing"

Take the twooffour Pledge (Pledge is Suspended - See Post #121) (At one time thread was about DOGS WEARING HATS)

I believe our twooffour mentioned once that he doesn't have kids. He also admitted to being a college freshman, FWIW (not that that was any big surprise).

You can never tell on a forum though. Take Angel, for instance; For a long time his posts weren't written in very good English. But suddenly a new member appeared, who wrote in perfect English, spouting all sorts of crap in the ESB:R thread and suddenly Angel was banned. I can't remember if the reasons why Angel was banned for this was made public, so i won't go into that, but to many it seemed like this person WAS Angel. He got unbanned claiming it wasn't him. Yet recently Angel reappeared in one of the threads demanding that 005 remove all his mock-ups from his site and had a bit of a rant about me and that he wouldn't be back here ( or something like that). But the funny thing was that he was now writing in perfect English, in the same  way the other account was posting which claimed not to be him. Strange that isn't it? I guess they were one and the same person all along.

So, just because someone you think could be a sock account mentions different details about their life, or has a slightly different writing style, doesn't necessarily mean that they are two different people.

And i'm not saying that Easterhay is twooffour, by the way, just giving something as an example.

Some pages only showing first few posts
Time

I have noticed today that some pages have not been loading correctly. This one for instance will only show up to post 16, even though it is showing that there are new posts. The page finishes loading but stops at post 16 and doesn't even show the quick reply box or anything else underneath;

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Michael-Arndt-heavily-involved-in-writing-the-new-SW-trilogy/topic/14848/

So it must be working for some. I am using Firefox, but i have also tried it on IE with the same results. The other pages i was having problems with seem to have sorted themselves out. I have cleared my cache but still no joy.

Is anyone else having the same problems or is it just me?

Where do you see Supershadow credited in this article at all? If this is a based on a treatment from George it is very possible he would want something like that...

I don't know about Express' reliability as I'm not from the UK so if it's a trash tabloid anyway just disregard my skepticism.

They, along with other uk newspapers,  used supershadow's so called "insider spoilers" when the prequels were being made, almost copying them word for word. Although they never named him it was pretty obvious to anyone who has ever read the supershadow crap. All they have done is trawl the internet for anything related to ep7, without checking proper sources before printing. The Express is pretty lame reporting nowadays.

Just seen this :

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/357610/Darth-Vader-to-be-resurrected

It looks like they are using Supershadow as a so called "insider mole"? So far he is the only person who is claiming that a clone of Vader will be making an appearance in the new films. Plus, it seems like he is taking credit for Episode 7 becoming a reality. You gotta love this guy. But it's scary that people really do seem to believe his crap.

I'm hoping that they completely disregard the EU when making the ST. Trying to have a good story that can follow on from ROTJ, while trying to have the EU as canon and having to stick to the plotlines etc that have come from them, would just be too constricting.

throw it all out and just have the continuity stick with what was in the movies only and we may have the chance of a good ST. Sure the EU fanboys will be up in arms about it, the same way as they have been about the Clone Wars series destroying part of the EU, but it's the only serious way a ST could be done especially if it has Luke, Leia and Han in it.

Not to judge or begrudge Adywan for the decisions he makes for his edits but it sure sounds like the Revisited Edits have been a burden on Adywan for quite some time and maybe he would welcome a letter from LF. I feel there are too many here that have the attitude that Adywan has to finish the edits, as if Adywan owes them something. A man can only take so much abuse until he call it quits. Just saying.

no, i don't look upon them as a burden of any kind. i do love doing them. As with everything you do for a long time, you do get a bit tired of it, but then something re-sparks my enthusiasm. If i ever felt like giving up completely then i would just stop, but that day hasn't come yet
