STAR WARS: EP IV 2004 REVISITED ADYWAN *1080p HD VERSION NOW IN PRODUCTION

Have you set your HD-DVD players to 24fps output? I just did a search on the model numbers of the players mentioned and there seems to be a problem with those players playing certain DVD's if it is set to 24fps output. try setting the output to 1080/60 and see if that works. i also saw some threads that mentioned the A30 & A20 have some audio issues that can cause some DVD's and HD-DVDs to freeze during playback. This does sound like the problem you are having

Unfortunately there just wasn't any room to put the covers on the disc. i'll be keeping those for the DVD-9 version. Plus my official cover will be revealed the day before the DVD-9 is ready. I'd still like to figure out the problem the HD-DVD players are having with the movie though. Was it the NTSC versions that were causing the problems? And has anyone had any problems in other players? I'd like to get this issue resolved for the DVD-9

There is no need to do any type of encoding when burning the DVD. The DVD comes as an iso file. all you have to do is open the iso file using nero or any other burning software and then burn the dvd. It is only best to burn at a slow speed when using cheap media, but when using good quality media it is best to burn at the rated speed.

Sorry that you are having problems playing the DVD in your HD-DVD players. I don't know what make those players are but if its Toshiba then i can understand the problem. i had a Toshiba DVD player that was very picky on not only media but also the bitrates during playback. the NTSC DVD-5 has a lower bitrate on the menus and special features than its PAL counterpart. This was unavoidable or the NTSC version would have had only a couple of the special features that were featured on the PAL disc. But that doesn't explain why you are having problems playing the movie. But it seems to be HD-DVD players that are having this problem, and only certain models. I'm just glad i went with bluray

As a fix, do we just download the PAR2 files and unzip? I am not sure what is meant by the plenty of PAR2 files.

Par2 files are used to check and repair files downloaded from usenet. You will need quickpar first. you can download it for free here:
QUICKPAR

once you ahve downloaded the rar files and par2 files, open any one of the par2 files with Quickpar. it will then scan the files and report any damaged files. once the scan is complete just click on repair and it will then repair any damaged rar files. once this is done you can unpack the rar files the usual way.

Looking forward to seeing this - thanks Adywan!

Yeah, looks like I'm gonna have to go the torrent route for the PROPER release... there are dozens and dozens of missing parts on my server for this one, sadly.

Something happened with giganews when i was uploading last night and wouldn't let me connect for about half an hour. this caused some files to be incomplete. but there are only 7 incomplete files with the proper PAL & 8 with the NTSC. I will be posting plenty of PAR2 that will fix the incomplete ones.

Thanks Moth3r for looking into yenc powerpost for me. I've looked around for a solution and haven't come up with anything myself. When it comes to the DVD-9's i'll just be posting in a.b.starwars anyway.

Yencpowerpost is reporting reporting 21 hours left to upload, but thats because both versions are going up at once. So they will be both available within a hour or so of each other

Well at least there is some good news. With all these problems its now looking like the NTSC DVD-5 will be available tomorrow. I'll probably be posting both versions at the same time

Awesome, I will wait for the ntsc version then, BTW are you planning on adding a JACKET_P artwork for the DVD9 version??

I will possibly add one but space is going to be very tight

The fixed version is going up now. its crossposted again just so i can upload the fixed version to all the groups i posted to before. Sorry to all those who are having problems with their ISP's usenet not carrying the files but i was unable to change any settings so it would upload to a.b.starwars as the main one.

vbangle has just made me aware of a huge problem with the DVD. I've posted the wrong version. There are some problems with the version posted that causes the movie not to play when you go through the main menu and some of the subtitles are messed up. This was fixed last night but i stupidly posted the faulty version. I'm going to try and see if i can make a ppfomatic fix . if not then i will have to repost the whole thing. please do not post this version anywhere until i can see if i can do a fix.

I really feel like shooting myself because of this.

I don't know who provides your Usenet access - however I had the same problem going through my ISP's (Virgin Media) newsgroup access. But on checking through Astraweb - who I also use (pre-pay) and the files are there. It doesn't show up on Virgin Media because Ady posted to a.b.dvdr, and crossposted to a.b.starwars. Since the free service offered by VM doesn't carry the high traffic groups (a.b.dvdr being one of them) the posts were dropped.

@Ady: as a VirginMedia customer myself, I'd be grateful if, when you post the DVD9, you put a.b.starwars first in the group list.

How do i do that? i use yencpowerpost to upload to usenet and you can only select the groups you want to post it to and it orders them alphabetically. is there another program that i can use that i can set the group order manually?
