STAR WARS: EP V "REVISITED EDITION"ADYWAN - 12GB 1080p MP4 VERSION AVAILABLE NOW

I have to disagree also. The humour in the OT was great for the most part. 3PO's comedy worked perfectly well. Its the 3PO & humour we see in the PT thats the problem. Take the humour out of the OT and it takes away some of the magic IMHO. It became more childish, with a small hint of what was to come in the PT, but it still worked well. There will be no cuts (apart from some SE additions) to ESB at all in my edit. Like i have said before ESB, pre SE, is perfect the way it is. It will be mainly cosmetic changes i will be doing to this film.

You know, at least theres not hundreds of in-cockpit shots in this one to add backgrounds to. That was my biggest surprise when Ady sent me the Comparisons. I had no idea they were missing. Is Jedi that bad in that regard?

No, in Jedi the cockpit shots were filmed at closer range so you couldn't see out of the cockpits rear windows most of the time, plus i don't have to add that bloody middle strut to every Falcon cockpit window scene ever again.

I'm trying to imagine you standing there holding this huge canvas down on this tiny scanner, and tapping your foot while it takes forever to scan. Then you have to stitch it back together on your computer... Sounds like a fun project. :-P

Yeh i'm not looking forward to it much myself although my 9600dpi scanner is really fast but i've worked out that i will have to scan it in 10 separate sections and then stitch it together. But i'd rather do that than pay the extortionate fees i was quoted to get it professionally scanned around here.

Even though i probably won't be able to post the discs out until next weekend you should see the DVD-9's appearing on a.b.starwars in the next few days

Info & Ideas: ESB and ROTJ Wishlist

One thing i won't be doing is changing any colours of the Sabers in ROTJ. There were only ever 3 colours in the OT: Red, Blue & green. I hated the way that they added a purple lightsaber just because SLJ thought it would be cool that he would be the only one with a purple one. I've seen some videos on YOUTUBE that have all manor of colours for the sabers which just becomes a "change it because you can" scenario. There will be no other colour sabers in any of my revisited saga than we saw in the OT.

I really don't think the force ghosts need recolouring at all. I've always loved the way they looked. I'm just thankful that they never did add Qui-Gon's ghost to ROTS because knowing GL he would have changed the look completely, although i have noticed that they look a little more faded than they use to.

Well the painting is about 85% complete. problem is now that its so hot here at the moment that i can't work on it during the day because the paint dries way too quick, so that's slowed me down a lot. I'm hoping i can get it finished tonight then i can scan it. I'm not going down the photography route because the results just weren't good enough. Its going to be fun scanning it in on an A4 scanner though. :)

I probably won't be able to post the discs out this weekend because i don't get paid until the end of next week and i'm skint (just had to buy more paint.)

I still haven't had any offers for the PIF chain from anyone in the UK yet.

Burning Dual-Layer Discs For The First Time

I'd stay well clear of the later Pioneer models, especially the SATA ones like the DVR-215. It just refuses to burn dual layer discs, even with the latest firmware (i have 2 drives and both have the same problem). Failed to burn any, including verbatim, yet when i try the same discs in my external LG drive they burn with a 100% success rate. I would recommend the LG drives over the newer Pioneer ones anyday

That's weird. Not sure of the SATA models, but Dark Jedi recommended the Pioneer DVR115D to me, and I have never had better luck with a burner. It's light years beyond anything else that I've ever used.

The IDE models of the Pioneer drives have always been great for me but when i swapped to SATA they are nothing but problematic. It appears to be a problem with Pioneers firmware as a lot of people are having problems with their SATA drives, including their bluray ones, on different motherboards. Pioneer have said they are looking into it but the latest firmware didn't fix the issues. I'd say stick with IDE drives

Well the DVD-9's aren't going to be ready just yet, i'm afraid. But some good news is that i will be posting a few DVD-9's out this weekend.

What i need now is the people who contacted me a while ago with the offers of helping out with the PIF scheme , could you please PM me again because i just can't find the original PM's. Someone offered ages ago who had a DVD Duplicator but again i can't remember who that was, but i do have an idea. I basically need someone in the US, the UK and Australia to get the chain started that will be using high quality media (preferably Verbatim). These offers need to get to me by the weekend, if possible, so i can get them out.

Also next weekend they will be available via usenet and hopefully someone can begin torrents too

It's ok Ron. i knew you were making a joke. i just thought i'd better explain why i added the "sample" over the top of the picture just in case anyone asked

looking good. After 30 years that's the only time that Threepio has an obviously silver leg ;)

Its not that obvious on the painting. i think that reflection has caused it to stand out more than it actually does

Wow. That would suck. Who steals paintings online and sells them? Morons.

It happens a lot. i've set up copywrite on all my work no so i'm pretty much protected. I took the site who stole my pics to court but cuz they were American based our bloody court system didn't want to know. so i stopped painting for quite a few years because of it. this will be the first painting i've done in quite a while and god i'm rusty

Well things are going pretty smoothly at the moment. Not far to go with the painting now and the actual DVd structure is complete, so that is just waiting for the finished cover and it'll done. Hopefully the PAL will be available from May 4th (just had to pick that day) and the NTSC will be available straight after.

Here's another sneak peak at the painting:

Still not sure what route i'm going down to digitize the picture yet though.

Glad your screening went well Taolar. That line you mentioned has always been slightly out of sync as vbangle stated. If you listen carefully that line seems to be an overdub and is impossibly to sync up properly because the pacing is very slightly different than the on set recording. As for the following scene this has me baffled why some see it as out of sync but others don't. i've checked this so many times and i cannot see any sync issue. I've tried it on several players and still no problems so theres not much i can do about it.

Ady, when the painting is finished, how are you going to scan it? Do you know what you are going to use? The techno geek in me is curious.....

I'm going to go down the photography route. I have had a few paintings scanned in the past and the results haven't been that good. the problem with scanning a painting is that the scanner emphasises the brush strokes and highlights them. the best route i have always found is taking a photograph. You need a tripod and good lighting, preferably daylight, but not too strong that there will be any reflections on the painting so never use a flash. I always use the self timer function because this eliminates the risk of any blurring when taking the picture. You do need a good camera though.

I'm not letting the crap get to me at all. In fact i think its pretty funny just how sad some of them can be. They call me obsessed for all the fixes but become so hatred to any of the changes. They seem to be under the impression that i did the edit to replace the OUT, when in fact its only ever meant to have been a fun alternative to the SE. Guess they've mistaken me for GL. lol.

Well the painting is coming along. the bottom half of the painting is now complete and i'm hoping to have it finished by the end of the week. So the DVD-9's shouldn't be too far away now

Adywan, you shouldn't take crap from anybody.....maybe you could PM Moth3r with copies of the harassment emails and get these bastards banned....hopefully the mods here would support you in this way....

Well i haven't had any PM's they're just emailing me and are too chicken to say who they are. I don't actually think that they are all from this site though. the edit generated a lot of anger on other sites and my email address is easily available. I just ignore them because, after all, i have a life and they don't. :)

That sucks. It's hard to believe.

What program do you use to burn? Are you using a PC or Mac?

I always use ImgBurn on a PC. they also spit out some single layer discs too saying incompatible media (even though i only use either Verbatim or Tayo Yuden discs) but the same discs that were spit out by the pioneer burn without problems with my LG. The 2 SATA pioneer drives i have are useless (one has the latest firmware, the other the original version that it was shipped with). A few people have had problems with Pioneer SATA drives, but pioneer just say that its problems with system drivers being out of date, which my systems have all the latest drivers. Strange thing though is that the drive with the older firmware burns a lot better than the one with the latest firmware so my thoughts are that its nothing to do with system drivers but is instead to do with pioneers firmware. I just crossed flashed my one drive from a 215D to a 215 and funnily enough its started to burn dual layer, but is still too picky on media. My advise is to stay clear of SATA DVD drives. Never had a problem with any of the Pioneer IDE drives i've ever had, but i'm sticking with my LG drive.

Well not much has been happening on the DVD front this week. I've got a pretty bad chest infection which has stopped me from doing almost everything this week. I've only been able to work a few minutes per day on the DVD and also on the painting for the cover. I've got a few navigation errors to sort out in the DVD structure but that shouldn't take long. The menus now have a new font that closer matches the official DVD's (thanks to whoever suggested this, can't find the post right now so i can't remember who it was).
The cover is taking so long, a lot longer than i originally thought. But it is getting there. I decided to give you all a sneak peak at what its going to look like. It's nowhere near finished and i'd say there is probably another couple of weeks work left to do on the painting, but here's what it looks like so far: (plus hopefully this will stop the dick-heads that have emailed me saying that i'm bullshitting about doing a painting for the cover and that i'm just delaying the release to be a dick. losers.)

Yes, the pioneer burners are very good. I've used them since the 102 model. I know have a 111 and a 112 in my pc (and I previously had the 102, 104, 106, 110, 111 and 112. I have burned hundreds of single layer discs and close to a hundred dual layers discs and I have never had a coaster. But I'm only using my pioneers in combination with ImgBurn and verbatim media.

I'd stay well clear of the later Pioneer models, especially the SATA ones like the DVR-215. It just refuses to burn dual layer discs, even with the latest firmware (i have 2 drives and both have the same problem). ok, this is all getting out of hand. i said on the 15th april that i had made a total cockup of the menus and had left out the isolated score so i had to rebuild all the menus. That means starting most of them from scratch and as you know they are not plain menus and there is a lot of work involved.. i'm also putting all my time into doing both that and the painting for the cover so i don't have enough time to keep replying to every post at the moment or to visit as often as i once did. All these things need to be finished before i can release the DVD-9's. releasing a "purist" edition or the soundtrack hasn't caused this release to be delayed. How the hell can i give an exact or even estimated date when i don't know myself how long it will take? its not as if you can't already watch "Revisited" as the DVD-5's are out there. Please be patient. it will be out before the 31st anniversary. :)

Help.

I tried downloading the Purist Edition from the binaries group, but I can't get it to go together. Is there a torrent anywhere that I can access, because without a torrent I don't know how I can see this version. I already have the Revisited DVD 5 but would love to see this alternate "purist" version.

Not sure what you mean by "can't get it to go together" but my guess is that you may have some incomplete rars and you mean you can't unpack it. make sure you download the par2 files that come with the post and use QUICKPAR to repair the files and you should have no problem
