STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

those type of flashes appear throughout the battle. They also happen during the space scenes too in ANH when the stardestroyer is firing on the falcon. They have nothing to do with hitting shields or anything like that. It's supposed to represent something like air flak during a battle, but from lasers. It's just a visual thing. There is nothing wrong with the blast happening above the AT-AT

But something seems off about the waist area of that 3PO costume (though the rest of it looks excellent). Too long? Anyone else notice?

It's just the costume slipped down a bit by the looks of things. Here are some other photos of Simon in the costume, and you can see there is nothing wrong with the length of the waist area

plus the original 3p0 costumes waist altered length all the time throughout the films.

How's that big-ass computer monitor working for you, Ady?

:)

It's still working great, thanks Jacen :)

Today i filmed the very last shot for the speeder flaps. Had some disasters along the way ( the paint deciding to react with the under-painting and bubble up all of a sudden on the 5 paint job, where it has been fine for the 4 previous ones, for example), but it pretty much went a lot smoother than it could have gone. The very final shot was for Wedge's screen right speeder flap. The final shot became the only one that didn't need a second or third take. I got it in one. Now to stick it into the composite and get the last few shots for this section completed............

And here is a short clip of the flaps in action.....

Jedi 30th Ann. screening at Pixar...of the original version!
Time

http://www.princecharlescinema.com/events/events.php?seasonanchor=jedi

This was supposed to have been a showing of the unaltered version but ended up being a digital showing of the blu-ray instead. How can you have it as a 30th anniversary with a version that is a year old? And no mention in the advertisment that is was NOT going to be the original and even attaching the original trailer for it. Bit of false advertising. But rumours of Disney getting the originals cleaned up and ready do seem to be getting a little more weight with this Pixar story. And i'm certain that Phil would know the difference between the original and the altered versions. Fingers crossed.

Even if he can be an arsehole at times, you still have to admit:

(1) he has talent

(2) he has some interesting ideas.  The recoloring of the Falcon to match it's look in EMPIRE?  I think that's pretty awesome.  Same thing with tilting Tatooine in the opening shot to match all subsequent shots (or flattening Tatooine in the following shots to have continuity), and while I could go either way on a lot of the color timing alterations, he still has some really good ideas on spatial composition.

I'd never say that this guy isn't talented. I think his talent is amazing. It's just that we have such completely different views towards Star Wars and i just don't like the direction his colour correction is going, but that's just my personal opinion.  This is why it would have been impossible to work with him on an edit because we have such different styles.

Sorry for the question, but has adywan already started working on the HD version of ANH? I found this http://aggeiw.deviantart.com/gallery/ . Is this some sort of leaked images from the upcoming edit?

No, i haven't started work on ANH:R HD yet.

That is Angel's Deviantart gallery. Looking at those new colour correction shots, he certainly does like his blues. lol. He does have a very different idea of what Star Wars should look like. I have to say i really don't like that colour correction, especially the sandcrawler scenes.

If I distribute copies of this edit through Blu-ray/DVD discs in cases, could I sell them for the cost of the disc(s), Blu-ray case, and cost of shipping? Would it also be Ok for me to throw in a few additional bucks for the cost of labor?

 No, and hell no.

http://originaltrilogy.com/forum/topic.cfm/Fan-edit-preservation-forum-rules-and-FAQ/forum/18/topic/5950/

Read it all.

Why should I be punished financially for distributing something that Lucasfilm should have done a long time ago for the cost of the DVDs and Blu-rays? We paid full price for half-ass releases of the movies.

I may just have to go against your word on distribution of these. There are many people who I know that would like this edit, but do not have Blu-ray burners, blank Blu-ray cases & discs, and do not know/are not interested in purchasing them and downloading and burning these edits themselves.

What are the penalties if caught distributing these for the cost of producing them on physical media, shipping, plus a few additional dollars for labor? I see people selling fan edits on amazon and ebay all the time. I have emailed some of them and some responded claiming it is legitimate if you just sell them for the cost of the physical media, shipping, and a few additional dollars for labor of making them. I found out that it may still be illegal and I emailed them back telling them that, and only one responded saying "they will take it under advisement."

One of them didn't outright say this, but gave me the impression that now that Star Wars is under ownership of Disney, it is legal to do so now. That is bullshit, correct?

You want to make a few additional dollars for the labour of making them. Go fuck yourself asshole. I do this for fucking free, not to have some fucking wanker like yourself making a profit out of all the work i, and others, have put into all of this. You want to share it, fine. But don't have the fucking nerve to try and make any money from them. Those scum bags selling other peoples fan edits/ preservations on ebay etc need shooting. They are dicks of the highest order. Crap like that jeopardizes everything we do. Studios start to see more and more people making money of stuff like this and they'll just come after the people that are making the fan edits. So fucking think before you want to make some money, when we are doing it all for free.

I know my words and language are harsh, and i apologise to everyone else. But people like this make me sick. It goes against everything i do these edits for. But when i see people wanting to make profit of work people are doing for free, then it gets my blood boiling. People like this and that fucking wanker OCPmovie, or to give him his proper name, garrett gilchrist, think it is acceptable to sell other peoples edits, then they can go fuck themselves. I don't want to do all of this work and then have the studios come after me and shut me down, wasting years of my life working on this edit, because of some dick that decides its ok to make money off it.

STAR WARS: EP V &quot;REVISITED EDITION&quot;<strong>ADYWAN</strong> - <strong>12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW</strong>
Time

Well Christmas is almost upon us.

The bulbs i ordered were finally delivered yesterday, a week after their estimated delivery date. This has caused all sorts of problems. With the canyon filling up the dining room, i need to get this filmed and out of the way by the weekend at the latest, which is when i will be halting everything until after the holidays. This means there is no way it is going to get a 2013 release. So this next 2 days will be a race to get filming on certain elements finished and out of the way. These include the canyon, the shield generator model and the speeder flaps. but once the canyon is complete and dismantled, filming the other two should easily be done in a day. I'm assembling the canyon right now, adding the finishing touches and doing some test runs.

In the New Year i shall be starting the Wampa and finishing off the carbonite model. While i am doing this i will also be able to finish the 2 hangar models. So it will be a mad rush to the finish. There are about 10-15 shots left that need effects added, not counting the shots that require the models/ miniatures, but these can be completed very quickly once filming is finished.

I did try my hardest to get this edit finished for the end of the year, but you can't control outside forces. with the delay of being able to get the carbonite prop and the bulbs etc this put me back about 3 months. So i would now say that we are looking at a February/ March release.

Anyway, here is the almost completed canyon model. This isn't the filming lighting but just a quick snapshot with household lighting.

Didn't they alter the sounds he makes in the special edition? I can't access the theatrical cuts right now but i'm pretty sure they were different ( i think they removed the one where he fell off the platform and just repeated the other for the SE's). And as the audio will be based upon the theatrical versions anyway, i don't see a problem.

Have you considered simply uploading your vids to a hosting service? Since it's mostly extracts and comparison shots I doubt it would violate any of their copyrights law and that way we wouldn't have to deal with Youtube crappy compression, crappy bandwith (yes on some countries, watching a HD video from YT is like downloading with a 56k modem) and crappy copyright policies... Simply put no one would have to put up with Youtube's crap ?

I did use to upload all the clips to places like hotfile, rapidshare, megaupload etc, but you would always get some asshole reporting the files for copyright. I knew it wasn't the hosts recognition software because i started zipping the files and passwording them and they were still getting deleted. I always get someone threatening to report what i'm doing to Lucasfilm, and more recently Disney, so stuff like this is to be expected with assholes like that. They would even smugly comment how they had got it deleted. Bloody Lucas worshippers. ;) And i am certainly not going to only supply the password via private messaging when i get thousands of hits on the videos.

@ImpFighter- What's been done to this shot to improve it? I don't remember a discussion or vid clip of that. (I'm not doubting you at all, I just don't remember)

here is a pretty old clip that shows some of the tweaking done to that shot:

http://youtu.be/p2KztwIScY8?t=4m30s

Youtube is seriously getting ridiculous with its copyright claims now. It's blocked most of my videos but with the above one they have muted the audio due to matched content:

Since when was the bloody Cantina music in the ESB asteroid chase? It just shows how screwed up their recognition software truly is.

in that clip you provided there is no flash on the leg after it gets hit.the version i seen from vhs has the flash.also adywan says the bluray version and his version has it but i watched his comparison video that shows his next to the bluray version and neither one shows the flash like he says it does.the original had the flash on the leg.

The flash is there. Like i said before it has just been re-composited for the SE's, but it IS there and it lasts for the same number of frames. From left to right; Original (same as your VHS), Blu-Ray & Revisited:

But i hate it when people password usenet uploads. It's a trend that has been going for a few years now. What is the point of it apart from getting people to sign up to their forums? Usenet was better when people wanted to share with everyone, not just a select few.

That guy who did that thing wasn't named because no one involved in the production thought it was important. I agree with them.

Yeah, I remember hearing Boba Feet's actor (can't remember his name) say that the only concern they had about the character is whether or not the actor would fit in the costume.

oh that scene. lol. oh well, that will teach me to join the argument when i'm ill.

But i do think that the film works better without him being named.

To all the people who are insisting Boba Fett was never meant to be named, one of the deleted scenes from ESB was Luke being tended to by Leia and her referring to  Boba Fett by name, a scene that was more likely cut because it interrupted the flow of action in the finale than because it named this apparently nameless bounty hunter that every one on this site knows by name, and yet insists that he's supposed to be nameless. This is my issue, he's obviously supposed to have a name, but the movie simply forgot to say it. No, it dosen't matter what the name of some extra who only has one scene and does one thing is, but it does matter when a guy who is named in literally every single appereance of his, every time he's mentioned, except ESB. That's like trying to make Darth Maul nameless when everyone knows his name already, it's just pointless. Even when the Man with No Name IS named in the movies he appears in, everyone still just calls him the man with no name. The truth couldn't be more opposite with Boba Fett; the movie neglects to name him, and yet everyone knows who he is. The fact that they didn't name him feels more like a hiccup than an intentional story decision.

There was no mention of Boba Fett in any of the deleted scenes in the medical bay. Jabba was the only one mentioned. I don't know where you got this one from but you are completely mistaken.

Are these images taken direct from your source files or have you just taken them from your heavily compressed preview video? If you are taking them from your preview video then surely it would be better to show off how the print looks against posting screenshots that are from heavily compressed video. The first picture of the troopers looks terrible and would give anyone interested in this project completely the wrong impression.
