Most Disappointing / Satisfying Aspect of the Sequel Trilogy?
Time

Am I the only one being uncomfortable with Poe and the team stealing desert skiffs from good people having a party? Couldn’t they have asked for help? Couldn’t Lando, being already there incognito with a vehicle, have given them a ride? What’s the point of Lando, after a call from Leia, checking on the team? Isn’t it somewhat paternalistic?

Most Disappointing / Satisfying Aspect of the Sequel Trilogy?
Time

Back to the topic: there’s so much aspects of the movie that I found disappointing, so I don’t know what the most is, but what I would have liked to see at the beginning of the movie is Rey building her own lightsaber (the one we see at the end of the movie), using parts (the Kyber crystal!) salvaged from Anakin’s lightsaber (which got torn apart in the previous movie). She has the ancient texts, she would have known how to build one, and it should have been part of her training. It would have been ultimately cool to see her fight with an orange blade. (Seeing her ignite her new lightsaber for no reason at the end of the movie is just fan service)

I like the “force Skype”, as it was called above, especially with various objects jumping between Rey’s and Kylo’s surroundings.

Wait…are you saying The Force can now instantaneously teleport objects?

It did in TLJ as well.

Just some drops of water on Kylo’s hand. Bue were they real or just a feeling?

The Force Skype in TLJ is pure cinema, the movie use a basic editing principle to convey an idea, a concept. That’s the beauty of it: the movie show Rey & Kylo communicating, but doesn’t explain how it happens, what is real and what is not, and thus preserve the mystery of the Force. Are they present in both spaces simultaneously, or is it just all in their minds? For me, how it plays, it’s obviously all in their minds.

TROS on the other hand has the literal interpretation of the Force Skype, as a physical manifestation, both Rey & Kylo being physically present in each other space. I didn’t like it at all, and find it so mundane, like a magician trick, where in TLJ it was a truly poetic idea.

Why don't people hate the Palpatine re-casting in ESB yet despise Force ghost Anakin's re-casting in RotJ?
Time

It primarily has to make sense to the people that watch the movie. If it doesn’t look like the burnt guy we saw earlier on, if we can’t recognize him, the movie makers have failed at story telling.

Star Wars is not an historical documentary about the GFFA, it’s a fairy tale that is maybe somewhat based on true facts. Like all fairy tales, entertainment is more important than the truth!

That’s why I said “accompanying” it. I know it wasn’t on the disc, but thank you for the correction. Any isolated score inclusion, on-disc or not, that accompanies this set’s release, is welcomed, and would earn my purchase of this set by itself.

I’m still puzzled as to why it wasn’t included on the disc. And frustrated that it wasn’t available at all outside the US! It would be a very cool bonus to have isolated scores on the 9 movies, but as it is something that happens less and less on home video releases…

Did Rey flew Luke’s X-Wing without an astromech droid?

Yes, but I’m assuming the Wayfinder may have fulfilled that need. Luke also reached Ach-To without an astromech, so either that X-Wing doesn’t need an astromech or maybe both Rey and Luke used the Force to guide them. Or a mix of both.

Luke used a Jedi compass to find Ach-To. As explained page 53 of The Rise of Skywalker Visual Dictionary. And the story of how Luke got hold of this Jedi compass is told in one chapter of the solo campaign of the video game Star Wars Battlefront II.

But why and how Luke drew a map to Ach-To, hid one part of this map in R2-D2 and the second part in a USB drive kept by who-was-this-guy hiding on Jakku?
