The Worst Scene/Sequence in Any Star Wars Film
Time

My opinions aren’t that unusual, but here they are.

The Phantom Menace: Taking the submarine into Naboo’s core, it was completely unnecessary to the story.
Attack of the Clones: The romantic subplot, enough said.
Revenge of the Sith: Yoda’s fight with Sheev, it was his fight with Dooku turned up to 11.
Solo: L3’s shenanigans, it’s hard to know if we’re supposed to take her seriously or not.
Rogue One: No one scene really bugs me, but the whole first and second act was a bit too slow.
A New Hope: The sandcrawler scene could be shortened a bit, maybe. Nothing outside of SE crap really sticks out to me.
The Empire Strikes Back: Maybe the space slug trying to eat the Falcoln. Again, nothing really bothers me.
Return of the Jedi: The Ewoks, they should have been Wookiees like the original script said.
The Force Awakens: The rathtar scene. The CGI was Prequel level tbh.
The Last Jedi: The Canto Bight side quest, it felt so forced in.

The real question is whether the ST will be more loved than the PT.

I think the movies will. But the video games, books, comics and cartoons that expand the PT era will be viewed as better than the ST era expanded universe.

I disagree. The other forms of media helped fill in plot holes that Lucas made in the prequels, and while they are better than the prequels, I would not say that they’re better than the sequel trilogy. Not to get off topic, but in my opinion, I did think the original Clone Wars micro-series was the most underrated piece of Star Wars content yet, and I thought Filoni’s series was VERY hit and miss. As for the sequel trilogy expanded universe, it’s good, but it’s still young in the amount of content compared to the twenty years of expanded content the prequels received. Let’s just see where it goes and just let it grow.

Even in the first few years of the PT, there was already a ton of new content because of the Clone Wars multimedia project. Especially in the area of video games, the early 2000’s gave us Battlefront, KOTOR, Republic Commando, Star Wars: Galaxies etc. So far all we’ve got from EA in the nearly 6 years since they got the rights to Star Wars games are 2 very mediocre Battlefront remakes. Also, say what you will about both Clone Wars series’, but they’re both certainly better than Resistance. I hope that the ST period gets some expansion, but it seems to be developing way slower than the PT expanded universe.

Does anyone here think that either one of these two things will happen in the next 10-30 years. Will the sequel trilogy receive more love in the next 10-30 years by the fans, or be more divisive, kind of like the prequels?

IMO they will be kind of like how the prequels are viewed today. Where there’s some who still dislike every aspect of them, but most will have learned to live with the bad parts and enjoy the good.

Rogue One already has a good Battle of Scarif edit, and making a Kessel Run edit is probably doable for Solo. I think a TPM edit would be more difficult because of Anakin’s role in taking out the droids. You would probably have to take out the space battle and gungan battle, and mostly focus on the lightsaber duel, with the occasional cut to Padme and the Naboo guards fighting the droids. Not impossible, but definitely a bit more tricky.

So, what are your guys’ personal interpretations of the Force? It seems that, depending on the media, it ranges from a super power that only a select few can use, to something that anyone can tap into under the right circumstances. Personally, I think that being connected to the Force is kind of like a talent. Anyone can use the Force to some degree, but some are more gifted with it than others, but they still have to train with it in order to properly use their talent.

Out of curiosity, will this edit be subject to change after Ep. IX comes out? For example, I ADORE your version of Finn’s sacrifice, but if Finn and Rose have any sort of romantic relationship in Ep. IX, somehow tagging on what Hal did which includes the kiss but gets rid of the cringey dialogue would help with keeping consistency between the films. Does that even make sense? Hah.

IX will probably take place about 5 years after TLJ. There’s plenty of time for a relationship to develop in that time frame.

Phantom menace could be cut into a really short flick about qui gon and obi wan saving the queen and fighting darth maul, just splice the opening and the third act into one 30-40 minute short or something

That’s interesting. Instead of having an entire prequel trilogy explaining everything, just have a little teaser of what the Galaxy and the Jedi were like before the Empire. While still keeping the origins for Vader and the Empire and why the Jedi were hunted down a mystery.

Music by Guns & Roses, Corn, Ozzy, Pink floyed, Metallica and others

lol, what the HELL is Darth Maul doing in a young Han Solo movie? I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I imagine that it is absurd as it sounds.

Not that absurd: Maul became the leader of the underworld criminal society during the events of The Clone Wars. Han is a smugler, so he’s likely to be working with the criminal society. But

MINOR SPOILERS ABOUT THE CLONE WARS

Ok then, you’ve been warned: but Sidious left him for dead on Mandalore after killing his brother (yeah…), so we just assume Maul wasn’t killed… a second time !

END OF SPOILERS ABOUT THE CLONES WARS

Blame Rebels for that.

Most Baffling Complaint of a Star Wars Movie
Time

darklordoftech said:

  • That TPM created a plot hole by having Yoda know about the Rule of Two. When and how the Rule of Two came to be isn’t mentioned in TPM, so as far as TPM goes, the Sith could have openly existed with the Rule of Two for a million years before their “extinction”.

I think most those complaints came after the EU established Darth Bane. It was an invalid complaint when the film first came out and it’s an invalid complaint now with Legends being non-canon.
