i really hate in the bluray version during the battle of hoth that the dish gun when it fires at the walkers leg just vanishes.it doesn't show the leg light up anymore to show it took some kind of damage.adywans version doesn't show this either.still hoping he puts that back in.
The flash is there in both the original (GOUT) and the blu-ray version. It's just that they recomposited the flash for the SE's so it looks a little different.
Wait a minute. How can you be banned in one post, but not in others?
So what exactly is this magical project? You want everyone else do the work and the only thing you will be doing is uploading it via torrent? So i guess you will be using your name in this torrent, right?

Adywan, as soon as we can get those clips/pictures to you we will. There are still a few more steps to go with them.
The screenshots wouldn't need to be from your finished version to show if the problems are with the official transfer or with the film itself. Screenshots from your raw untouched scan would easily show if the same problem exists on the theatrical prints. Plus posting these screenshots from your raw scan would also prove to those that are saying that you don''t even have the prints that you actually do
Thanks

What Krayt Dragon? I did not see or hear any in that scene ...
... In fact, I didn't see or hear any Krayt Dragon in the entire movie.
... or in any Star Wars movie whatsoever.
You mean apart from this one?
Anyone received a reply/ link from their PM yet?

The end result is better than it could have been definitely (some nice moments) but not much different from the OTT RTD finales.
dumb question: what do OTT and RTD stand for?
Over The Top and Russell T. Davies

It won't be playing theaters in the U.S. until Monday. Two showings are already sold out in my little town.
It was showing on the 2 biggest screens here and both were completely sold out. Something like that hasn't happened in a very long time.
Anyone who said that it wouldn't be worth watching it at the cinema when its going to be on TV really missed out on a great experience. The whole atmosphere in the cinema was amazing. Last time i experienced something like that was back in 1983 for ROTJ (the atmosphere when seeing the prequels quickly faded as the movies progressed). The cinema went completely nuts during the final sequences (not going to give any spoilers but those who have watched it will know which two scenes this happened in). There were two shorts before the film (yes i will call it a film because that is exactly what it felt like, not an episode/ special) that weren't shown on TV and probably won't be making it to the DVD/ Blu-Ray because they were cinema viewing specific.
All in all i absolutely loved it. But it does bring up one hell of a huge plot hole that really can't be explained (again a spoiler so will wait until a few days before discussing it but anyone who has seen it should have figured it out)
I bet the BBC aren't happy with Tom Baker ;) (contains a big spoiler)

There is something that i have been meaning to ask, but it seems you don't have a thread specifically for ROTJ, so i will ask here.
There is a section on ROTJ that is out of focus on the HDTV & Blu-Ray versions. As you have a print of ROTJ i'm hoping you can check this section and post some screenshots that can settle an ongoing argument. From the point of the shuttle reaching Endor and giving the code right up until the beginning of the speeder bike chase ther difference is sharpness is terrible. there seems to be some sort of horizontal smearing. The worse shot that really shows this problem off is the shot below. If you could just post a hi-res screengrab off your scan of this one shot then it would prove one way or another iif there was a huge problem with the official ROTJ transfer
and here is a comparison between 2 shots inside the shuttle of Han that also shows the difference between two sections of the film

They've done it like a million times from way back in the days of The Crow and up through Tron: Legacy: taking a current star (or actor/stunt double/etc.) and superimposing another (and sometimes younger) face on them. Even Episode I had Ewan McGregor and Liam Neeson's faces superimposed over their stunt doubles for a couple of shots. I'm sorry, but they can totally do it.
being able to do it and being able to do it convincingly are two completely different things. The Crow was just a few brief straight on shots. All the head replacements/ digital doubles in the prequels looked terrible. The Jeff Bridges digital younger self still suffered with the "uncanny valley" problem that plagues CG human creations. They still can't do it convincingly to this day.
New clip.....

I guess i need to post this again:
You know that these were quick and dirty captures, with a lot of problems and they are not very good quality. There isn't much point in providing a download link when the quality wouldn't be very different from a youtube download anyway. Once the proper captures are done then a full quality download link will be provided for everyone.
Actually i have known these guys for quite a while. But i will look into what happened. All i saw was that comment so i couldn't understand why you thought it was being pissy. We've had a few people over there recently starting all sorts of crap about the watermarks on the videos, constant threats to get disney/ lucasfilm to shut us down etc unless we release the whole footage NOW and in the best quality, so tempers seem to be getting a little frayed . There has also been one guy who has been causing a lot of crap, and it looks like he is getting his friends involved after we banned him and constantly arguing about what we are doing, so it may be a case of thinking you were connected in some way to him. So Sorry if i jumped to conclusions. I'll get this sorted

So the fool who made the facebook page is pissy because I asked for an actual download link instead of a crappy youtube link.
Anyone else want one? Clearly he's not someone who cares about actual quality.
what is with the attitude? You know that these were quick and dirty captures, with a lot of problems and they are not very good quality. There isn't much point in providing a download link when the quality wouldn't be very different from a youtube download anyway. Once the proper captures are done then a full quality download link will be provided for everyone. Calling someone a fool just because you seem to have a problem with them is a bit childish isn't it? But i can't see any pissy comments from the admins on the page at all. In fact this is the only reply that has been given to someone who asked for a download link on the thread about the full footage being added to youtube:
"You can down the 1080p flv from YouTube directly. I have checked it against my original source and there is no real difference. It's not like the original is HD anyway. I've done my part now"
I certainly wouldn't call that "getting pissy"
Sorry for snapping the way I did. Its just that we've been having to deal with a lot of people on the facebook page constantly complaining about the quality, the fact that we've watermarked the video, that we're only posting the videos in chunks, that we're not uploading them to youtube or that they demand that we post them elsewhere because they cant view them on their mac. We've even bern flooded with people threatening to report us to disney and lucasfilm to get us shut down. Its rediculous.
Now the disc was unplayable when we got it. It was scratched yo death, even though the ebay listing stated that there were only some minor surface scratches and plays perfectly. We could have sent it straight back to the seller for a refund, after all $700 is a lot of money to waste. But this would have probably meant that this could have gone back into obscurity. So we took a chance because we wanted to share this.

Ah, yes, good point.
I suppose I meant - will someone be sharing a complete capture of this on a popular torrent site that we sometimes use to share stuff that we own the rights to?
I doubt it. The owner of the LD seems to be more concerned with the "glory" of it than anything else.
FFS. We make a quick dirty capture just so we could get this footage out there as soon as possible so that it could reach a wide audience before we spend more time and money to capture this thing in the highest quality to share, and now we get accused of glory hunting? Next time we find anything like this maybe we should keep it to ourselves like so many other collectors would do.
Apology accepted

Well that was supposed to happen in 2009 and 2013 is already almost over. A strong part of me thinks it's never coming out. He's just going to keep tweaking and tweaking and tweaking stuff that is *almost* noticeable until the day he dies.
No offense, Adywan does great work, but this is just excessive and unnecessary in my opinion. Maybe when it comes out I will share it with my grandchildren.
It's posts like this that makes me want to just take my damn time just to piss a certain number of people off. I do apologise for not working on this 24/7 until i collapse. i'm sorry for not being able to work fully on this project while i looked after my sick parents full time and then deal with their subsequent deaths. I'm sorry that i want to have a life outside of Star Wars and all the things that come with actually having a life, like all the legal things that come with dealing with my parents estate and then moving from a tiny flat to a larger house so i would not only have more space to be able to work on these edits but also to have a better life. I hope you have fun sharing it with your grandchildren when i decide to finish it in 2025. And it always makes me laugh when someone puts "no offence" at the beginning of a post, because you just know what is coming.
But in all seriousness, i have probably only been working on these edits for the same amount of time that i did on ANH:R. There is not much left to do. But i am not a studio, i do not have the facilities or resources of a studio, so things take time.
EDIT: I was typing this up before your post appeared, Possessed. Your post did come across as insulting, especially when you felt the need to add the sacrastic line at the end about being able to share it with your grandchildren as a not so subtle dig at the time it is taking for me to finish this edit.
What happened to all the stars? Is that due to a problem with the method of capturing the print?
the video has been taken down :(

The episode numbers were on the OT. They began doing it when Star Wars was re-released right before The Empire Strikes Back came out. I was there, I still remember all the WTFs rumbling throughout the theater when Episode 4 came up.
The "Episode IV" title wasn't added until the 1981 re-release, a year after Empire was released.

wether this is in the making of book I don't know but it's the first time I have seen this
I guess they were meant to be a fair match for these MTV-7 which also never made it in the film
That is just one of the toys that was released. It wasn't designed for the film:
