Posting from my hotel room at the moment. I got a lot of good pics in the archive exhibit on Friday. I'll try to get them posted next week when I get back.

I didn't see anybody on Friday morning. Oh well, would have been nice to meet a few of you. I'm manning the FanForce/TFN table a lot the next couple days so come by and say hi if you get the chance.

Last night was pretty interesting. They evacuated the convention center because of a bomb threat while the opening ceremonies were about to begin. Only they didn't evacuate the people already inside the hall where the ceremonies took place and the event went on as scheduled. I wasn't there but my friends tell me everyone else had to evacuate to the other side of the street and watch while the bomb squad went in and did their thing. All the while the opening ceremonies went on as planned.

On another note, yesterday I got to watch both the full rough cut of the upcoming film 5-25-77 and a 45 minute sneak peek of Fanboys. Both of these are going to be awesome movies and I can't wait til they come out.

Like the GOUT did to the original bootlegs, Lucas won't do it unless a DVD-quality version made by fans becomes highly-sought-after and LFL feels they need to squash its' success.

I don't know if it works the same way, but my Oppo DVD player connects to my computer via a usb cable and can download updates that way.

The price of technology always drops eventually. I remember selling 5-disc DVD changers at Circuit City in '99/'00 for $1000. What are they, less than $100 now?

No doubt. But I think he was referring to T1, not T2.

TPM did a lot more than just build on the work of T2. Things like the texture modeling and clothing animation they did for the CG characters were new concepts for a live-action film. And VFX supervisor John Knoll was quoted as saying he had no idea how they were going to do a lot of the shots in the film when they started pre-production.

I guess in the end all I'm saying is that TPM is much more deserving of being on that list than ROTJ.

That may very well be the player one of the X0 captures was done on. The seller is nin, who facilitated one of the captures for Laserman.

The order is supposed to be ready on Monday. Just in time for me to pick them up and bring a few with me when I fly out to L.A. the next day. I will have some for sale at C4 for those who can track me down. Who would be up for an "OT at C4" meet up sometime during the con? Even if it's only for a few minutes, it would be cool to have all the OTers all in one place.

Once the full schedule finally comes out tomorrow, it should be easier to set something up.

I've been posting on TFN for over 7 years now. Rarely do I venture into any of the movie forums though for reasons you guys have already mentioned. Back in the day though before all the politics, it was a great place to discuss TPM and AOTC spoilers while anticipating the films.

I like seeing POTC 2 on that list. Davey Jones was incredible. But I really think Star Wars Episode I should be there, as Jar-Jar's animation was pretty groundbreaking for 90's special effects work, and you know, him being the first CG main character in a live-action movie. (Forget how annoying he was.) Somebody should count how many films on that list were done by ILM.

Not sure exactly where this is going, but it's leading up to something cool. It almost seems like everyone is against Ben at this point. Can't wait to see how that develops. Charlie finding more hatch people underwater was an interesting twist as well. My guess is the "long-absent regular" who returns will be either Michael or Eko.

I posted on the SW.com boards once. It was actually the first day of their existence and people were trying to see how much they could get away with as there was only like one or two mods, including Ghent IIRC. All I really remember was Chyren spamming up the place and people testing out which words could slip past the word filter. Ah, fun times.

I don't think I've been back since that day.

You must not have seen very many behind-the-scenes featurettes for the prequels. From what I remember he was wearing more not-plaid than plaid. Not that I keep notes on his fashion trends or anything.
