It is after much thought and with heavy hearts that the X0 Project Team has decided to call it quits. After three years of work and nothing to show for it, we've decided to move on. The X0 Project was a great idea in the beginning, and over the last few years we've seen and done a lot of awesome things - things nobody has ever done in a fan edit or preservation project. But while our intentions were great, our work of late hasn't been.
Unfortunately our fire has gone out of the universe, and we're giving up. Thanks to everyone for their support. No thanks to those of you who mocked us from the beginning. I guess you win.
Wow, what a coincidence. I just saw Blazing Saddles in the theater a couple nights ago. The big theater here in town shows old movies on Wednesday nights. My fave is still Spaceballs though. Dark Helmet rules.
I thought it was kinda cool. Not great, but pretty interesting. I liked how they put the two into the flashbacks from the first & second seasons. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Ethan talked to them about something else besides clothes.
That would be interesting. I actually wrote a treatment for a fan film for this contest, but I decided against doing it because of time constraints. The X0 Project has priority...
I popped in Wind Waker last night to see if I could remember anything about it. Nope, but I did realize that I never started the second quest so...
I do have to say though, when I first played it I had my Gamecube hooked up to an SDTV and I just never thought the graphics were that great. But seeing it for the first time on my 50" HDTV via the Wii component cable, I can really appreciate the cell shaded graphics. This is really one of the more visually stunning Gamecube games I've played, even if it is a departure from the perfection that was OOT.
I haven't read any Star Wars books or comics. I really don't get into anything outside the films except for KOTR and occasionally the clone wars cartoons. Aside from that, EU really isn't my cup of tea.
I think the last couple episodes have been great. I think the biggest problem is that they're trying too hard to establish characters in two places, so it always seems like we don't get enough of what's happening back at the beach while knowing a little too much about what's in Ben's refrigerator.
I watched TPM the other day and I have to say it's still my favorite prequel. I think it's mainly because of Duel of the Fates and the Qui-Gon/Obi/Maul battle. I don't love this move like the OT, but it has it's moments.
Looking back, I think my main expectation was that it just not suck. When I left the theater, I thought it was pretty good, and I think I went back 5 more times.
Lucas wrote the films. He wrote the novel for A New Hope. Everything else officially released has been written by other authors, but the content is OK'd by Lucas. This is what they call "Expanded Universe". Authors aren't just randomly writing Star Wars stories and publishing them.
For the novel adaptations of the other 5 films, Lucas gave the screenplay to the chosen author, who proceeded to turn it into a novel. Again, they are approved by Lucas before they get released.
Fan Fiction are the stories written by fans, not authors officially commissioned to write the books. These are the stories you see on message boards and blogs. I guess you could say they are "toloerated" by Lucas as fan adaptations of the saga, but that's all they are.
Haha, nice. I actually made it down to the convention center about 10:30-11ish and my friend told me had I been there about a half hour earlier, I would've been able to walk right into that third show.
And something tells me there's no way Lucas will be at this one...
Yeah, I got back to my hotel around midnight and could see the line already forming from my window. I was supposed to meet my friend in it and hang out all night, but I sat down on the couch and the next thing I knew it was 8am. I missed GL but at the same time I didn't get pneumonia from standing out in the rain all night.
